My t-reg just show me "Check Lights" and I had check all the lights and can't find anything wrong with them... is this a common problem? All the lights and brake lights seems to work fine.
View 10 RepliesI've got a 2005 Touareg V-8, 17,200 miles. I've got the xenon lights and the problem is as follows. I started getting the "Check Lights" message on the MFI. I checked the lights and everything was on and working. I took the car for service and had the dealer check it out. Of course the dealer couldn't find anything.
They checked for fault codes and didn't find anything. Once I left the dealership the message came back on so I turned around and went back to the dealer. I left the car on so that the fault codes would not clear. They instantly hooked the car up to there test equipment and found the fault code, the code indicated that the problem was in the left head light assembly circuit shown as B+ as the problem.
Since then they've replaced, the headlight assembly, the control module, the wiring harness and still today I've got the same "check Lights" thing going on. When the Check lights message comes on I loose my left light all together, the problem is getting worse and they don't seem to be able to find the problem.
As far as the owner can tell, the car is running fine. He hasn't driven it aside from getting home after the light came on. It seems to give a very informative error message. What it's saying?
View 4 RepliesMy Prius yesterday while driving slowly (under 10 mph) all the dash warning lights came on(triangle, cel, trac control, brake). the gas engine started and the message came on that says: "check hybrid system". Today when I went out to check there only two warning lights on (triangle and cel) with the same message displayed. My question is can the vehicle operate without damaging anything if I drive it as is? I have read on several threads that the engine will not start if the hybrid motor(s) are not working. Since my engine starts and runs I have to believe the motor(s) are working.
View 19 RepliesOne of my taillights stopped functioning last night on my drive home. The "check lights" message came up on screen, accompanied by a loud warning chime. However, it wouldn't stop. It kept flashing "check lights" over and over, and kept repeating the chime every few seconds for my entire ride home.
This morning, everything seems to be OK. The taillight is still out, but it's not chiming repeatedly (at least for now). What caused my Phaeton to freak out like that?

Went out to my car at lunch today and the "Check Brake Lights" warning came on. I checked the lights and my top center brake light is out. No fuses are burned out.
Last night I had this happen to me on my V6.

No major problem, just had the warning appear but lights seemed to work normally. I could reproduce the problem once and then it stopped. What is the cause/solution identified by VW?
I am getting occasional "check lights" warnings in my 2006 V8. I just exited warranty but complained several times of these warnings during the warranty period. Unfortunately, the dealer never found anything (and I am too busy to go into the dealer while the code is still in the system).
What it might be? I haven't ever actually seen a light out or anything, everything *appears* to be working. I even had both xenon bulbs replaced under warranty because they said that the bulbs in the first run of 2006 tregs were flagged for recall and they speculated that might be the cause of the warnings.
Lately, I am getting the uncomfortable "beep" and a "Check brake lights" message every time I get cough in a traffic jam and guess what: I checked the break lights and everything is OK. It took me sometime to be able to check the lights when the fault is on because usually it disappears after 30 seconds or so. Off course, when I take it to the dealer we cannot reproduce the problem (is not every time I break, is only when a break a lot of times in a short period of time looks like something is overheating) . The beep is driving me crazy!
View 9 RepliesJust installed the smoked tail lights on my '07 Treg. Installation was very easy per the instructions on OEMplus. I did a great job from that standpoint.
Got one issue, I check the 'Check Lights" warning and I think its due to the fact I tested the lights before I had all the new ones installed and hooked up. Do I need to take it to the dealer to have something reset via a computer or will the check light go away with some driving, which is what the dealer said.
Recently replaced the front tire pressure monitor sensors from my '04 T V8. Since then the readings are fine with the only exception that I do get the "FLAT TYRE" warning a few minutes after I start my trip and for about 2-3 minutes until it goes off again. Shall I take it back to the dealer for reprogramming, is it something else I should look for...
View 1 RepliesThe "Low Oil Pressure - Stop Engine" warning message came on while my wife was driving yesterday. The warning went away after a brief moment. I check the oil when I got home from work. It's at max and the oil looks clean (had it changed about 1000 miles ago). We've never seen this warning before. Is it just a fluke or is it something that should cause concern.

View 1 RepliesIt is a fairly new vehicle, Touareg SN 42xxx. It has two problems, which might be inter-related, both of which have defied all the repair attempts of a very competent and concerned dealership.
First problem: The warning message "Headlight Range Control" keeps on appearing. Much work has been done to try and fix this: Alignment of lights checked, suspension level sensors checked, vehicle inspected for damaged wires, etc. Later on in the process, both headlight assemblies and the instrument cluster were replaced. The message still appears.
Second problem: This is really minor, I only mention it because it might be related to the first problem. The instrument cluster trip computer (MFA) will not store accumulated mileage over a series of trips. In other words, if the car is stopped and started a few times, the trip computer will zero out.
I have a 2003 GX470 with 174,000 miles. It continues to be a great vehicle.
Recently my air conditioning system only blows warm air in both the front and rear. When I start the vehicle, the Navigation screen flashes the message "Check Air Conditioner", then the A/C button on the Climate screen flashes.
I have searched the forums and read every post regarding this issue, and it seems that one possible fix is the "magnetic clutch relay", but the link to Sewel Lexus lists this part as belonging to the ES330, and NOT the GX470. There is NO such part listed for the GX470 on that website.
One other post suggested that the author pull the AC error codes, but I don't know how to do that on the GX470.
As the subject states, I got the MFT message: 'CHECK HEADLIGHT RANGE CONTROL'
Battery gauge = 14 solid
All other guages normal

I have a 2004 V8 and the automatic leveling feature seems to be working correctly. If I stand in front of the vehicle, it appears that the headlights level themselves when the ignition is turned on.
I have noticed a couple times while driving at night that the headlights did not appear to be shinning down the road as far as they have been during other trips, so I'm thinking the problems could be related.
I have a 05 V8. I have had in it 3 times in the last month for a bad headlight which was finally fixed now this error message popped up yesterday.
By the right I will not be taking my VW back to the dealer...
