What I'm looking for is a way to re-orient the screen so that north is always facing up on the screen. Right now it changes direction depending on which way I am traveling. I looked at all of the menu items and can't seem to figure it out.

I thought I saw it display heading up when I first discovered the compass, but now it always displays heading up and I don't know how to change it. Maybe I was imagining things.

To replace the cabin air filter, there is a tray that you pull out. The tray has an arrow pointing up. I've read someone's comment on the forum that the up arrow on the filter should be oriented the same way as the up arrow on the tray. I'm wondering if the up arrow on the tray is only meant specifically for the orientation of the tray, to make sure you slide it incorrectly and not for the filter, per se.
Usually, for air filters (home, car, industrial, whatever) the arrow almost always indicates the direction of air flow. I have seen on some car air filters that the direction of the arrow just simply meant to put the filter in with the arrow pointing up, while other manufacturers mean the arrow to be pointing in the direction of air flow.
I just got this 2002 for my mom, and I'm doing the maintenance on it before I bring it to her. The very new aftermarket cabin air filter in there has the arrow pointing up, in line with the arrow on the tray. I'm much more familiar with the Gen 9 Corolla, and on that car the direction of air flow is going down. For some brands, you must put the filter with the arrow pointing down and others up, depending on what they meant (air flow direction, or orientation of filter). I assume the air flow is going down for this car. So, for this generic filter that is in there, should I switch the orientation? It doesn't have a name brand on it, but it's practically brand new, so I don't want to spend the money on a Denso or other OEM/OES filter.
Don't know how to change the default screen setting so that it stays in either radio or Media screen. It automatically reverts to map after pressing the radio or media button.

When I went to transfer my images in the directory, it asked if I really wanted to delete the existing ones. I was under the impression that what is default remains and that I can install new ones also. Does the default ones will be removed from car nav system?

View 12 RepliesI have a 2013 Prius Wagon. Have noticed that I can go into the General setting and should be able to change from kilometers to miles. Go through all the steps, selecting miles as the new option, and then nothing happens. There is no screen to save settings, so nothing happens.
On the other hand why would those smart apples designing this system just not link to whole process to the button on the dash that changes the speedometer function. Just like it did in my 2005 Malibu!!!
How to change the Toyota Logo that appears on the screen when you start the car? I know there is an option for that in the Settings menu toward the bottom. There is a preset Toyota logo and the user may add more or modify the current one. There is an option to extract from USB, but when I do it says failed.
My usb flash drive is formatted properly, and I do have pictures in there that I would like to put. However, it says to refer to the Toyota User Guide for picture information, but I cannot find it anywhere.
Perhaps my pictures are too big for the screen, so that is why?
I just got my 2016 ES300 and I noticed that every time I start the car, the default view goes straight to the navigation screen. Is there a way to change it to something else or to the last screen it was before I turn off the car?
I ask is because in my previous car (Avalon), if I was on the radio screen and I turn off the car and turn it back on again, the radio screen would come up.
Yesterday all of a sudden the lights on the instrument panel started flashing and the RPM indicator started fluctuating . The RPM indicator would rev and bounce all over the place while the engine was. At a constant speed. Same thin happened before when the alternator went. Next the A/C sort of went and the NAV screen showed Air Condition Diagnosis with no options to change the climate control on the screen. When I got to the car I noticed the 110v ac button was on, not sure how long she had it engaged. I turned if the 110v button and unplugged the battery to reset the computer. All seems fine driving it for 20 miles now.

Other cars I have seen will allow you to use the remote and close all windows and moon roof. Looking at the LS460 manual it looks like the dealer can program our remote to open the windows and moon roof with the remote. But it does not say anything about closing.
Also a question on the Navigation. Can you change the default screen to the Information screen? Mine always goes straight to the map when I start up. Could not find a place to change it.
Snowed for the first time since we've had the Touareg and my wife called to tell me the car keeps beeping at her and this keeps showing up on the screen. Is this because she didn't clear snow off of the bumper / sensors?I realize it has to do with the parking assist feature so that is why I wonder if it is a snow issue blocking the sensor.

View 11 RepliesI recently purchased a used 2004 VW Touareg. The previous owner must've had long fingernails, as the driver-side fan button was extremely worn. At any rate, I was able to get a new button included in the "we owe" from the car dealer.
After the local VW dealership fixed the button, the LED screen that displays the temperature setting blinks when I start up the vehicle (like 15-20 times). It's very annoying to say the least.
How to turn off the Accept button on the NAV? or the annoying chimes? can/will the dealer do it?

View 6 RepliesTook my Touareg to Prestige VW in Pleasantville, NY. Dropped it off last night for the first oil change, quoted $95. Went to pick it up today, and it wouldn't start. I am not sure what the voltmeter read. No service staff was available, and I am not sure that the people there knew how to jump it, plus my wife is 8 mos pregnant, didn't want to get her stranded, so I left it there.
