3 weeks in shop and still no end in sight regarding all the TSB and warranty work. One fix seems to lead to a new problem. Service guys are nice, but it sure is taking long. They thought it was nearly ready to go, but the latest error message showing up tells the driver to "put the vehicle in P" while driving.
View 9 RepliesWhen I was in the touareg a few minutes before everything was fine. Then I unlocked it got in and inserted key and the steering will not unlock, ignition will not turn on, or starter crank. The battery voltage is fine all accessories work. I tried to disconnect the ground strap and reconnected, no change. When I closed the door I saw the red message come on stating "Steering Defective Workshop". The message doesn't always reappear.

2004 V8 Touareg. Was getting all the "low voltage" error messages. "workshop fault" "headlight adjust" "brake system". Then one day I used my second key and get a "Key Battery not Found" message.
Dealer says the "low voltage" error messages have to be reprogrammed out of the computer and cannot be simply cleared. FYI I have a vagcom. They say there is no fix and I can either pay for a new battery or come back in to have them reprogram when they come up again. Is this true? New battery makes no sense to me as the battery is only two yrs old. Seems like quite the hassle as any cold weather and not starting up the car for a couple of days and I got to make a trip to the dealer. Is there a fix for this?
"Key Battery not Found"- Never saw this message until I used my second key. It obviously has a key battery since it opens the doors. Dealer is stumped and they wanted me to pick up the vehicle telling me that it was fine and the message didn't mean anything.
I have a 2004 TReg, V8, and air suspension. In the past three weeks I have gotten the following error message displayed for about five seconds each of the six times it has appeared on the MFI:
"Electrics: Consumers are switched off."
Nothing seems to happen while driving; the radio and everything else seems to keep working.
It happened once while I was driving around in low differential. The message read something like:
Drive More Slowly or shift to High Differential
I was only doing about 5mph when this happened and haven't been able to reproduce the error.
This is only the third unique error message my Touareg has shown me in its first 8 months of life. I wonder how many different error messages are programed into this car. (I bet there are many). I'm not being critical. I find it fascinating. I have never driven a car that was so in touch with its inner workings as this Touareg.
I purchased a 04 V8 with 22K miles. Very nice ride and huge upgrade from a Grand Cherokee. After noticing slow cranking, I took it by a dealer where we tested the battery. Electronics and battery tested OK. Dealer advised to lock the doors at night when parked in my garage.
I am still having slow cranking, and now experiencing the Traction Control module flashing and error message on the screen. ( It will disappear after I restart in a few minutes.) I am also experiencing a message that the computer is shutting down the consumer electronics.
Alternator showing 13.75-14 volts at first start up, returns to 13+ volts after 15 minutes. Cables, poor battery? I want it to start after sitting at the airport for several days.
I posted recently because my '05 Touareg had been in twice for a "coolant overheating" error when the car was driven less than three minutes after a long cold start. They replaced the main computer and I had it back for a week and everything was fine. This morning, the same error occured. We took it in. When my husband drove it to the dealer, the warning went away after several minutes. They said that the error never logged on the computer and there's nothing wrong.
One person had responded last time with the sensor issue but got it resolved. I am really concerned about the possible problem that they can't seem to fix. They seem to be ok with it.
I picked up my V8 yesterday. Overall great car. I spent several hours at the dealer working out little things and doing some shakedown driving. So I finally am ready to pull the trigger. I pay, they hand me the keys, and I am off. It's now dark, the dealership is closing, and I have to drive home. I get in the car and the floor lights in the front (where your feet are) and in the floor of the rear cargo area won't go off. I play with every control in the car and cant get them off. The overhead lights turn off - no problem. Then I get home and turn the car off. They still wont go off. I have to pull the fuse to get them off so it wont run the battery down. Then I notice that the red instrument panel will not go off either - end up pulling that fuse too.

I have read some other forms and they are all over the place on what to do or where to start. what they are saying is true --- the car acts sluggish and seemed like it switched into 4wd. Where to start?? a sensor ?? some said the encoder motor?? even the 4wd on the dash being replaced??
View 6 RepliesI got this problem that just seems to have surfaced within the past week. The first time I noticed, I started the car and the navigation showed my position about 12 miles away in the next town over. Now its been doing the same thing nearly every time I start up the navigation. I can correct it sometimes by going into settings/position on map and manually moving the cursor to my correct location. I say sometimes it works, because 50% of the time I can move the cursor to the position I'm at and it will then work just fine but other times the nav will have my heading completely wrong (I'm going north, but nav has me going south) and it will not correct. Sometimes it will just slowly drift off my real position and eventually it won't even be on a road anymore.
Tonight, no matter how many times I tried to correct the nav by moving the cursor, it kept my heading well off of where it should be, practically 180 degrees from the way I was actually going. So as soon as I started moving again the maps would be totally off.
I have the "check stop lamp" message showing up. Both right and left brake lights are fine but the third brake light is totally out. I've heard of other Volvos having issues with the wiring harness near the hinge.

First we thought it was missing the DVD then we discovered the DVD port in the truck and through some trial and error got the DVD (#U52) out. We are proceeding with the logic that the DVD is bad.
View 6 RepliesSo I got my IS350 F-Sport AWD a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. I just passed the break in period a few days ago . I just had a question about something happened today though. Basically I was on the highway and I was coming off of an off-ramp at about 90 km/h (~55 mph). This was a relatively sharp ramp but I was slowing down as I entered it. Anyway, the car started beeping and I saw a red message in the center of the gauge.
Unfortunately, it was there for a split second and I didn't get to read what it said. Later, after parking the car, I checked the "messages" view in the gauge cluster and there was nothing there. There was also no check engine light or anything on after either. The car seemed to drive normally before, during, and after that. Was it the VSC/TC system? Or is it something else?
I believe this is what I saw. Is it possible for it to have detected the curb coming up and that I was going fast? Does the Canadian F-Sport 3 package even have a PCS? I don't see anything about a PCS when I look at what's included in the package, but I know that it does have the radar cruise control/rear cross-traffic alerts so it doesn't seem out of the question that it could detect the curb.
My Hyundai Santa Fe 2006 V6 3.5L shows error code P2100. I cannot for the life of me find the ETS relay. Ive scoured the net but just found vague drawings and pics that didn't show ETS relay. I would also like to know is the ETS relay also known as the fail safe relay or is that a separate relay. Ive seen pics of the fail safe relay but none for the ETS relay. If there is such a relay, exactly where it is located?
View 2 RepliesI recently purchased a second-hand Prius T4 (2007 model) and I noticed that the red triangle exclamation was showing on the dashboard. Initially, my local mechanic found a P3000 error code and a B1801 error code.
I ran techstream on it just last night and the main errors that came out were:
Current codes:
Srs airbag B1801 - open circuit in driver side circuit
Air conditioner B1421
Transmission control - C2318
History codes:
HV battery - POA84
I also have just found out that this car was in a major collision in 2012. The air bag light is constantly on, along with the red triangle exclamation, on the dashboard. The fuses for the battery fan kit, horn, and air bag needed replacing (I think all three but definitely two of these).
I got this message today, twice as I was pulling out of the driveway but it went away both times. After the 1st I stopped and pulled the key out of my purse. It came back on a 3rd time and right as I was trying to determine if it was significant enough to pullover when the hood flew up and hit the windshield. The hood was closed and there were no other messages.
