I've been trying to order a 2009 or 2010 V6 TDI. I'm being told by dealers in the seattle area that I can't order an '09, and also that the 2010 will not have the Air suspension, or Rear diff lock.
View 18 RepliesSo I recently bought a Ross-Tech cable and have been doing some coding and was a little disappointed when I wasn't able to change the diff lock settings. After exploring a little more I came across Byte 1 bit 6 in CAN Gateway [32] Differential Locking. I tried checking it and then going back to adjust the diff lock settings but still no dice .
My vehicle is 2010 Golf TDI 5 door.
I am looking for the codes for the tranny and rear diff on my 04. I know the engine is a AXQ but I can't figure out what the 6sp Auto and locking rear diff is. Where on the vehicle I might find these?
View 3 RepliesSince purchasing my T-Reg, I've heard a cranking sound, from what I assume is the rear diff at speeds from 1-5 mph. I only really hear it when I'm turning int a parking spot or parallel parking. I know the rear diff will spin the wheels at different speeds and I know at low speeds there can be some noise, but, since most passenger suvs don't have rear diffs, and some level of engineering has removed that nuisance from center diffs, it's not heard of to much. Is this something I need to have looked at?
View 5 RepliesCan't say I noticed it on the test drive but when we went to Costco last weekend and drove slowly over the speed bumps it seemed like the rear suspension had no give in it at all. Also noticed it whilst out driving tonight.
View 3 RepliesI've got a problem with my touareg v10 5.0tdi because when I drive about 140km/h or more the rear suspension gets a vibrations. Sometimes I fell them more and sometimes less. And today when I was driving in the rain I notice they vibrations stopped. What could cause this vibrations of the rear suspension. i have checked wheels and tires and they are good. My touareg has the mileage 127000 km and could be possible that shaft is worn out.

View 9 RepliesI came home and just noticed that the V10 rear passenger side tire almost flat; I bent down and the nail head appeared to my eyes, I took the car over to the local Pepboys store to patch it up. And there is no key for the wheel lock. The mechanic and I had madly search all over the searchable spots..... and NO key for wheel lock! I called the dealer at two minutes after 5 and no service people there.
View 9 RepliesMy rear brakes lock up constantly. It doesn't matter how easy I am on the peddle. The ABS goes through it's test on start up. Afterwards, the light goes out. The vehicle sat for quite a long time. I pulled the rear drums and inspected for rust and brake shoe condition. There was no rust to be found and the shoes seemed to be in good shape. I've read on here about some shoes retaining moisture and causing the same thing. These 'seem' dry. I've also read that it could be the RABS. Is there any testing to determine if the RABS is definitely the problem other than by-passing it?

View 7 RepliesI will be receiving my 2010 Prius in a day or two. The road condition in Pakistan are not that favorable for the imported cars as they get hit from underneath alot. So I'll need to put 1" spacers on top of the rear suspension. that will require disassembling the shock absorbers. I just need to know how to disassemble the interior to gain access to the suspension nuts inside the car?

View 3 RepliesMy rear diff had recently started to whine on decel, what I am looking to find out is, would replacing the stock rear diff itself with a peloquin unit be enough of a fix, or should the whole rear housing be replaced as well? I don't want to buy a peloquin rear diff and install it and still have issues because of the pinion shaft being the culprit or something else.

View 14 RepliesFixed my AWD. Needed a new Haldex pump. Did a fluid change and new Haldex filter. All using factory stuff.
AWD works great now. The problem though is when im making tight slow speed turns. I.E. backing out of a parking stall. I get a noise from the rear diff like something rubbing, or a tire skidding.
Is this normal? I bought my car from the dealership without my AWD working and just got it fixed, so I really didn't know what an AWD R32 was like.

View 2 RepliesThis problem started in Jan this year and got worse through feb, got it checked in march to find out it had metal shavings and chucks stuck to the magnet. Ive searched the forums for the last few weeks but noticed no one seemed to point out if you can drive it while its like this or is this a recipe for disaster. other than the droning/whining the car will fight me will going in reverse while turning which has happened twice. Need to get the whole rear diff/haldex replaced....
