View 24 RepliesWe buckle up, but the sound is annoying before we do. Its low if we turn on the music loud enough. Also, it would be very convenient if the sunroof had a rain sensor to close it. The windshield wipers sensors are not as useful especially because these wipers make too much noise.
View 11 RepliesI noticed several times today, that the park assist gave false warnings when it was snowing lightly. the first time it happened, I stopped and got out to see if there was any snow accumulation on the bumper, and there was none.
Then later in the day, it happened several more times. the last time, only the two sets of red lights came on, without the yellow lights, and the beeper sounded briefly, and then it stopped again. And still there was not any snow on the bumper. Is it seeing snow flakes out there?
A year ago, I had a problem starting my car (a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, about 120,000 miles). When I put the key in the ignition, the engine wouldn't turn. I knew there wasn't a problem with the battery because my lights, radio, etc. were still operating fine. Instead, I got a bright flashing "SECURITY" message on the front panel of the car. After a few minutes pacing around the parking lot, I returned to my car and it started without a problem. I checked online, and several car forums and articles claimed that this was a common problem in 2004 Chevrolet Impalas: some faulty wiring in the security system would stop the car from turning on because it thought you were trying to hot-wire the vehicle.
After the first incident, I didn't encounter this problem again until recently. Within the last 2 weeks, this problem has become more frequent, occurring maybe 2-3 times per week. The car won't start and I'll get a flashing "SECURITY" message. If I wait a while (between 5 to 30 minutes), the car will eventually start. I finally decided to take my car into a Chevrolet dealership to get the problem fixed. I described the problem to the mechanic; she guessed that the cause was associated with the ignition cylinder....
How do you disable the DRL in the 04 touareg? it seems to be harder than installing a euro switch.
View 6 RepliesSeems like there are so many buzzers and gongs in this vehicle - keys, seatbelts, lites, park assist I'm about ready to officially conclude: "over-engineered" (right before I shoot myself). But the seat belt gong bothers me the most (at least, so far; I'm still trying to figure out what they all are). Why can't I sit in the car, in park (not going anywhere) with my seatbelt unfastened, without having to here "gong, gong, gong" every 15 seconds (or whatever it is).
Is this regulation now? My '02 Jeep didn't do this. My '04 Maxima doesn't do this. I hate this. How to disable this?
In December I purchased an 04 Touareg and LOVE the car(hate the tires but that's another discussion). I read an article on club touareg about a product VAG-COM that could disable the seatbelt chimes? How this is done, do I need to purchase something?
View 1 RepliesAny way to disable this annoying chime?
View 3 RepliesI have a set of wheels without sensors and would like to lose the danger symbol on the dash monitor. Have tried the fuse 24 and 27 combinations. Have Vag-Com.
View 13 RepliesHow to disable the "accept" button EVERY time you turn the car on? Or the Seatbelt dinger -without latching seat belt?
or why the car has such a jerky shift and braking to it with regards to the gear box? V8 T-reg?
Is there any way to disable the driver seat from moving all the way back when the ignition is switched off and the door is opened? The seat being all the way back makes it much more difficult to get my son in and out of his child seat in the back. Also, I'm not obese nor do I have mobility problems so the seat moving out of the way is a complete waste for me!
View 7 RepliesI love my new ride too (08 V6). I hvae a couple of questions: How can you disable your DRL? I went to the convenience page and there's no option to disable DRL (day time running lights). How can I reset the tire pressure monitor sensor. I upgraded to the 19" wheels and my TPMS settings is for 17" wheels.
I looked all over the MFD and I don't have the option to reset them. But according to the manual that came with the car I should have that option. One thing I noticed their manual is not the greatest. By the way this is my first VW.
How to disable the seat belt warning sound and or the passenger side airbag warning sound?
View 7 RepliesSo according to the manual that comes with the car, "ESC is switched on all the time." There are only instructions for turning off traction control.
Why Electronic Stability Control sucks: "Then there is the ESP. I don't even plan on bringing this car to the track until this is resolved. Last thing I need is the car thinking it needs to pull my throttle or apply the brakes because it thinks I'm 'out of control.' That is just an accident waiting to happen."
So how to turn off stability control yet? I'm kind of hoping APR (or any other tuner) would include some sort of flash with their tune that makes the 'ESP OFF' button also disable stability control (and not just traction control).
These guys disabled ESP by pulling a fuse. the only problem is that it also disables ABS and a couple lights : [URL] ....
How do I turn off the seatbelt light? What fuse do I have to pull 2 disable the DRL?
View 3 RepliesI just brought home my new 07 2.0T Wagon and need info with the speed warning function. The dealer set it to 0.0 mph when showing me the car and now whenever I start the car and back up, drive away it says speed warning exceeded. I then press the OK button and it goes back to normal MFD mode. How do I disable or turn off the speed warning, I thought I did what the manual said but it will not go away (when I first start the car).
View 3 RepliesI have a hearing disability called Hyperacusis. if its possible or knows how to disable the turn signal sound as it causes me physical pain in my ears. Its for a 2016 model.
View 4 RepliesSo i dont have a prius... yet. Just started looking at them and ran across one that had the dash lit up and warnings on the lcd as well. I think it wise to steer clear of this car but curios as to what could be wrong with it as this info may come in handy as i look further into these cars.
View 3 RepliesI own 2006 vw passat 2.0T with 10-speaker dynaudio system. One day my sound disappeared completely, without any warnings. I found an amp 3C0-035-456-A under the driver seat. I tried to bypass amplifier directly to one of the speaker (midrange). the sound came on in that speaker. Which makes me believe that my amp died. On the other hand i checked the fuses and even voltages. Green connector to amp gets 3 rails 9 of voltage supply. Each of them measured as 2.8V, which doesn't add up to 12V no how.( so maybe its a voltage problem i'm not sure).
View 3 RepliesYesterday I changed my engine water pump and flushed the coolant. While filling the coolant I attempted to put the car into maintenance mode to run the pump. At the end of the process when I pressed the brake and start, the engine didn't start running and instead the car shut off.
Now all of the red triangle, ABS, vcs, check oil, and traction warnings are all on. There is also an icon of a red car with an exclamation point on the top left corner of the display. The car will also not go into gear and A/C and heat don't seem to be working.
I have had 3 or 4 warnings in the last two days when trying to start my car.
Sometime the red exclamation comes on and twice the mfd came up with a message about 'P' and parking on a flat surface.
I have a 09 gen2 and I'm on my original battery. Was wondering if its an early sign of 12v battery failure or if its something else?
