I have a customer with a 2013 Touareg. He wants to be able to open the windows with the FOB as he approaches the vehicle. I was able to use VAG-COM to allow the driver's window open/close, but not the remaining windows.

View 2 RepliesI installed a non-auto euro switch. I tried scandinavian drls and that left all my exterior lights on at all switch positions, even off and when the key is off. I switched no drls and the switch works as it is supposed to. I tried enabling some of the comfort stuff. I want the remote to be able to open and close the windows, but I can't get it to do it. I think i have the right boxes checked in vag com, but no luck.
View 6 RepliesSo currently i wrecked my jetta. so....i decided why fix it when i can upgrade so ive decided to purchase a new-er car so Ive come across a 1999 passat with about 135xxx v6 auto/tiptronic and its selling under 2 grand. only issue is that none of the windows open or close. i am willing to fix this i just have a few questions.
How reliable is this make an model?
How much in the hole can i see myself with the above mentioned window issue?(not sure exactly what the problem is)
Any specific questions i should ask when i go to see the car?
Is this something that can be done with the remote? Does it have to be activated by the dealer? I can open/close windows/sunroof with the key but not with my remote.
View 8 RepliesMy dad drove the RX350 to get some groceries last night and was shocked to see all the windows and moon roof was open after he came out of the store...
My guess is something was pressed against the unlock key on the remote when he was exiting the car and walk toward the supermarket entrance and triggered the all window open from remote...
Fortunately, nothing was stolen but he was shocked...I think I will have the dealer program the RX and disable this feature...
However, I was also shocked that we can only open all the windows but not close them w/ the remote...seems like a bad design...if you can open windows from the remote...you would think you can close all the windows too right??
I know you can open all windows and moon roof by holding down the remote fob door unlock button.

When you use the key to lock the car door, you should be able to hold the key in the lock position on the driver's door and the car will close the windows and sunroof, right?
For some reason, this is not working on my car. The alarm sets and that's it..
This might be better in the section of sun-roof issues, but I could not see how to add it there. Our 2013 GT has less that 5 thousand miles on it, and we've developed a problem where on occasion the sunroof will suddenly open or close all by itself. Sometimes it will just move one way or the other 2 or 3 inches than stop. Sounds crazy, and like something that will be hard to find.
View 2 RepliesSo, I've had the car a couple of months and things just keep getting stranger. I've been through my 2nd Airbag fault and now it's been returned from the dealer and every time I open or close the door the speakers "thump" once. I decided to remove the stereo to be sure it wasn't my IPod causing the problem and with the stereo disconnected the speakers still " thump" once when you lock or unlock the door. It's just a nuisance but I'd like to get it resolved because it will also sit in the garage and randomly thump for no reason. Another new strange occurrence is that the alarm now works, whereas before it was so quiet that it could hardly be heard. I suspect something between the door lock and alarm being the problem but the dealer is clueless. Other weird things like the seat not always moving when you put the key in the ignition , the alarm going off randomly when exiting the car are happening as well.

View 1 RepliesI get the worst wind buffeting (loud whooshing and terrible pressure) when driving with the sunroof open with all the windows completely up. And just yesterday I realized the roof opens up fully with some additional pressure (surprisingly hard pressure) after the lever is turned and I get the most unbelievable eardrum crushing pressure/ noise until I crack a window or two. I'm not kidding, its unbearable at pretty low speeds.
This seems like a serious design flaw (and should have been tested and corrected) not to mention extremely annoying as I can't use the sunroof without opening the windows.
I have a Jetta 4.5, as you know this cars has a function that when the windows are open and you lock the car, if you keep pressing the lock button in keys of your car, the windows automatically closes.
The last week my car was full washed, the engine and everything, actually the Radio went into 02 Safe mode but I did a trick to fix it, but my windows are still with that issue.
I used VAGCOM to turn on the automatically close windows/ sunroof when rain is sensed...I also checked the box under MFI/ Convenience but cannot get the windows/sunroof to close with rain. How to get this to work?
View 22 RepliesI have the windows/sunroof close via rain sensor enabled through vagcom. I go to the MFD but every time I select it on, it'll reset and turn off when I turn the car off and on. Why? Can't get it to stay on.
Also, to not start a new thread. What the Manual Door Lock option in the MFD does? It gives you the option of all doors or individual. I looked in the manual but still don't understand what it does.
The other day I got out of the car and forgot to close the windows. So I tried to hold the key fob LOCK button to close them. Nothing. Yet holding the UNLOCK will OPEN them? Now how often will someone want to OPEN windows with the FOB versus close? Put another way, I am assuming that there IS a definitive way to use the FOB to CLOSE the windows/roof but I can't figure it out.
As an aside, I guess I a bit "slow". I JUST figured out, after almost 2 years of ownership, that the CD player will read MP3 files...hundreds on 1 disc versus about 20 song on an old style CD.
I have a 99 B5 stock with 114,000 on it. On Saturday my wife and I went out for a ride, she had to get something form the trunk so I unlock the doors and she gets out when she gets back in the car I notice the trunk lid light is on and i tell her to close it she said she did so I get out and close it. I noticed when i went to close it the latch wouldn't engage. I turn the car off and try to use my key to lock the trunk, I noticed the alarm doesn't engage when I try to lock it. I then try to start up the car and it wont start.
I pop the hood everything looks good I try it again no luck after about twenty minutes of testing, I decide to disconnect the battery. The car starts right up but while im driving i notice the trunk lid light comes back on and my doors keep trying to lock, then my windows go down for no reason...What is going on, I have heard that some passats have a real bad electrical problem with time but what causes it and is this something Im going to have to bring to the stealership to get fixed.

Other cars I have seen will allow you to use the remote and close all windows and moon roof. Looking at the LS460 manual it looks like the dealer can program our remote to open the windows and moon roof with the remote. But it does not say anything about closing.
Also a question on the Navigation. Can you change the default screen to the Information screen? Mine always goes straight to the map when I start up. Could not find a place to change it.
Have sunroof vent open and close by itself while driving down the road? mine did it about 6 times yesterday during one trip but hasn't done it again since....

I'm wondering if anyone tapped the switch in the rear and run the wire to the front & put a switch there so we can close it from inside. Sometimes we accidentally open the trunk and have to run out to close it.
View 14 RepliesMy sunroof will vent open and close by its self randomly while driving. Same problem occurs with my girlfriends 08 Passat. She said the dealership couldn't duplicate the issue, and when asked me about it I just laughed, shrugged my shoulders and said its probably just loose wiring.
