1 Fault Found:
02409 - Brake for Differential Locking Motor
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
Center diff wouldn't lock, but rear would... it worked part of the time, but would get the error and unlock itself.... cleared the code while we were out there, and it would come back.... I will be taking it to the dealer sometime soon.....
So of course it has to happen 3 weeks after my warranty expires. My CEL comes on and I have it read and the result is P0440. I find out that my wife has a habit of topping off the gas tank and so I am thinking that she has probably ruined the charcoal canister. It is something easy to replace?
I have an 06 limited edition... Yes, she will not be topping off any gas tank anymore.
I am getting error code po457 Evaporative emissions error, I am told the canister purge valve could be bad.
View 4 RepliesMy 2005 Mustang w/ 4.6L is giving a P0456 code and also won't let me fill it with gas completely. I think I've narrowed it down to the canister vent or purge valve. Looking for narrowing down which would cause the gas fill issue.

View 3 RepliesOkay, I had this before for the right side, and dealer changed bulb. Cost me alot. So, when I got this message recently for the left, went to my mechanic friend. Thought the bulb in question is the fog light in the lower bumper. He took out the old one, which was blown btw, and replaced it. Still getting the message. Not sure why.
How to address this? Are the curve light bulbs infact the driving lights, or is it something else. Thought it was driving lights as the curve feature is disabled if you turn them on. Also, the bulb was in fact blown. I guess I could have had two bulbs out, but that's unlikely.
I am driving to work and I get all these errors ESP, Air Con stops working, steering wheel functions do not work. The final error workbench with a key symbol. It actually reset itself once while driving. What the hell is going on? Not a good start for a one month old Touareg.

View 5 RepliesA friend of mine replaced the lights (non-xenon) on his Touareg with a HID conversion kit complete with balasts and everything. I believe the installer wired everything correctly because everything works fine. However, the car keeps getting a "check lights" error. Would a vag be a solution?

They thought it was nearly ready to go, but the latest error message showing up tells the driver to "put the vehicle in P" while driving.

2004 V8 Touareg. Was getting all the "low voltage" error messages. "workshop fault" "headlight adjust" "brake system". Then one day I used my second key and get a "Key Battery not Found" message.
Dealer says the "low voltage" error messages have to be reprogrammed out of the computer and cannot be simply cleared. FYI I have a vagcom. They say there is no fix and I can either pay for a new battery or come back in to have them reprogram when they come up again. Is this true? New battery makes no sense to me as the battery is only two yrs old. Seems like quite the hassle as any cold weather and not starting up the car for a couple of days and I got to make a trip to the dealer. Is there a fix for this?
"Key Battery not Found"- Never saw this message until I used my second key. It obviously has a key battery since it opens the doors. Dealer is stumped and they wanted me to pick up the vehicle telling me that it was fine and the message didn't mean anything.
I have a 2004 TReg, V8, and air suspension. In the past three weeks I have gotten the following error message displayed for about five seconds each of the six times it has appeared on the MFI:
"Electrics: Consumers are switched off."
Nothing seems to happen while driving; the radio and everything else seems to keep working.
It happened once while I was driving around in low differential. The message read something like:
Drive More Slowly or shift to High Differential
I was only doing about 5mph when this happened and haven't been able to reproduce the error.
This is only the third unique error message my Touareg has shown me in its first 8 months of life. I wonder how many different error messages are programed into this car. (I bet there are many). I'm not being critical. I find it fascinating. I have never driven a car that was so in touch with its inner workings as this Touareg.
I am getting a CEL and the error code is p2187 engine too lean at idle. I have been reading around to try and find the issue, some seem to say PCV could be the issue. I have also read a test would be try and remove the oil cap while car is idling. I did this test and the oil cap was difficult to remove and the idle got really rough once removed.
View 2 RepliesMy r is throwing a p0601 sum error. I clear, it comes right back. I know the previous owner has it chipped at a garage that wasn't linked to any brand. I was planning on putting an apr/giac tune over it but now I can't (no money). I know this might mean I need a new ecu. Right now I plan on going to vw on monday and having them reflash the ecu bringing it back to stock...if it returns then i guess i need a new ecu... This sound right?

View 2 RepliesIt happened to passat. Once I hit about 75mph on highway I get a stop engine (oil presser low light). It flashes than goes off once I lower my speed. I checked all fluids are normal. It throws a 12 code an says oil passage blocked, cam positioning sensor, skipped timing chain. These are what the code says could be wrong with it. The car runs fine with no hesitation at idle or normal city driving. I have already flushed the oil with cleaner, and still getting the light.
