I am hearing a constant buzzing sound from the computer on the dashboard (where the time/temperature etc...). It is annoying, how can I get rid of that sound, or everyone has the same sound?
View 2 RepliesI have a very strange sound coming from the multi color display in the instrument cluster. Whenever the display is on (no need to start the car, just open the door) there is a humming or buzzing sound. Not very loud, but loud enough to get on my nerves.
View 15 RepliesIt goes on and off with a buzzing sound. less so with the radio than with the satellite radio which is wired through the cd plug in the trunk..
Sometimes goes back on when you hid a bump like there's a poor connection.
So, I go out to my car, unlock, open the driver side door... zzzzzzzz (not a hisssssssss) comes from under the car towards the rear suspension. I do not have the air suspension, so I'm guessing that the car thinks I do and probably has modules for it. One of those modules happens to be thinking I do and is trying to lower the car for my entry?

View 12 RepliesOutside store Touareg will not start, dead no power just a clicking sound and no lights on the dashboard. Jump start and work ok, as soon as I stop no power. Do I need new battery? The battery indicators starts low when jump start but stays at 13 after running.
View 3 RepliesI've noticed over the past two mornings while driving to my office a sort of whirring sound for lack of a better word. It has only happened in the mornings. It has been low to mid-50s temp. The sound seems to be coming from the left side of the engine bay or inside the dashboard. Basically like a fan sound but this happens even without my HVAC activated. It doesn't seem like a big deal but the reason I mention this is because it's the first time I've even experienced this since buying my Touareg last year.
Interestingly, after shutting the engine off and restarting, the sound goes away. This particular sound is definitely noticeable, even with my stereo on.
My wifes 04 v6 touareg make noises now like either a computer crunching files or an electrical fire is about to happen?? the weird thing is when i turn off the display on the dash thru the menu it stops making the noise ?? its not loud enough to hear with the stereo on but it is when its off. the sound itself seems to be coming from the center of the display area over the steering wheel.

1. When the air is on, it only comes out of the dashboard vents. If I change the flow to be all on the floor, defrost windshield, or anything else, it won't change the direction of the air; it continues to come out of the dashboard front air vents.
2. There is a buzzing that lasts from start for about 10 sec. It then quits. It will come back on for a couple seconds and then go off. It is only in the cabin; cannot be heard outside the car. If we turn off the air, the buzzing stops, but not immediately.
I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey that is making an intermitent buzzing noise that appears to be coming from the dashboard. It sounds like an old speedometer going bad but this car should have a computerized speedometer. It appears to be weather related as it does not happen in the winter. When it happens, the buzzing is reduced if you slow down the car a bit. It can vary in intensity and can get very loud. I took the car to the dealer and they want to take the dashboard off....
View 6 RepliesMy friend stopped into see me today cause he thinks I'm a VW guru. His LF tire was at 34 psi and the other 3 were at 44psi. Of course his low tire pressure light came on, but he told me he used to be able to see his tire pressure under the comfort portion of his computer display. He scrolled down to show me it wasn't there anymore. Where it went? He now knows why the light keeps coming on cause he has a leak. He should be able to monitor it I presume.
View 3 RepliesJust the other day, I'm driving along and flashed my lights at another car so they can make a left turn into a parking lot. No big deal. However, when doing that, I noticed a buzzing noise when I pulled back the lever to engage the lights.
After I got home, I tested things out and found:
With my Euroswitch, I don't have any lights on during the day (no DRLs, etc). This is when this buzzing noise occurs. As it was getting dark out, I also noticed that when I pull the lever back to engage the high beams (i.e., to flash them) the dashboard would light up (like if I turned on the lights normally).
Now, if I have the park lights or headlights on already (which includes the dashboard), and flash the high beams, the buzzing noise does NOT happen.
It also doesn't happen when I push the lever forward to enable the high beams fully. The buzzing sound seems to come from the lower left, around my left knee area or near the steering column.
Why this is happening, and what the cause might be? What is the possible part that needs to be replaced?
I have a 2004 Jetta GLI 1.8T 6-speed. Seems like the old signature is gone.
Background: I brought my R in for service last week because the AC stopped working. I ended up needing the compressor and the fans replaced. I picked my car up and drove it home with no problems. The next day I drove it I started to hear a rather loud buzzing noise that sounded like something was rattling loose from the front passenger side of the car behind the dashboard. It was loud enough to hear over the stereo while driving on the freeway.
Thinking something was wrong with the newly installed fans I brought the car back to the dealership and now they're telling me the fuel pump needs to be replaced. From what I understand, the fuel pump is in the back of the car under the rear seats and attached to the gas tank. I explained to them that I'm a bit confused because the sound is clearly coming from the front of the car but the mechanic there insists what I'm hearing is the fuel pump. Am I crazy or does what they're saying sound reasonable?
I tried looking at a couple YouTube videos that had sound of a VR6 fuel pump gone bad but the sound was nothing like what I was hearing.
I posted recently because my '05 Touareg had been in twice for a "coolant overheating" error when the car was driven less than three minutes after a long cold start. They replaced the main computer and I had it back for a week and everything was fine. This morning, the same error occured. We took it in. When my husband drove it to the dealer, the warning went away after several minutes. They said that the error never logged on the computer and there's nothing wrong.
One person had responded last time with the sensor issue but got it resolved. I am really concerned about the possible problem that they can't seem to fix. They seem to be ok with it.
I am experiencing a buzzing rattle coming from the left corner of the dashboard in the area near the horizontal speaker. It's not loud but it's annoying. It only happens when the car is moving. It doesnt seem to be affected by the audio system being powered on or off. The best thing I can think of to describe it the sound a Geiger counter makes, but not as loud.
View 17 RepliesI've got a 2011 F-350, when i'm on the driving over 60 mph i hear this humming or buzzing noise coming from around the dash. It kind of comes and goes depending on the wind direction or if I'm passing a semi. Thinking it may be coming from around the windshield seal.

If you put your ear to the steering wheel, does everyone's MFI make a buzzing noise? Kinda like a computer screen noise. Just seems a bit excessive to me, but maybe that is just how they are.
View 2 RepliesProud new owner of V8 Touareg here. I am hearing a faint "electrical" buzz from the 3" LCD Panel on the instrument panel. Noticeable while the engine is off, while engine is running, anytime the LCD panel is on. Dealer tells me this is a normal noise. Is this "normal" for the MFI?
View 4 RepliesOK started getting a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay on the drivers side. Cant locate it from outside the car, only when sitting in the car stationary with the engine on. Does not do it from cold, only once the engine is warm. ie drive for 30 minutes, park up, run some chores for say 20 minutes, get back in car and then drive off, when i then say stop at some lights, i hear this buzzing sound (sounds like a pump or motor). Normally goes away after about 10/15 minutes. This started happened after last vist to dealership when they replaced my electric harness and also fixed some o rings on the water pump. Wondering if it is related to the last visit or something new maybe on the air suspension or what.
