Touareg :: Got Indicator In The MFI Key Battery Not Found?

Yesterday ,when I got in the car an indicator lit up in the MFI saying Key battery not found. and a key symbol came on on top of the MFI screeen,and stayed on . Car started and ran fine.When I stopped and restarted the car all disappeared and normal. I could not find this key symbol at all in our manuals.

2004 V8 Touareg. Was getting all the "low voltage" error messages. "workshop fault" "headlight adjust" "brake system". Then one day I used my second key and get a "Key Battery not Found" message.
Dealer says the "low voltage" error messages have to be reprogrammed out of the computer and cannot be simply cleared. FYI I have a vagcom. They say there is no fix and I can either pay for a new battery or come back in to have them reprogram when they come up again. Is this true? New battery makes no sense to me as the battery is only two yrs old. Seems like quite the hassle as any cold weather and not starting up the car for a couple of days and I got to make a trip to the dealer. Is there a fix for this?
"Key Battery not Found"- Never saw this message until I used my second key. It obviously has a key battery since it opens the doors. Dealer is stumped and they wanted me to pick up the vehicle telling me that it was fine and the message didn't mean anything.

I'm running a euro switch on my 05 V8 and I just noticed some weird battery fluctuations for specific light configurations.
In particular, if I run the parking lights (without the headlights)and the front fog lights together, the battery indicator jumps around between 13 and 14 on the console readout. For any other position on the euro switch, the battery charge indicator stays locked onto 14 (where I would expect it to be). I can reproduce the issue easily and haven't found another direct cause. There haven't been any other battery symptoms that I've noticed, so this one seems a bit peculiar.

I have a 2005 Treg V6. I took it in last week for the 20K check up. After having the vehicle all day I was told they have found coolant in the cylinder. I have been told it is either a warped head or a head gasket issue. This sounds serious.....never had this kind of issue with my many VW's over the past 10 plus years....should I be worried about more trouble down the future? I guess I am just not keen on VW technician ripping parts of the engine apart and putting it back together..

My girlfriend has a Tiguan, and I noticed there are no key holes anywhere in the car. I noticed this after leaving the lights on in my GTI and having to manually key in to gain access to the car.
What happens if she were to leave her lights on? Is there a separate battery source for the keyless entry? I have to think there's something smarter (than me) to keep you from getting totally locked out of your car if your battery should die...

I have the factory keyless entry/start. When using one of my key fobs most of the time the display will show key not found and the battery is good.

Just changed out my 12v battery in my 2008 Prius, I found water in the battery compartment. There have been heavy rains this past weekend but it should not have entered the car.

I am considering purchasing a 2010 as an upgrade from my current 2008, I have been reading recently as these last 3 days of constant rain made me check my current one for leaks and like normally the battery tray was filled with water.

OK, I've been reading a lot about this problem occurring in the pre 2010 prius where there is a crack around the hatch that fills the 12V battery well with water. About a month ago, I started getting a whiff of something rotting. A mix of the dead smell and rotting fruit. I was certain one of my kids left some food in the car or something got in the HVAC vent. As time has gone by, the odor has changed to more of a rotting leaves kind of smell.
I got out my shopvac and a snake camera. I went through the HVAC system and found that the filter was pulled back a bit. I replaced it on the spot. I found a few leaves and dust and that was it. The air coming from the vents from the outside smells clean. There were lots of wet leaves in the engine bay, but it wasn't the problem.
I started tearing apart the trunk because sometimes stuff spills into the tire well. I found the spare tire had turned brown on the tread.
I opened the battery compartment and found about an inch of standing milky white water. The kicker here is that the water didn't seem to smell that bad! I dried it all up and bleached the metal to kill any mold that might be in the residue...but the odor remains. The car smells awful!
I have torn apart the back of the car but I cannot find the source of the leak. I actually think it was from the car wash or going through a puddle and water got in the rear vent. The battery fender vent vanes were flapping with gusts of wind today, but even after a heavy rainstorm no new water has gotten in.
The car was hit in the parking lot and the rear fender moved about an 1/8th of an inch from the bumper, but there are no obvious signs of water entry anywhere... in fact, I was even suspicious that it might have come from the battery itself, but I didn't touch it (used paper towels on a snake to dry it up under there). I didn't think to try baking soda to see if it was an acid, which makes bleach pretty stupid to use...but I didn't see any foaming.
TL;DR Found water in my 12V battery compartment. My car smells bad. Cleaning out water did not improve smell. Nothing in HVAC system, it is only clean air source in car. No signs of water ingress above 12v battery well. After rainstorm, no additional water found in battery well. Fender vent flaps in gusty wind, but still no new water.

I've got the hybrid battery out of the car and there is a decent amount of corrosion/acid on the copper contacts. I read that after cleaning them off with white vinegar and soaking in a baking soda/warm water mix... They spray some type of anti-corrosion spray on them.

My Touareg has Daytime running lights, and they are functioning, however the DRL indicator is not illuminated. Is it supposed to be illuminated all the time or only when the DRL malfunctions? If it is supposed to be on all the time, could it be a VAG-COM adjustable issue? The DLR in the instrument cluster never comes on, not even during start-up.

i just purchased a 2010 Camry i4 wtih 80k miles on it and it was involved in a accident with front end damage.
When i first turned on the car i noticed the radiator fans werent turning on so i took it to my mechanic who also noticed there was a leak coming from the water pump (after reading this a common problem with these cars) My mechanic took care of the radiator fans coming on (said it was some pinched wires probably from when the car was in a accident and that the fans were replaced prior to me buying the car) but said that my battery light is on and has checked the charging system of the car and everything looks fine.
He told me to drive around a few days and maybe its just the battery undercharged. Is there anything that i should look for before i go back to the shop such as common things ex:wiring or trouble shooting steps to go trough on these cars?Will hooking up a OBD II scanner give the exact codes to what exactly is causing the problems?

My T-reg has the winter pkg with the heated steering wheel. Is there some kind of indication light that comes on that lets you know the heat is on , I can't see any indication ,and it seems dumb to not have one . Like having heated seats w/o a indicator light and having to wait till your butt heats up to see if they're on.

I've just had a brake controller fitted to my 2006 Treg R5. Everything is working fine however when braking both of the caravan indicator lights also come on too (but not on my treg). The tow bar was fitted by the VW dealer and the brake controller was fitted by my local tow bar specialist. After spending two and a half hours checking wiring etc yesterday, we're no closer to a fix .

i just installed a low level adapter for a subwoofer in my Egg (non-vav). As i was reinserting the radio the hood indicator came on about 1" before "clicking" into place. I heard this could be a microsensor telling the alarm the radio is missing. I also had the interior lights shut on and off as i was working on to fix the problem.

How do you reset this check lights indicator in the MFI. I installed my euroswitch and 4 yr. old son pulled the switch all the way to turn on the rear fogs and thus...the error code.

I have a door closed indicator that is malfunctioning. The rub is I am leaving for a trip tomorrow and will be over warranty by the time I return. I have 49600 miles now and will add 800 over the WE. I have call VWOA and they are non-committal as to whether they will cover or not. I can show the dealer but they will not be able to look at until next week.

My battery indicator light is doing weird stuff. I have a secondary volt gauge that shows good voltage throughout. Checked posts and connections tight. At idle the warning light is off. Under slow acceleration it starts to flash with the frequency increasing with greater acceleration until it finally goes solid with normal acceleration and highway speeds.

All's going well for 10 miles and then I suddenly notice, the in-dash flasher indicator, is not working or clicking as I change lanes. The outside mirrors are fine - showing turn flashes. So, I pull off into a gas station and shut down the whole electric system, and pull the key out.
I reboot and start up, but still no change. I try to put the emergency button off/on...it works fine. I move the flasher stick back and forth. But still no turn flasher indicator, on the inside dash. So, I guess it's a blown fuse and I will attend to it Sunday in daylight. We go to the restaurant, have dinner and get back into this scrambled egg. I stick the key in and ACHTUNG IT WORKS!
