my door is jammed on the passenger side I can't open it ... Dealer told me to try and play with the button on the key and hoping it will catch.. I've tried both inside and outside door handle with no success..

At least 3 times in the last 8 months of ownership I have shut the rear door on the passenger side and the car locked it's doors and armed the alarm.

View 5 RepliesSo I took my GTI in for TSBs, new wipers, the door seal creak and new wheels (old ones were not painted behind the spokes) - when it was returned to me, I noticed (after I got home) the red door stripe on the passenger side would not light up. At one point they had taken that door panel off to see if it was creaking instead of the seals (which of course, it was not) and I assume that they forgot to connect something, or unplugged something accidentally. Any other suggestion, like a magical fuse I can replace? I so don't want to travel 60 miles back to this guy. And not only did they not fix the seals, the noise is worse than before, I think from them messing with the doors. But anyway, I'm looking for possible DIY fixes.

If you lift the locking button it pulls itself back down and if you try to open the door from either inside or outside nothing happens, except lift the locking button up and down. I've taken the inside panel off as much as I can but don't know what to do now to open the door.
View 4 RepliesI have a strange problem with my front left (driver door) doorlock. I've changed the speaker, so i hade to remove the door panel. When I try to reassemble the door panel and the door lock I have some problems. I get everything in place, but the problem is that the door lock gets jammed. When I only close the door (not locking the door) I can open the door. But when I lock the door, then unlock it, I don't manage to open the door. I then have to fast pull the outside two times real hard, and then the door opens. I have discovered the problem. The door seems fine when I remove this cable: But if I remove the cable, I can't open the door from the outside.
View 1 RepliesI sent my T in last week because I was not getting "cold" air out of the passenger side vents, at least not as cold as the drivers side. The Dealer has acknowledged the problem but is having a hard time (with wvoa) finding a solution. They've returned the T to me until they can find a fix, hoping to keep from removing the entire dash.
I ran some tests of my own this weekend. When in ECON mode, both sides put out the same temp; only when the compressor is on do the temps vary. I have heard gurgling in the dash since I bought the T and when in ECON the gurgle goes away (compressor is off).
Question: Could the system be low on frion (or whatever coolant)? Are there two separate evaporators for dual zone? I'm thinking (hoping) yes on both. Maybe one evaporator is getting a full mix of coolant and the other is not......could this be the gurgling I keep hearing?
I'll bring the T in tomorrow and ask them to recharge the system if any of you agree with this theory. I hate to think the dealer will have to rip the entire dash apart to fix this situation.
My wife tried to close the hatchback door on our 2010 Prius I, something was in the way, she forced it and now I can't get the door to unlock. I tried the manual door release which is small metal lever on the lock assembly (as covered in the user manual); however, the lock won't release the striker. I've unbolted the lock assembly to see if the striker was jammed in the lock mechanism. I can now rock the lock assembly back and forth and I don't see any foreign objects in the locking mechanism, but still cannot open the lock. How to manually open the lock mechanism (is there somewhere I can apply pressure to force the mechanism to open and release the striker)? Again, the metal lever discussed in the user guide does not work.

- the dashboard curve above instrument panel creaks constantly (even when the car is torqued in a slow turn)
- right rear passenger door creaks where panel meets doorframe and where wood trim meets door panel
- storage box above center vents creaks
- passenger door creaks where leather patch meets door panel
- smalls wood strip above light switch is damn near falling off (not just wood part, the entire aluminum/wood panel)
- some kinda thump (sounds more substantial than trim) from the rear over larger bumps.
- top compartment closure of armrest leaves a 1/4" play that creaks when even the slightest pressure is applied.
and I am sure several more I just cant locate
Bottom line, I waiting for an '05 because I thought they would have the bugs out, but this things is miserable. Even the smallest of ripples in smooth pavement sends my ears pointing toward some awful creak or rattle. And even if I bring these things up to the dealer, 1) will they be willing to fix and 2) is it really in their realm of ability? I just want my car to be quiet like it was designed, right now sounds worse than the 120k miles 97 chevy suburban my friend has.
Recently the door on the navigation controls has gotten jammed shut. I am looking for instructions or a diagram showing how to disassemble that portion of the dash so I can repair the jam. I have a 09 Avalon XLS.
View 4 RepliesMy wife and I were rear ended over a year ago. Although the damage was mainly cosmetic to the bumper covering, it did cause a slight bend in the frame enough to prevent the rear door from opening. How to get this straightened enough to at least get the door to open and close.
My thoughts, the bend is not that severe it turns out, but I was thinking a torch at the point where the frame is bent and leverage pulling up on the bumper at each side.
I just got a 04 Touareg and I have the strange issue that the back passenger door won't lock. All other doors close and when I open this one door the alarm goes off. I don't have keyless entry; I tried using the remote, the normal lock on the drivers side as well as all four door lock switches, nada. Surprisingly when I unlock the car I hear a click inside the door so it seems there is at least a electrical connection. I already checked the cable plugs going from the door but they all seem to be in place.

View 4 RepliesWe recently had the blower motor replaced in my wife's 2011 CPO Hybrid. What we've noticed in the past, and which is still happening, is that with the car in park and the air conditioning blasting away, when the passenger door is opened the air conditioning stops blowing and only resumes a second or two after the door is closed. The typical scenario is something like this. Leaving lunch with the kids, I put one in the back seat and hop in the front to turn the car on. A/C starts going while wife is buckling up the other kid, when she closes the back door and opens the front passenger door the A/C stops blowing as if it completely turns off. She closes her door and it comes back on. Is this some fancy feature of the Hybrid or is something still busted?

View 1 RepliesI hear the electrical activity of the door lock mechanism.....locking and unlocking the door but the door latch is "frozen" closed and will not release. Inner and/or exterior door handles fail to release the latch no matter how many times they are pulled. Red Led on the top of the door pannel functions normally.
View 4 RepliesOkay, "check lights" idiot light came on today and I discovered my passenger side DRL/low beam is out. I assumed the bulb must be bad but when I started the car up again, the light came on briefly, then off, and then flickered, ending up off.
I'm now assuming that this is not a bulb issue, but a ballast or something my Ford truck doesn't have. Now what do I do to fix it?
Just found out the passenger side is completely soak. I brought it in to a mechanic and he figure it was a sunroof clog. The ac water is coming out, but he poured like 2 bottles of water on the sunroof and only like a couple of drops came out. Should I be worried about getting wet under the passenger seat?
