Any spec sheet for installing the doors or aligning them. I have been having a problem with the driver's door not sitting properly at the bottom left corner along the A pillar. This causes the first part of the triple seal system [the Touareg has] to be compromised, thus letting in water if submerged.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 Touareg TDI european model, with an anoying whistling sound somewhere in the drivers door or the b-pillar. The sound is not constant, but change according to the settings to the fan. I have been to the VW dealer, but they have not found any solution to my the problem yet.
View 3 RepliesSo it looks like my truck has a new issue. I thought I had picked up some white paint from the road, and somehow kicked it up onto the black underside of my driver's door. When I looked closer to see how I could clean it up, I realized it is actually the black coating peeling off of the white paint. What I have is exposed white body paint in a stripe on the bottom of my door. I checked it a little more closely, and there are several other areas on the door where this is starting to happen as well.

I think I remember something about a vent or breathing hole in the b-pillar that's supposed to be open...but when covered causes wind roar at elevated highway speeds...

View 3 RepliesI can lock the doors with the key fob but it does not beep. The alarm sets, and the passenger doors all lock, but the drivers door does not. I have checked that all doors are closing properly, and the transmission is in park.
I also tried both key fobs with the same result. The alarm LED flashes about 6 times before glowing steady - is this a code of some sort?
I am having a problem with my 2007 R32 manual,over the last few weeks its developed a whining noise in what seems to sound from the rear left side,more so when driving around a left hand corner (weight is off the noisy side),or when i let my foot off the gas and let the car run,ive jacked it up and when I grab the back left drive shaft and shake it, I found there's a bit of play on the side going into the diff, there's 70000 miles on it and no problems to date, looking for some info on what problem could be?
View 6 RepliesHaving issue with the 2006 Touareg instrument clusters. The upper left hand corner of the instrument cluster is getting dim. Also, my wife was driving to work the other day, and she stated that she heard what sounded like electrical arcing behind the console. Just curious. She has had the touareg in for service for the air bag error, which they had to order a part. Also, a mysterious headlight error keeps popping up, but then goes away. I don't want a fireball touareg.

View 2 RepliesHaving persistent wind noise from around the driver's door right at the "A" pillar. I've been to two different dealerships with no resolution. I don't need any home remedy solutions as I've done just about everything humanly possible to fix it myself. Tape, 1/4" vinyl tubing, foam insulating tape, moving the door striker nothing works. VWOA is now involved and they are clueless as well.

Car just rolled 60K. Only odd thing going on is that the "puddle light" down in the corner of the driver's door will not come on. Ever. Bulb is okay. It won't even come on when the passenger door is opened, which I totally don't get. I mean, if the driver's door lock is toast, what's going on with that? My logic tells me that if the driver's door lock is the cause here, opening the other door would light that light.
No weird alarm behavior, no re-locking after 30 seconds or whatever it is (as though after unlocking with remote that door has not been opened), no missing fuel-pump-priming whirr. The only other thing I've noticed is that after opening the driver's door, all the other interior lights dim in about 25 seconds, rather than however many it is after the passenger door is opened (a bit longer).
My old (MkIV) GTI had the driver's door lock check out when the car was about 5 years old. But it had alarming and locking issues, which are more the classic symptoms.
Having the problem of when the A/C is on about 1/2 way (3-4 bars), you can hear a kind of turbulent whistling noise behind the drivers seat? I think its coming from the drivers side passenger vent that's in the B pillar.
At first I thought it was a fan motor that was going bad, but was informed by the dealer that there is no fan there. They thought it might be a duct not making good connection with another duct and air escaping.
My dealer is clueless (of course) and said that they could not find a TSB on this problem.
Whistling sound from the pillar vents behind the driver and passenger sides? I get the whistling sounds from the passenger side when the fan is on a certain speed.
View 4 RepliesSo, I go out to my car, unlock, open the driver side door... zzzzzzzz (not a hisssssssss) comes from under the car towards the rear suspension. I do not have the air suspension, so I'm guessing that the car thinks I do and probably has modules for it. One of those modules happens to be thinking I do and is trying to lower the car for my entry?

View 6 RepliesDoor on the T-reg that is hard to get latched completely? I'm finding a need to reopen/slam the driver's door on a regular basis. Is this something the dealer can "adjust" for me? What would it involve? I don't think the other three doors need to be slammed anywhere near as hard.
View 1 RepliesI'll be sitting at a stop light and I'll start hearing this ticking sound which seems to come from the rear of the driver door, or perhaps the B pillar. Opening and shutting the door will make it go away for a short time, but it returns by the time I get to the next light.
It's very steady, about one tick per second. At highway speeds it's either non-existent or too faint to hear. I have a 2-door.
my moms 2004 touareg's switch to lock/unlock got pushed through and is in the door now i'm wondering what you have to remove to get where it would've fallen and how to get it off i've tried to snap it out but i don't want to pull it too hard and break anything else. also how do i get it back in position once i get to it
View 1 Replies-1 (-20 wind chill) here in South Bend this morning, and the Touareg did not like it. All but the drivers door frozen shut. All power windows frozen shut. Defective tyre warning went off once, and then check tyre pressure has stayed on. Wonder what She would do to me if She was not in a garage. The heated seats worked great, how I would have loved to have the heated steering wheel this morning.
This weather is heading East, hope you all on the coast are ready.
The drivers side rear door on our 2004 T'reg is stuck shut. Neither the interior or exterior door handle will open the door. I tried locking/unlocking it a few times, both with the remote and with the interior button. Is this a simple fix, or is it off to the dealership with me?
