What would cause the interior lights and mirror lights to never turn off? Just started doing this? Also the radio is not working? All of this started today. It drained the battery and I had to jump it fir my wife after work. Is there a module or something that can go bad? I think the jettas r notorious for this kind of issue and it's a module in the door or something.
View 3 RepliesI'm having problems with the auto dimmer mirror in my camry 2004, it work some times but most of the time didn't work and is really difficult to use it during the night because the lights from cars behind shine directly in my eyes. The compass in the mirror works all the time but the dimmer not, I notice that the green light in the bottom of the mirror is off most of the time.

View 2 RepliesI just had the clutch replaced and immediately noticed the door open light on the dash wouldn't go off. I tried all the door, hatch and hood to check and it stayed on. Even if I turned off the interior lights, the interior marker light on the bottom corner of the passenger side door only will stay on, the drivers side goes off. I already called the place where the clutch was done and he said to bring it in and he'll take a look at it....which I'm doing today..... What the cause could be. Maybe the door switch is faulty?
View 1 RepliesYesterday I changed two burned out light-bulbs in the a/c control panel. When I tested them after dark they worked as designed. An hour or so later my brother-in-law called me to tell me my interior lights were on. When I walked out to check the lights were off. This morning my wife drove the truck to the store and called me to tell me the interior lights were staying on. Didn't have this problem before replacing those burned out bulbs.

I have noticed recently, two times I have turned the car off and the lights stay on.
One time was in the garage and I never lock the doors while parking it in my garage.
They were on for 15 mins after I turned off the car.
2004 Crewcab Lariat longbed 4wd. My interior and cargo lights stay on. I got in the other day and opened the truck to start it and when I closed the door the lights stayed on. I did a search and tried the following:
Lubed all the doors
Pulled door switches apart to verify operation
Disconnected the remote keyless entry module
Disconnected the instrument panel
Disconnected light switch
I found the following:
When I alarm the factory alarm with remote the alarm chirps once with doors closed, twice with them open. Looks like door switches are working.
Disconnected light switch. Lights stayed on
Disconnected Keyless entry module, lights stayed on
If I disconnect the instrument panel I can hear a relay switch. That tells me the relay isn't stuck. The lights do turn off at this point and will go off when I pull the fuse for the instrument panel.
Door switches all seem to work fine as eveidenced by factory alarm operation and the door opening indicator turns off.
Not sure where else to look and my Google Fu is not very strong today as I could not find anything like this issue.Is there another module that could be bad?
I bought my 11 GX460 a few months a go and I went out yesterday morning and it wouldn't start.. Of course I left the interior lights on and I drained the battery. Is there a setting somewhere that can automatically turns the interior light turn off after a set amount of time.

Current Fixes I've completed
Sprayed electrical cleaner in all 4 door latch assemblies (didn't work)
Relubricated all 4 door latch assemblies with food grade lithium grease (didn't work)
Replaced passenger door full latch assembly (didn't work)
What is my next step? I have noticed that if I wedge the door lock button on the driver's side door into the lock position, the door ajar message turns off and stays off? I was thinking wiring or relay issues?
I am in the midst of wiring up the Bold Sport kit that comes with the OEM mirror with build Rain/light sensor. It comes with a nicely made wiring harness with OEM terminals already installed. The kit can be found here for reference. [URL]

It instructs to add the power source to the fuse box. No problem. Says to add the RLS to fuse pin 17 and the Mirror power to pin 7.
Here is the diagram they show.
The problem is on my '13 Golf R, 17 is already taken. I can certainly add to a different pin on the same bus. So not really an issue there.
The other issue is that there is no power bus for pins 7-11 on my R. What gives? There is a power bus on pins 1-6 but they are all taken already.
Just got my Touareg. When i turn on the headlights...how do i turn the footwell interior lights off???

View 2 RepliesThe other day my daughter's 07 FSI v8 would not start; no power other than interior lights: no instrument power, no seat power, etc. Assumed a dead battery. Hooked jumper-cables, the fan start running, the panel came alive, it cranks, yet the air suspension lock is stuck on, EPS off is stuck on, etc.; assumed a dead battery caused all of this, since the alternator is pegging 14 and we have had a long cold spell. We drive it to the dealer an hour away to get the battery replaced; they test the battery and say its fine; no problems with the computer check-out. They say it must have been a random event; or something ran-down the battery (which is impossible, since you can't leave anything on).
No issues a week later, except I noticed the check-engine and the EPC amber lights are on. However, since my wife brought it back from the dealer, I don't know if these are error codes that were never reset from the initial event or if they are new. Will have to go back to the dealer to reset; check-out. My theory is the fan stuck on for some reason (since it will run independent of the cockpit power) and the battery charged-up on the one-hour drive to the dealer, thus all seemed OK to the dealer.
Last night I drove to pick up my wife from work, well I got to the place and put the Touareg in park and shutdown the engine. The light switch was in Auto as it was getting dark and the lights had come on while I was enroute.
When I shut down the engine the interior lights stayed on, as well as the taillights I noticed. I sat in the car waiting for 10-15 minutes listening to the radio with the interior lights on. Was I draining my battery? Should I not do this in the future by switching the light switch to off from auto?
I had this happen to me the other day and as it is outside of the usual for most cars, I thought I would mention it as it could lead to dead batteries if one doesnt pay attention to it.
If you turn off the Touareg with the directional blinker engaged, the parking lights on the side that the blinker was indicating will stay on after the car is turned off. The MFI iwill display PArking Lights ON.
When it first happened to me I started playing with the headlight switch to turn off the parking lights to no avail. I then cam to realize that it was the blinker that needed to be centered to turn them off.
Auto Lights come on when it is a sunny day. Sometimes do not come on at dusk, when most other cars with auto lights have them on .
View 1 RepliesI picked up my V8 yesterday. Overall great car. I spent several hours at the dealer working out little things and doing some shakedown driving. So I finally am ready to pull the trigger. I pay, they hand me the keys, and I am off. It's now dark, the dealership is closing, and I have to drive home. I get in the car and the floor lights in the front (where your feet are) and in the floor of the rear cargo area won't go off. I play with every control in the car and cant get them off. The overhead lights turn off - no problem. Then I get home and turn the car off. They still wont go off. I have to pull the fuse to get them off so it wont run the battery down. Then I notice that the red instrument panel will not go off either - end up pulling that fuse too.
View 14 RepliesThe headlights went out on the automatic "arrive home mode" more than the programmed 15 seconds. The interior overhead and foot lights took as much as 5 minutes to cease and desist.

I also have a 2000 boneville and over the winter i discovered that those same three windows/locks/courtesy lamps doesn't work , I have went through all the fuses which are fine , I will call the dealership and check on the BCM. I also have the wet floor problem. But no sun roof, I read that it may be the connector under the pass seat, I see a connector above the carpet, could that be it or is it located under the carpet...
