The air suspension is auto adjusting in comfort mode....The front end will drop and raise occasionally, and the "comfort mode" ride seems stiffer than it should be sometimes....
View 6 RepliesI have a 2001 santafe with a 4 cyl The code 102 was up so I replaced the mass air flow censer . I go on a test drive and the light stays off , but when I go to re start it again the light come on and stays on, with the same code. The only strange thing is the idle will raise for a min then drop down to almost a stall.
View 2 RepliesI know the Touareg has a problem with the rear seat belt locking and making it impossible to raise the rear seat after it's folded down. In fact, that happened to me and I'm going to have it fixed next week. Now, however, the front passenger side seat belt is stuck about 2/3 of the way out. Can't pull out more and won't retract.

View 3 RepliesI have a 1997 Saturn SL1 with 100k. Every so often the RPMs will drop by 500-1000 or so for a second and then come back up to normal. This happens both when stopped at a light and while accelerating, and doesn't seem to happen predictably. I've already changed the filters and cleaned out the IAC, without any success. I've sprayed the obvious connection points in hopes of locating a potential vacuum leak, also without any luck. Other ways to locate a potential vacuum leak that wouldn't be overly time-intensive?
View 7 RepliesI recently bought a 2006 STX with the 4.6 engine. Occassionally, when stopping at a light, the engine will stall. I took it to the dealer where I bought it and he put it on the computer and found that once on a test drive the RPM's dropped to 490, but it did not stall. He said everything checked out fine and thought it might be a carbon build up, since the truck only has 27,000 miles on it and was driven only around town. He suggested a couple of tanks of higher octane fuel and a fuel additive to remove the carbon.

View 2 RepliesLike the title says, I want to raise the front of my 07 F350 about 2.5 inches to get it closer to level with the rear with out throwing the alignment out of wack if that's possible. Maybe some blocks to go on the front coils? or will I need new front coils that are a bit longer?

I bought my first vehicle last October, a '99 F-250 with a 6.8 V10. I later found out (AFTER hauling a big load of rocks in a dump trailer) that one of the bottom leaf springs was broken. So this winter I have been thinking on what I want to do about it when it warms up. This is pretty much on top of the "to do" list for my truck. I did make a thread about putting 1 ton springs under it, but I think I'll just stick with the regular 3/4 ton springs. So now this is where I have another question, and I think this pic will tell some of it:
Now I'm not sure if those rear springs are stock, but that rear end is way the heck up there! The truck itself is not level, the front looks to be correct height, but not the back. A buddy at school and I were talking about a leveling kit for the front. But the more I look at it, I think the rear end should come down. I don't want to get bigger tires, as I just put brand new Transforce AT's on the back and plan to put new ones on the front in the near future.
Another question of mine is, would this have been a truck ordered just for pulling a camper? It has holes for a fifth wheel hitch in the bed, the rear end sits high, and it didn't come with a tow package. The PO told me that he put the receiver hitch on it. I'm fixing up stuff on it one thing at a time. Springs just happen to be next on the list.
Got a Vr6 a couple weeks ago and recently the gauge has been acting strange. Few days ago the gauge went from normal to showing completely empty and did that for a couple days (gauge would just display normal and occasionally just drop straight to empty and sit there until restart) but yesterday it started just sitting on full. Even when restarted just goes to full. I assume its the sender unit ....
View 2 RepliesBrought my Touraeg in due to a/c occasionally blowing warm. Works 95% of the time. Also, while driving pops up warning light that says "Electronics: Consumers being shut off" this seems to somewhat coincide with the a/c issue. Dealer just called and said I have leaves in my system and need new pollen filter---- and not covered by warranty--- Does not make sense to me-- first we have covered parking and limited leaves in area--- also if leaves then why would it work perfectly sometimes and not others?
View 6 RepliesOur Egg will occasionally surge at steady speeds - i.e it will jerk fore and aft with no change in accelerator pedal settings. This is an intermittent problem that seems worse when ambient temperatures are low. It isn't yet annoying enough to warrant a trip to the dealer (they seem clueless about this car anyway!).
View 12 RepliesI have an 04 V6, 42,000 mi. There is an intermitent problem with the transmission. The MFI display doesn't hilite the transmission mode (P,R,N,D,S) or gear (1,2,3,4,5,6) and the tiptronic mode appears to be disabled. On occasion the transmission doesn't want to shift into higher gears. Seems to happen when the engine is cold (So Ca cold, not Mid West cold).

keyless locking/unlocking rarely works. Tried using the 2nd key for a day or so but no difference. No light in the remote or indicator in the dash telling me battery is dead...
The rear courtesy lights above the rear seats only work occasionally. All button settings seem to be set correctly to come on when th doors open but they don't . Most of the time you cant even turn them on manually but sometimes they work..
So I am in the process of removing my front silver grill to paint it and was wondering do I need to drop the whole bumper to get it off??
View 16 RepliesI've got a noise in the front end of my GLS (52K miles). It's kind of hard to make it happen, but I hear it 2-3 times a day. It doesn't usually happen hitting a bump, but is usually heard when the weight of the vehicle shifts, when there's a sudden incline or drop, like when pulling into a driveway or gas station.
I had a car with a motor mount issue once, which sounded similar. However, I actually had my motor swapped 5K ago, and my noise existed before that.
I have to get to the dealer (I believe 60K is the end of coverage for this kind of thing). I would like to have a little more info or suggestion of what to check, otherwise it will be "we don't hear anything."
Getting a sub-frame spacer and bolt kit tomorrow... Hopefully that will resolve the clunking sound I occasionally hear up front.. Everything is tight and solid up front, suspension-wise, so we'll see if this fixes the issue. If nothing else, it's a cheap 'mod'..
View 8 RepliesI have been hearing/feeling an occasional noise from my front end. Not a low-freq "thud" more like something sticky. Usually at very slow speeds, when turning the wheel, going over uneven pavement, or pulling away from stop. It sounds and feels to me like a steering rack issue, but maybe CV joints? 40k miles, 6-spd manual no mods.
View 3 RepliesI can hear a strange noise from the front occasionally, independent to my operation. It sound like rolling a cassette tape in a old driver. The sound repeats every several minutes, and lasts about 5 seconds each time.
When I standing outside the car, it hears louder from under the bonnet.
My front heat controls work at start up occasionally. The heat will eventually come on in front after 15-30 minutes of the truck running. Needless to say this sucks for defrosting the front window during warm up. The rear controls work fine. I do have a couple that need replacing but the fan control isn't one. Temp & selectors. I've searched but haven't been able to find anything about same issue. Where to start?
