II had the vibration/hum for the first time when you reach 70mph and I need to know if it is safe to drive for about a week. I have looked but can't seem to find the answer.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2003 infiniti g35. With about 93k. When I reach about 50mph I begin to hear an off balance hum. I believe it is coming from the front tires. If I speed up past 70 I cannot here it or its frequency increases to where it is not noticeable. I thought it was my tires but I recently replaced the two front tires but the humming still is present. I don't know if its the steering, wheels or the engine. A few months ago I ran over a curb (drivers side) and had the front bumper replaced due to damage. I'm almost positive that knocked something off alignment, but I took it back to the repair shop and they said they could not find anything.
View 2 Repliesbrought my treg in for my 5k service and also got the AC humming noise fixed. not sure if everyone has the same symptoms. but for me, the humming usually starts when the AC is over 70 degrees and you hear a humming noise that sounds like it's from the left side of the dash.
turns out that it's the vibration of the secondary water heater (located on the front left fender) that's causing all the funky "humming" noise. tech fixed it by modifying and moving the bracket for the water heater to prevent further vibration. so far i haven't heard any humming noise. and I hope that's the solution for it.

So far I've been through 1 set of tires (after 12,000 miles), stepper motor, new cd changer, trouble with TPMS system and more Now that my stepper motor is replaced (dealer said he wasn't aware of any widespread trouble with this part, what a joke) I hear a humming noise, constant from rear axle area, drowned out by engine while driving. Noise sounds like a fan spinning or electronic interference you might get if your cell phone is close to a computer or tv with volume off. I don't recall this noise previously although I rarely drive this car it's my wife's.
View 5 RepliesThis noise has been posted several times recently and I have also experienced similar sounds. Whining in the drivers side dash area. Dealer states that it is fuel pump and that it is normal. Well, it has been a lot colder here in the last week and the noise has become louder, a couple of times to the point that it was hard to carry on a conversation with someone in the vehicle.
So I started investigating and found that if I turned the HVAC fan all the way OFF, which turns the system off, then the noise is gone. So my noise has to be associated with the HVAC. Complaining of this same noise coming from the drivers side dash? Also found same noise when I would use the REST.
I have noticed a humming noise above and beyond the normal fan noise when my t-reg is heating. I confirmed it is with the heating as when I turned the temp down, the noise quit at a lower temp and wasn't heating. The humming is distinct, almost like a small motor running or something and stems from driver's left.

View 3 RepliesThere seems to be a humming noise coming from the back of the treg. It sounds like someone is tapping on a 10 gallon plastic bucket. This only happens when I'm doing 80 MPH. Yes, I know I'm breaking the the law. Still it's annoying. I have the radio off, I have mud and snow tire. Roof racks are on, both at the rear of the treg.
View 21 RepliesWhat is the solution to fix the secondary pump humming/vibration noise? I get this humming noise from my driver side center dash area and according to few other members, it's the secondary pump. Some dealer fixed it by moving it to the side a bit to stop the vibration.
My dealer told me that's false and it's normal to make that noise (never had this noise before) and if there is something wrong, VWoA will issue an TSB to fix it..
Well, they won't do anything until there is an TSB and I was wondering if it's a easy fix that i can do it myself??

View 5 RepliesWhile I drive my camry I can hear a noise from the driver side. Together with the noise the car also vibrates. My bottle of water and all other loose stuff in the car rattles. It start to happen when I reach about 25mph. Then the faster I go the louder it gets. But once I past 60mph it won't get any louder. Stay at about the same level all the time. Is it wheel bearing or wheel balance? To me it sound like the wheel has a small bulge or something.

View 6 RepliesMy 2006 f-150 with 71,000 miles has been making a groaning noise in the front when I reach about 20mph and it will intermittently stop for a few seconds and then start again. And when I turn left it completely stops. I have had it to my Ford dealership three times and they replaced my steering shaft and brakes and checked for anything rubbing and have not fixed it. I'm worrying about this every time I take a trip.

To get a mental picture, I would imagine it sounding like a loose screw rolling to and fro inside the rear drivers side door or backseat. I've looked inside the car and don't see anything.

View 12 RepliesYou know that low noise you get when you put the car in reverse and the right hand mirror moves downwards. Well I'm getting the same type of noise when I slow down to a crawl and pull the ToeRag in the garage. It lasts for a couple of seconds. Goes away, and then comes back. Also almost sounds like the same "fuel pump priming" noise when the car starts up.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2008 touareg 2 V8. When we first got the truck everything was fine.. In the last month or so the driver's side mirror seems to be humming or buzzing at 50-70mph (80-120km/h)... If I fold the mirrors it goes away... Cross wind will make it louder, also it is intermittent... Maybe it's resonance?

Starting at about 45 mph, I am getting a humming noise
Doesn't get louder as speed goes up either, stays the same 45-75 mph
Have Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 tires, did rotation, noise did not change location
Noise does go away gradually when slowing down to a stop (after I have reached 45)
I am deaf on my left side, this is hard to tell where it is coming from
Second is this really odd brake pedal clink / pop noise. When brake pedal is depressed fully to the floor, car ON or OFF, there is a clunk

Brake pads / rotors are like new, plenty of life on them. I did have the inverter pump replaced per the recall (I read somewhere this could be related?)
