I have a set of wheels without sensors and would like to lose the danger symbol on the dash monitor. Have tried the fuse 24 and 27 combinations. Have Vag-Com.

View 13 RepliesI love my new ride too (08 V6). I hvae a couple of questions: How can you disable your DRL? I went to the convenience page and there's no option to disable DRL (day time running lights). How can I reset the tire pressure monitor sensor. I upgraded to the 19" wheels and my TPMS settings is for 17" wheels.
I looked all over the MFD and I don't have the option to reset them. But according to the manual that came with the car I should have that option. One thing I noticed their manual is not the greatest. By the way this is my first VW.
Is there a way to completely disable the TPM system, I have turned it off in the MFI, but it displays a warning at the top of the screen, always. I put some Porsche 19"wheels on the Touareg without TPM. I took it to the dealer and they were unable to provide a solution.
View 16 RepliesHow accurate are electronic tire pressure monitoring systems? My dashboard digital readout usually reflects 3 or more pounds less than psi taken with various manual gauges (cheapo, expensive, digital). Which should I believe?
View 5 RepliesThe Tire Pressure Monitor is now missing off of my menu. I was trying to show a friend tonight and I clicked on it, the screen went black, then the menu came back up minus the TPM. What happened? I have restarted my car and even reset the MFI, but it doesn't work.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2004 Touareg with 70,000 miles, and until recently the tire pressure monitors have worked perfectly. Now I'm getting a Flat Tire warning, or a warning of a defective wheel, or when I try to reset it tries to learn but fails, or it sets a tire pressure of say 42 but the pressure is only 38. The Dealer says "its a known problem", he thinks they're going to issue a recall, but doesn't have a fix.
View 5 RepliesMy tire pressure monitor is acting funky again in cold weather. For the past few days when the weather is around 30s i get flat tyre warning when i first start my car. then after drive for about 5 minutes, it goes away. Seems like once the tire warms up the warning disappeared.
I have standard 18" wheels... currently the tire reading from the MFI is 34 front 37 back. I remember i had them set in the summer for 37 front and 42 back. Should I put more air in? is that why?
I am looking for which model of tire pressure monitor for my 04 VW Touareg. I am looking for the front sensors, I believe they are made by Beru. What is the code and where I can find those (link)?
View 13 RepliesI just bought a 2008 Highlander. I'm thrilled with the quality of the vehicle so far. This model has a tire pressure monitor system which I can't seem to reset. I've set the pressure in all tires at 34psi and 44 for the spare, and the indicator light will not go out. I press the reset button and the indicator light never blinks to indicate that a reset is in progress.
View 29 RepliesOur tire pressure monitor light came on recently. I checked the tire pressures, topped off all four and reset the TPMS button, but no luck. The light blinks, but then stays on. I'm thinking I've got one of two problems. Either the spare has low pressure or the batteries are used up in the sensors. The car is an early 2009. Seven full years seems kind of early for the batteries to be finished in the TPMS units.
View 3 RepliesI have 04 Touareg with Tire pressure monitor and etc.
Yesterday I've got an ugly "running gear" stop fault and after reading the forums perform "close the doors and push for few seconds the lock suspension button" and the issue went away. Then I went to MFI and notice that the menu option "Tire pressure" disappeared from the menu list. I check the tire-pressure system it worked, but menu item still not there. How I can get the item back?
I have an 04 - V6 with about 55k miles. Tire Pressure Monitor System Fault is the message. The tire pressures are fine. Message appears after 15 minutes or so of driving. After another 5 minutes or so of driving, the fault message goes away - whey you click to vehicle status it says "OK". I took it to my local VW dealer, they said they fixed it, but on the way home from the dealer, it popped up again. They are perplexed. This is not the "Faulty wheel on board" message, it is totally different....
View 11 RepliesI have a 2010 F250 Super Duty with 18" factory wheels. I started having intermittent Tire Pressure Monitor Faults. My research lead me to believe that the seven year old sensors were probably running out of battery life. So... When I had new tires installed I also had new FoMoCo sensors installed and I purchased a FoMoCo tool (TPMS 19) to train the new sensors. My problem is that I cannot get the sensor training process to work. When I put the truck into the train mode and try to retrain the LF tire, nothing happens and eventfully the horn beeps twice and the dash reads that the training failed. Where is the receiver that the sensors communicate with? Could it be bad?
View 9 RepliesThe tire pressure monitor comes on when there is only .5 difference in one tire. Then it won't go off.
Also, the driver's side mirror will not program and it has a mind of its own just changing randomly every time I back in.
I have a 2006 Prius with 133k miles.
The other day, I had my Michelin Hydroedge tires (87k) replaced with Michelin Defenders.
The tech brought out one of the rims before removing the old tire and told me that he thought that the tire pressure gauge was broken. He shook it and I could hear it rattling inside.
How to disable the Tire Pressure Warning System. Repairs are costing more than it is worth.
View 3 RepliesWhen I bought a used camry 5 years ago and drove it on the highway, my front tire busted and damaged the fender cuz it had too much air!! I wonder if it shows high pressure on my 2010 gen III Prius v with ATP. I know that the tires are special on this v version but still I like to keep a slightly higher pressure in the front ones because the lane keep assist feature works better with higher tire pressure. Summer is coming up so that gets me worried what to do with tire pressures.
View 10 RepliesI just bought new tires for my Touareg. The tire pressure system is still saying I have a "defective tire" and then after a few minutes changes to "flat tire". How do I reset it?
View 6 RepliesI am having a problem with my V6 early VIn Egg tire pressure monitoring system fault. I received the error so I checked the tire pressure on all tires. They were at the recommended levels. I therefore took it in for service and they had to replace the control unit. After picking it up from service, I received the error again. I took it back to service and they tried resetting the control unit. Well as expected, I received the error again. Currently, my egg is back in the shop as they are trying to resolve this problem. I also decided to have them fix the remote range since it's in the shop.
View 8 RepliesOkay, so 2004 Touareg. The tire pressure monitoring system is constantly on, it says that it's the left rear sensor. we've replaced the left rear sensor (twice) then we find out that the antennae that receives the signal that is broadcast from the sensor was dangling in between the fender and the fender liner and there was duct tape wrapped around the unit.
It seems as though a previous dealer decided that duct taping the antennae back to the fender was the best way to fix the problem. well now we have replaced the antennae, and the sensor and the problem is still there. I don't know if there is a wiring problem, but is there a way with the Vag-Com that I can just disable the TPMS system and just monitor my tire pressure the old fashioned way with a tire gauge? or Can I unplug the tire pressure monitoring system module without it causing the light to constantly stay on and beep at me? or can i turn off the beeping and deal with the light without disabling the beeping for oil pressure, or speed warning, or low fuel, or whatever?
I just purchased a V8 Touareg PPS and after about 100 miles, I received the message: "Tire Pressure Monitoring System Fault" in the MFI. Even though the error didn't indicate low pressure, I checked the tire pressures anyway with a digital tire pressure gauge and since they were just slightly off the recommended pressures, I increased the ones that were slightly low and decreased those slightly high and reset the monitoring system.
I then drove around for about 30 minutes while it relearned the pressures, and the system seemed to work for a few minutes -- I was able to read the pressures in all four tires again. BUT THEN, a few minutes later I received the same error again, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System Fault." What could be the problem? I'd like to know what it is before I take the car in so if any parts need to be ordered, I don't have to go in twice.
