My Touareg developed a dash squeak last week. It seems like it's coming from where the dash and windshield come together. It sounds like plastic rubbing against glass.
View 2 RepliesEvery time my wipers go they chatter or bounce on the glass as they go across. Even when there is a TON of water on the windshield it will still do this... though not as much. It seems to happen more at the bottom of the wiper.
I don't know if it is a design flaw with the wipers, if I just have a bad set of blades, or what could cause it. In the past with other cars I have only had this problem when I tried to wipe dry glass.
Here goes, I just took ownership in the last month of a Hyundai Accent GS(2000). Car's been going great, but I have now found an annoying issue with a vibration coming through the dash. When I'm accelerating in all gears (and esp up hill when the car is under pressure), a Vibration starts in the dash and stays until I am roughly over 3000 revs. I'm in Ireland, so the car is Right Hand Drive. The Vibration sounds like it is coming from behind the speedo clocks near to windscreen.
So far, I have removed the Center Console and Stereo and the Vibration stays there. I've reached in behind the console and cant find any vibration there. I have also driven with the speedo clocks removed and putting my hand into the space trying to find the vibration.....but no joy.
The vibration itself sounds like a plastic trim in the dash (or behind the dash), but it has my stomped! Can it be something in the engine causing it? Engine ticks over fine, not lumpy in anyway.
Wiper makes loud squeek noise.
My even chatters at the end, squeek and chatters.
Also, is there a way to turn off "Rain Sensor Wiper?" Is there another "Slow" setting?
Where another 09 owner had what he thought was a cold weather related squeak coming from the passenger side dash / windshield area. Mine does this and it's highly annoying. Here's what I've observed:
- seems to happen in cold temps, though I can't say what "cold" is...<40F perhaps?
- noticeable over bumps or whenever the car frame twists as a result of uneven road surface
- source seems to be the dash / windshield interface on the passenger side
- it's *possible* it may be coming from the top of the windshield as well
- it's very noticeable and highly irritating
Either with an 09 or earlier model? I cut a pool noodle and shoved it down between the glass and dash hoping the pressure would relieve whatever is rubbing. It appeared to work until the temps dropped into the 20s. Then it returned. I have a 2009 GLS, 5MT Sonata.
I know this will sound strange, but starting the other day, I notice that it sounds like sand is hitting my Treg windshield when traveling at highway speed. At first I thought it was coming from the truck in front of me, so I passed him, and it didn't stop. It is just about all the time now, and I cannot imagine what is causing this noise.
It is not incredibly annoying, but how will I know when I am being pelted by real sand? Any clues out there? With 48,000 miles on it, there is not much time left to get it under warranty.
I have a creaking noise that appears to be coming from the bottom part of the windshield or underneath the dash in that area.
View 6 RepliesLooking for the Part No. for the exterior plastic cover at the bottom of the front windshield. Mine is cracked on the front passenger side. Not sure what it's called but only a portion is exposed...the rest is hidden below the hood and it's attached via clips and (4) screws.

View 8 RepliesI've had my GTI for 2 months but just tonight I noticed some slight distortion in the passenger side of my windshield glass. It almost makes things like slightly "wavy". It would be hard to notice unless I pointed it out, but it's there. Now here's the funny thing, it can only be seen from the driver's side of the car. I sat in the passenger side and it looked totally fine. I also noticed that only the windshield is made by Vitro based in Mexico, the rest of the glass has Sekurit stamps, based (made?) in Germany. I'm wondering if this is considered normal or at least acceptable.
View 7 RepliesI recently got my windshield glass scratched by my windshield wipers so I cleaned the window and did an inspection. It turns out I got about 7 glass chipped holes. There is 1 right in front of the driver seat so I knew about that but I didn't know about the rest.
I also checked the whole front and it's the same issue. Chipped paint everywhere.
I know it's from highway tiny rocks but still, is the Toyota paint and glass so weak or is it just my car?
I've noticed "bubbles" in my rear windshield a while now. My car does NOT have any tint or film on it. You can only see it in a certain angle or with polarized glasses.What causing this?
View 4 RepliesOn both my front windshield as well as my rear window I see small shiny speckles in the glass when the sun is shining thru the glass particularly in early morning and later in the day when the sun angle is low. At first I thought it was tree sap but a thorough cleaning did nothing to improve it. So I used a claybar on the window thinking it may be some other type of contaminant and that did nothing either. The speckles are still there. I have not tried polishing the windshield and rear window.
View 8 RepliesOn my wife's 2012 SE Camry tonight there was a build up of frost on the inside of the front windshield. The windows weren't left open and there wasn't any water left in the car that I know about. We did get a couple inches of snow that morning/previous night but, I would expect the frost to be on the exterior of the window only and not both sides. I drive a 2010 jetta tdi and have worked the past 3 days in steady rain constantly getting in and out with wet shoes and my vehicle has no frost on the inside of the windshield. Call dealership? Seal issues? Heater core?

View 13 RepliesHaving issue with a moon roof rattle in the up position, sounds as if the glass is loose. If I slightly close the rattle stops. Not sure if I want lexus taking apart the moon roof/ head liner to repair. I may just live with it, but would like to get it looked at. 2011 LS 460 sport.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2013 GS350 thats lowered on Tanabe Springs and 20s. It looks nice but the only problem i have is rubbing against the plastic (that what it sounds like) lining in the fender well. This only happens when I make a quick left turn or U turn. The tire size is 245/35/20.

View 1 RepliesSo my lovely wife tells me that something sounds sounds like it is rubbing from underneath the hood of my Lexus. So I take it to the dealership and they tell me it's the the the tensioner for the timing belt needs to be replaced. So I have them replace it and In the process they tell me that it sounds like there is something wrong with the fuel pump but they were able to quiet down though I don't understand how. Anyway after I pick the car up it sounds exactly the same as it did when I left it, personally I don't feel like I should pay for labor on this repair but besides that I don't understand what this issue could be. It sounds like something is rubbing while the car is running.. Lexus 2002 ES300 ..
View 8 RepliesI have a weird rubbing/squeak noise from what it sounds like the rear. It occurs only after ive been driving for about an hour then it never goes away. Thought it was the pads so I put all new ones on. Maybe a bearing of some sort. I'm totally going nuts over this and cant pinpoint it!
View 14 Replies2012 Passat SEL ... I got new tires put on a few weeks ago and have a new rattle, sounds like glass tapping against glass or metal on metal. It only happens when I'm cruising around 65 mph. From where I am in the drivers seat, it sounds like it's coming from the drivers rear tire area or under/behind the center console/dash board. I know it's not a lot of info, but need to figure out what's going on.
