Touareg :: How To Turn Off Passenger Air Bag Off Warning Noise

(1) turn off the passenger air bag off warning noise?
(2) make it possible to start the newest Touaregs without depressing the brake? How do you like that "improvement"?

Any solution for the annoying light message on the console indicating that the passenger airbag is off? In other words, if no one is sitting in the seat I need to be reminded my entire drive that the airbag is off? Does this even make sense?
View 3 RepliesHas noticed that if you turn off the ignition with the directional on, a warning will come on and the directional will stay lit? I wonder why it does that?
View 1 RepliesHow to disable the seat belt warning sound and or the passenger side airbag warning sound?
View 7 RepliesIt just started and it it only does it at speeds over 40 miles or so. It comes on all of a sudden when driving sometimes. It gets a little louder when coming off the throttle as well.
View 3 RepliesI have this strange noise coming from the engine compartment on the passenger side of my vehicle. Here are the characteristics of the sound:
1) Sounds a bit like a skipping tranny. Fast paced creaking type sound.
2) Only happens when coasting and the car is up to temperature. Meaning when I'm accelerating or braking the sound is not present.
BTW, the vehicle has 28k-29k miles and is 18 months old.
I've got a 2004, V8 with about 65,000 miles. If its 75 or above and the ac is running the HVAC will start this whining or chirping noise. It seems fan speed related. Its coming from the passenger side, not the drivers side as some of the other posts mention with their situation.
View 1 RepliesI have a rather annoying high pitched tone coming from the front passengers side widow/mirror area. The dealer says it's normal wind noise from the mirror and can't do anything about it. I think they are just being lazy, and I think it's actually a window seal issue.
Here are more details; I hear the noise typically only at speeds above 60-65mph, although I have heard it as low as 40mph, but was driving into a head wind (so the combined air speed was about the same). It is a high-pitched, high-frequency noise that almost sounds like a continuous tone. It is loud enough to be annoying even with the radio on at moderate volume. It will disappear completely at speeds lower than mentioned above. It is localized only to that one side. The drivers side mirror/window is silent (for this issue at least) no matter what speed I am going.
A recent road trip gave enough frustration on this issue to make me begin experimenting. I taped up various mirror seams in a number of configurations and none alleviated the noise. At one point I rolled down the window about an inch to see If I could hear it more clearly from the window. The noise disappeared but I thought the turbulent wind noise at that speed might be masking it. So I rolled the window up and then just *tapped* the switch down the slightest amount and to my surprise the high-pitched noise disappeared completely, yet I did not open it enough to hear regular wind noise. This all leads me to highly suspect a window seal issue, and not mirror noise at all. Cracking the seal so slightly must allow the pressure to equalize canceling out the noise.
When I took it in for the issue they say (of course) "Can not replicate, wind noise from mirror within factory spec, no action taken" and something about cracking the window "re-aligns the flow over the mirror into the cabin reducing the noise" sounds because the drivers side is as silent as the grave, and the mirrors are symmetrical to my knowledge.
I have an 2005 VW Touareg. I purchased it 1 month ago with 8919 miles on it. I love the thing! However I have a rattle coming from the part that is below the passenger dash. The good thing is it only rattles when i hit a big bump, however when u pay 30k + this is the last thing you want to hear. See Pic. How to remove this black panel so i may fix it? Dealer was no luck the typical "I didn't hear any rattles" ....
View 1 RepliesMy turn signal blinking noise just stopped but turn signal lights still work and no error codes or messages. I know some folks don't like the noise but I do since the noise lets me know that I've left the signal on.
I do not remember seeing it in either fuse box.
I have a rattling noise coming from rear passenger seat. More noticible in cold weather and over bumps.
View 6 RepliesFinally I'm having my first issue with my Touareg! Coming to work today i noticed that even though i had flipped on my signal via the stalk, there was no mention of it on the dash and no clicking noise. I look off the reflection of the car in front of me and indeed me exterior turn signals work just fine. I get to work, shut off the car and turn it back on. Flip on the turn signal and the inside signal flashes once then goes off again. I again turn off and on the car and get the same result.
View 7 RepliesLat week I dropped my '04 V6 Touareg off at my dealer for some minor warranty work. On the way to the dealer, I noticed a weird noise and vibration whenever I turned the steering wheel. I mentioned this to the dealer when I dropped the car off. They called me later saying that there was a leak in the steering rack and the whole thing needed to be replaced. The car wasn't safe to drive, so they would provide a rental.
Today, I get a call saying that the steering rack finally came in, but that upon installing it they noticed that something connectet to the steering or front suspension (I can't remember what it was, tie rod perhaps?) was bent, probably from hitting a pot hole, and that therefore the replacement would not be covered by warranty. Needless to say, this will not be cheap.
I do not take my Touareg off road, and I don't remember hitting any pot hole so hard that it could have bent something. My questions are:
- Is this a known or common problem/issue with Touaregs?
- Could hitting a pot hole or something a long time ago cause a leak many months later?
When I turn on the heat or defroster I hear this humming noise coming from the front of my touareg, is this normal? I have a 04 v8....
View 5 RepliesIn the morning (especially when very cold outside) when I back up my car out of the driveway and then put it in D, turn the steering wheel 85% it sounds and feels like the front is "sliding" and making a little noise. It will only do this the first time I turn the wheel when the car is cold. It does not happen when the car has been driven. Is this normal? is it the drivetrain? The car drives great otherwise and there have been no apparent issues.
View 1 RepliesI drive a 94 Saturn SL1 as a part-time delivery driver for a pizza shop. Recently I bottomed out on someone's driveway. I could hear the bottom of my car scraping against the asphalt. It took several tries (in my 5-speed) to free myself from this trap. Since then I've been hearing a pretty loud "clicking" noise from the passenger side of the car every time I make a turn, where a small turn or a big turn. My mechanic replaced the left axle and the right boot, saying that both were defective. However I still hear the noise. What can I do??
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 Honda Civic that was making noise on the front passenger side wheel and what sounded like the front driver side strut clanging (bottoming out) when I hit a bump, sharp right turn heading down hill, or hit a pot hole (small or large). I brought it in to a mechanic to diagnose the issue. They told me I had a bad wheel bearing and also needed new struts. They quoted me a price on parts and labor that I thought was too high, so I checked a few other mechanics to make sure that I needed the work and try to get a better quote. All said the same work needed to be done, so I eventually had them repaired.
My car seems to ride better and I don't hear the noise from the front passenger side wheel anymore or the noise from the front driver side strut, however, there is now a clunking like sound coming from the front suspension (left and right sides). It sounds kind of like something might be loose. I can hear it over slight bumps, and when turning whether I'm going slow or even coming out of a parked spot.
Is there something else that may need repair after having all this other work done? Have I caused a "needed repair chain reaction" or something?
2000 Corolla - "growling" noise on the passenger side of the engine / stops when I turn the steering wheel - no loss of PS fluid (I also flushed the system) - which bearing(s) might be bad...?
View 2 RepliesI was towing an enclosed trailer (4000lbs) this past weekend on the interstate and the low coolant warning came on. I pulled in at the next exit at a truck stop to look for distilled water and they did not have any. I decided to buy an off brand long life premixed coolant, pink in color and topped off the overflow tank with about 1/2 gallon of coolant. After reading about not mixing coolants with the G12 that comes in the Touareg, will I have to drain the entire cooling system and refill with G12? or is this not enough to worry about? Should I get the dealer to do this for free since they just serviced my truck prior to my trip and I told them I was going to be towing and to make sure everything is okay?
View 9 RepliesHad a strange thing happen this weekend. Hadn't driven the truck for a day, and when I started it up, I got a TP warning for the right rear. I broke out my trusty tire pressure gauge, and they were all perfectly equal at 45 psi. I restarted the car a couple of times, but I kept getting the warning. Then, I had the system re-learn the pressures and I was fine. How to resolve this problem. Hope this doesn't start to happen too often.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2003 Honda Pilot with about 152,000 miles on it. Recently while driving if i have the radio on or have my ipod hooked up, the volume will turn all the way down and the dashboard warning lights will turn on. It only lasts for a few seconds at a time but it happens very randomly. Sometimes it won't happen at all and other times it will occur every few minutes or so.After the few seconds the volume turns back up to its previous set level and the dashboard lights go back to normal. The way the lights come on seems pretty random as well. Sometimes it will just be the "parking break" light and other times it will be all of the warning lights. I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe a fuse is shorting out?
