Cracked the lens on the turn signal of the passenger side sideview mirror. Can I get a replacement lens? How to replace? I need to replace the whole mirror.

View 9 RepliesWe were following an RX350 the other night, it was a later model as the rear wiper was hidden, and I noticed it had turn signal lights at the outboard edge of the side view mirrors. Is this a 2015 thing or something we missed on the 2014?
Might not be enough to trade up for but something I hope continues into the Gen 4 models as it is a feature I like.
Need to replace side views with wide angle lenses? How easy is it to replace them? I don't want to break anything, but it looks as if they just snap in and out, is that so?
View 15 RepliesI have a 2003 F250 Lariat with the OEM power mirrors with the turn signal on them. I let someone drive my truck and they hit something with the mirror and broke the plastic lens. The mirror housing itself is fine. I can't find just that lens anywhere!
View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 Envoy SLT. The turn signal bulb that is located on the driver's side mirror is burned out. How do I replace the bulb?
View 1 RepliesI just used it for the first time and I noticed it barely turns downward as far as it did in my 2004. Is this correct, or does it need some adjustment? It works just not nearly as well.
View 9 RepliesFirstly, when i put my car in reverse, my passenger side view mirror does not automatically tilt. is there some sort of setting i must go to?
Secondly, I was wondering if it was possible to AUTOMATICALLY fold the side view mirror when i off the engine, or lock the doors, and for them to automatically unfold when i start the engine or unlock the doors! Instead of manually turning the knob.
I went into the Menu, and there was an option under "locks .... ---> mirrors", and i selected sync. Does that have anything to do with my question?
Thirdly, The rain sensing wipers. I have to activate this by pulling the lever up ONE STEP to the intermittent mode right. I tested the rain sensing wipers with a bottle of water! and the sensor is at the rear view mirror. The question is that when i off the engine and leave the rain wipers under Mode ONE (one step up the lever from off) the car doesn't automatically activate the wipers if it rains. I have to push it down to off! then back to INTERMITTENT MODE! Is this normal?
I have a base model V6 Touareg. The passenger side view mirror doesn't tilt down in reverse (even with the mirror switch in the R position). Is there a VAG-COM setting to enable this feature?
View 1 RepliesI have a new 2015 RX 350 and the side view mirror quit folding when I turn off the car. The auto light is turned on. It will work when I utilize the manual switch and it will open when I use the auto switch, but it won't close when I park the car and shut it off. Is there something I'm doing wrong or some other item I need to set?
View 2 RepliesWe ran the side mirror into a tall trash can. I replaced the mirror but need to replace the blinker assembly that is in the bottom of the mirror. I bought it and can't see how to take mirror apart to put it in.
View 3 RepliesMy blinker housing is cracked and I can't figure out how to remove and replace it. It looks like you might have to pull the mirror glass to get to the screws. Is this the case? If not, how do you do it, and if so, how do you pull the mirror glass off without it breaking?
View 5 RepliesThere was some kind of accident somewhere that broke the turn signal in the drivers side mirror on my GX 460, 2012.
I have worked on other cars before and it has been easy, remove the screws holding the housing in place, and based on swell's site I can see the new signal bolts on.
However, I see the 4 Philips screws behind the physical mirror, and I can access 3 of them, but not the 4th. It seems I would need to remove the physical mirror and I cannot figure out how.
I noticed the turn signal light on the passenger side and mirror staying on. Wether it's started or off. Locked or unlocked. Don't know what the issues could be. Front one not on though
At the dealer now. I have 600 miles on it so I'm assuming it will be warranty covered.
I just picked up a 2004 F150 FX4 Supercab, I had a safety inspection done and am working through some of the issues.
The turn signal indicator on the passenger side mirror is not working (front and rear indicators work). I took the mirror apart and get no voltage to the led array, next I pulled the rubber boot off of the harness in the door jam and probed the wires while with a test light and found one of the wires would blink the test lest light but the colour didn't match the the turn signal array, it matched the heated mirror wire. I probed at the heated mirror connector at the mirror and sure enough it blinks! Then I notice that the heated mirror indicator light on the center dash is blinking? I push the heated mirror button below the indicator light and ALL turn signals (front and rear) stop.
I searched the forum for mirror turn signal issues and found a thread about corroded wire splice below the fuse panel. I checked and have no splice all look ok so I thought I would post and see if I can get some direction or a schematic.
The symptoms are :
- Passenger side mirror turn signal(right turn) indicator does not work
- front and rear turn signal indicators work
- power seat works
- fuses are good
- drivers side all turn signals work fine
- heated mirror indicator light on the dash blinks with the passenger side turn signal
- pushing the heated mirror button when turn signals are flashing (right turn) results in a solid heated mirror indicator light but all other right turn signal indicator stop blinking (off)
It seems to me that there must be a short between the two circuits but where?
A week or so ago there was a topic about the rear view mirror dimming. I replied that mine worked on the inside but not the outside mirrors. I just re-read two or three different brochures and found that the outside mirrors do just about everything except dim! Go figure.
View 1 Repliesunder the self-dimming rearview mirror, actually two of them. I searched 'red light' and came up with a 2001 post and nobody knew what it was either, an ambient light like the state patrol uses one guy summized!!!
What gives here. I've never noticed it at night, only today in broad daylight!
So I noticed a while back when I bought this car that my driver's side side-view mirror was a little loose. I didn't think anything of it back then b/c it still worked fine. Then just a couple of weeks ago the driver's side side-view mirror fell & hung by the wires connected to it. I can put it back to how's is supposed to be but it's really loose now. So I looked at the plastic pieces that hold this thing in place and I saw this:
If I put it back where it's supposed to be it stays up there but is very loose!
How to pop off the side view mirror (just the mirror part, not the entire mount)
I know either the bottom slides in, and the top clips in, or vice versa. I don't want to pry off the wrong side and snap off tabs that slide in.
How do I set the auto dim to "off" by default? It's on by default and I don't like it b/c I can't get use to it.
View 8 RepliesThis triangular piece of trim adjacent to the side-view mirror on my 2004 Lexus RX330 has several "wrinkles" and other abnormal markings on the trim piece. This problem only appears on the passenger side. Also, there are a few of these wrinkles on the window pillars.
View 5 RepliesMy mirror got banged and fell out. I put the mirror back on but now it won't go up and down. It will go right and left. I can't even push it with my hand. Perhaps electric mirror's can't be pushed by hand. I've never tried before. It's a 2010 Hyundai Elantra touring. Is there anything I can check or will I have to buy a new one.
