I've read the manual and can't find anything about defrosting ice and snow (which we had here in Salt Lake yesterday) from the mirrors on the door. Am I missing something or did VW leave this vital item out of production???
View 11 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius III and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the side mirrors defrosted when the rear defroster was turned on. I looked in the owners manual and it said if equipped. Which Prius models do not have these defrosters, the package II? My mirrors do not have the little defroster icon, but I'm almost positive it must have them.
View 6 RepliesIf you have turn the engine off if there is a way to close the windows and the side mirrors without putting the key in the lock. Under the steering wheel there are 2 small switches, left and right. When I press the one on the left the light on the steering wheel goes on and off. What the one on the right do???

View 6 RepliesMy car has a bad whistle sound from the sidemirrors if I travel at over 40mph, I heard someone else had the same problem and the dealer fixed it but putting something on the mirror.... is there a TSB on this? I'm going to the dealership next week and i would like to see if he can fix it. List of things I have.
- Sometimes when i enter my car and start, my seats don't move back to the previous setting....... I had to hit "1" to get it to move back. it fails 3 out of 10 tries.
- Wind noise from the side mirrors, especially when over 40mph..... whistling sound.
- dash vibration when the weather is cold.... Not sure about this one.
- See if the dealer will turn off my DRL for me.
I believe it is a great feature to automatically adjust the side view mirrors downward when the car is put into reverse. One question, Does the passenger side mirror the only mirror which adjusts downward? My drivers side mirror does not move at all.
View 4 RepliesI'd like to disable my rear window defroster but keep my heated mirrors. Reason being I don't won't my rear window to explode when I turn it on. I have a 2011 bought a couple of months ago. Could I pull the fuse and still have the mirrors on? I rarely use the back window as I use to side mirrors. Drive a 18 wheeler for a living.
View 14 RepliesI bought a used 2013 F150 Limited. The truck only had 24,000 miles on it and is still under the 36/36 warranty.
I tried to use the rear defroster and the button never stayed on. As I started to investigate the truck through the owners manual I realized that it was supposed to come with heated mirrors, standard equipment on the limited, and it shows them on the VIN build out. It does not have the heated mirrors installed.
I take it to my local dealer to get the rear defroster fixed and have the mirrors installed and the dealer won't do it. I have to call Ford and open a case. I do this and Ford rejects my claim since I bought it used.
To me this shows a very poor business ethic and is disrespectful to a long time loyal Ford customer. To be honest this has really ticked me off and completely turned me off towards Ford.
Defroster/heater fans quit without warning. Heat continues to flow from vents but volume not enough to keep windows defrosted. All fuses fine.

View 2 RepliesHaving the problem of when the A/C is on about 1/2 way (3-4 bars), you can hear a kind of turbulent whistling noise behind the drivers seat? I think its coming from the drivers side passenger vent that's in the B pillar.
At first I thought it was a fan motor that was going bad, but was informed by the dealer that there is no fan there. They thought it might be a duct not making good connection with another duct and air escaping.
My dealer is clueless (of course) and said that they could not find a TSB on this problem.
When I turn on the heat or defroster I hear this humming noise coming from the front of my touareg, is this normal? I have a 04 v8....
View 5 RepliesSo, I go out to my car, unlock, open the driver side door... zzzzzzzz (not a hisssssssss) comes from under the car towards the rear suspension. I do not have the air suspension, so I'm guessing that the car thinks I do and probably has modules for it. One of those modules happens to be thinking I do and is trying to lower the car for my entry?

View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 Touareg TDI european model, with an anoying whistling sound somewhere in the drivers door or the b-pillar. The sound is not constant, but change according to the settings to the fan. I have been to the VW dealer, but they have not found any solution to my the problem yet.
View 3 RepliesDoor on the T-reg that is hard to get latched completely? I'm finding a need to reopen/slam the driver's door on a regular basis. Is this something the dealer can "adjust" for me? What would it involve? I don't think the other three doors need to be slammed anywhere near as hard.

View 1 Replies-1 (-20 wind chill) here in South Bend this morning, and the Touareg did not like it. All but the drivers door frozen shut. All power windows frozen shut. Defective tyre warning went off once, and then check tyre pressure has stayed on. Wonder what She would do to me if She was not in a garage. The heated seats worked great, how I would have loved to have the heated steering wheel this morning.
This weather is heading East, hope you all on the coast are ready.
At least 3 times in the last 8 months of ownership I have shut the rear door on the passenger side and the car locked it's doors and armed the alarm.
