"Check lights" just popped up on the display. Low beam lights appeared very weak. Hooked VAG-COM, it said that the right xenon bulb is a problem. Strangely, high beam won't even turn on!? Pulled the right headlight assembly, checked the high beam bulb - no problem. Inspected the inside of the assembly - no visible problem. The xenon bulb looked almost burnt out.
View 3 RepliesToday I had the joy of covering 200+ miles on my W12 today. While I was out and about there were 3-4 times I went around a right hand turn somewhat quickly and a "check please lights" warning appeared on the instrument cluster. At the end of the day I inspected the exterior lights with all working or so it seems. I found it odd that this only appeared during sharp turns to the right.
View 10 RepliesI was on my way to work this morning when the car just stopped accelerating (or so it felt), all the dash lights came on, I pulled over to the side of the freeway (I was very lucky). Radio and a/c were still working. Powered off, powered on too soon a couple of times - the red triangle and check engine both came on again. Cooled my jets and gave it a few minutes, powered on and the red triangle was gone, but the check engine was still on. Drives perfectly, no problems w/either gas or hybrid engine.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 bottle fed EX 350. I am installing XM into it. SAT/AM button scrolls thru SAT 1 2 3. Display sometimes shows 184 or 255. Occasionally is says Radio Err, It has displayed "radio id" with nothing else, And I managed to get it to display a cryptic looking F W1 4 30 .

Siriusxm cannot work with my vin.
Cannot tune to ch0 as there is no XM preview going on.
I have an 05 V8 and was just on my way home from work driving on the expressway when suddenly my Phaeton completely and instantly died. It was running completely fine and then everything turned off and "system failure" was on the display. I coasted in neutral off the expressway and was able to come to a stop and place the gearshift in park but the key is completely unresponsive and I can't get the gear lever to move out of park. I'm guessing I'll need to get it towed to the dealer but I don't know how it can be towed in park. I have a VAG-COM so I can go up and run a scan but it it currently parked in a vacant lot and I need to get it moved quickly.
View 15 RepliesThe wife was driving the 07 XLE 4 cylinder the other morning. Temperature was around 2 F. She started the car. It started right up. Drove for around 5 minutes and shut the car off and went in to a store for 5 minutes. When she came back out and restarted the car an "E" appeared in the XLE's multifunction display and the low tire pressure light was also on. The car would not shift out of Park. The wife called me. I told her to shut it off and try restarting it. Same thing.
I then told her to shut it off and take the key out of the ignition and then try reinserting it and restarting it. That worked; it eliminated both codes and the car was able to be shifted normally out of Park. Since I still have about 10 months coverage left on my Platinum Extended Warranty the wife and I took the car over to the dealer. When I had my wife explain what happened to the dealer's service writer he just said I have never even heard of the "E" symbol. The tech said he never heard of it either. They did check out the car's shift/interlock system including the brake light switch, but could find nothing wrong.
05 v8 28k miles
Went out to my car at lunch today and the "Check Brake Lights" warning came on. I checked the lights and my top center brake light is out. No fuses are burned out.
My t-reg just show me "Check Lights" and I had check all the lights and can't find anything wrong with them... is this a common problem? All the lights and brake lights seems to work fine.

View 3 RepliesI've got a 2005 Touareg V-8, 17,200 miles. I've got the xenon lights and the problem is as follows. I started getting the "Check Lights" message on the MFI. I checked the lights and everything was on and working. I took the car for service and had the dealer check it out. Of course the dealer couldn't find anything.
They checked for fault codes and didn't find anything. Once I left the dealership the message came back on so I turned around and went back to the dealer. I left the car on so that the fault codes would not clear. They instantly hooked the car up to there test equipment and found the fault code, the code indicated that the problem was in the left head light assembly circuit shown as B+ as the problem.
Since then they've replaced, the headlight assembly, the control module, the wiring harness and still today I've got the same "check Lights" thing going on. When the Check lights message comes on I loose my left light all together, the problem is getting worse and they don't seem to be able to find the problem.
How do you reset this check lights indicator in the MFI. I installed my euroswitch and 4 yr. old son pulled the switch all the way to turn on the rear fogs and thus...the error code.
View 1 RepliesA friend of mine replaced the lights (non-xenon) on his Touareg with a HID conversion kit complete with balasts and everything. I believe the installer wired everything correctly because everything works fine. However, the car keeps getting a "check lights" error. Would a vag be a solution?

I am getting occasional "check lights" warnings in my 2006 V8. I just exited warranty but complained several times of these warnings during the warranty period. Unfortunately, the dealer never found anything (and I am too busy to go into the dealer while the code is still in the system).
What it might be? I haven't ever actually seen a light out or anything, everything *appears* to be working. I even had both xenon bulbs replaced under warranty because they said that the bulbs in the first run of 2006 tregs were flagged for recall and they speculated that might be the cause of the warnings.
Lately, I am getting the uncomfortable "beep" and a "Check brake lights" message every time I get cough in a traffic jam and guess what: I checked the break lights and everything is OK. It took me sometime to be able to check the lights when the fault is on because usually it disappears after 30 seconds or so. Off course, when I take it to the dealer we cannot reproduce the problem (is not every time I break, is only when a break a lot of times in a short period of time looks like something is overheating) . The beep is driving me crazy!
View 9 RepliesI've had the Dension Ice Link plus for my iPod for about a year and a half and it has worked flawlessly. Two days ago, though, the radio now reads that there is "no CD player" when I try to use it. I called Dension support and after a few other diagnostic procedures, the tech asks me to reset the radio by pulling the fuse. I wait a couple minutes with the fuse out and every single wire detached from the radio. When I reconnect, the radio is not reset. So I try again, this time for over 1/2 hour; still no reset.
View 8 RepliesJust installed the smoked tail lights on my '07 Treg. Installation was very easy per the instructions on OEMplus. I did a great job from that standpoint.
Got one issue, I check the 'Check Lights" warning and I think its due to the fact I tested the lights before I had all the new ones installed and hooked up. Do I need to take it to the dealer to have something reset via a computer or will the check light go away with some driving, which is what the dealer said.
Sometimes when I startup I get the message "Air Conditioner Off". This has only been happening for the past few weeks and never before. I wonder why now and not before. Have 22,600 miles.
