Touareg :: 2008 - Low Beam Change From A Different Angle

Dec 12, 2010

I have an 08' Touareg and for the life me could not figure out how to get the headlight units out for bulb replacement. I have racked my brain with the instructions that are found on CT, Vortex and wiki. (could not find pictures on what tool everyone is talking about and or where the release nut or screw is.

There is a hex socket located on the light unit but after a lot of turning I found it adjusted my High beam.

They just did not make sense for what I had found under the hood. My tool kit in the back does not have a tool that fits anything remotely on the headlight unit. I also tried removing the air filter housing to get to the back of the light and had no luck without breaking something.

After all turning , twisting, moving and adjusting. I decided to go the route of the wheel well for the passenger side. less than 15 minutes, 4 screws and a retaining nut and I was in with all access to the back of the light unit, changed the lamp and closed it up. As for the drivers side less than 5 minutes and it is all done.

I installed Silverstar Ultra and like how much more light is distributed directly in front of the car. The one lamp that indicated I needed to change (yellowish color compared to the other) actually had a bubble in the side of it as if it was almost melted through.

If there are pictures of how to get the unit out on the 08' I would love to see them, the tool, where and how it gets released.

Mercury - Sable :: How To Angle The Beam Of Headlight After Installation

I just bought a pair of new headlight housings (the actual plastic housing that holds the headlight bulbs) for my 2000 Mercury Sable. This car is essentially a Ford Taurus with a different badge and different lights, if that makes it any easier for you. I installed the new headlight housings, but when I turned the lights on in front of my garage, the left light shines very low (below the bumper) and the right light beam shines very high (way above the bumper). The angle of the beams is uneven. I tried adjusting the position of the lights, but they are fitting in the socket perfectly. Is there any way I can change the position of the bulbs or housings so I can get an even headlight beam and actually see at night??

Touareg :: Angle Display On Navigation Screen?

I thought I saw, somewhere, the ability for the navigation screen to display the angle of tilt (both horizontal & vertical) of the car in real-time. I'm only able to get the display of altitude and front wheel angle.

Touareg :: 2008 - TPMS Indicator Light Flashing For 60 Seconds To Indicate No Signal After Tire Change

Okay, so after 42k miles, I had to bite the bullet 4 months before my lease is up and put yet another set of tires on my T2. Done today at reputable shop, and the TPMS is not yet registering the monitors on all four wheels. Driven about 8 miles since and they are still not registering. The indicator light is flashing for 60 seconds to indicate no signal. Should this rectify itself with some driving, as other systems on the Treg do, or is it something else. They were working immediately prior to them mounting the new tires.

IS F (2008-2014) :: Uneven Brake Pad Wearing At An Angle

My friend was looking at my tires earlier today and noticed that my brake pads were wearing at an angle. He was also shocked to learn that these pads have only 6,000 miles on them. We looked at the old front brake pads my mechanic replaced and they are not showing any wear like the current pads.

Below is the old pad that came off the car after 30,000 miles:

This is the pad my mechanic installed on my car, after only 6,000 miles

He also noticed some odd wear on the rotor - evidenced by the vertical lines across it's radius. He thinks it may be related to the problem with the pad. He also recommended a different mechanic... Is this wear considered normal? We looked online and some people reported similar wear, but nothing we found was as extreme as this.

Camry :: 2008 - Knocking Sound From Frame When Going Up Ramps At An Angle

What could be the issue with my Camry. Basically when I drive up a ramp with a decent amount of incline and going at an angle, I hear a knocking sound from what seems to be the frame of the car somewhere and I can tell because the interior upholstery makes a sound as if it were shifting. In other words, the sound I heard from the upholstery is the same sound you would hear if you were trying to separate two objects glued together.

Golf/GTI VI :: 2008 - Steering Wheel Wrong Top View Angle

I have a weird question about the nice gti steering wheel. I noticed it some times ago on my old 2008 rabbit too and didnt really cared much when I saw that on the steering wheel of the 2010 gti. Did you noticed that the SW angle isnt good from a top view, I means, when u look at it carefully, did you noticed that the SW is more prononced to the right side, it easier to notice it when u look from a top perspective view of the SW. When u use 2-hands on the SW, u can notice that your left-hand is closer of you that the right-hand. Why Volks designed it like that way?

Accent MC (2006-11) :: After Replacement No Change Between Driving Lights And Low Beam

I have an accent 2006 GS Sedan. I bought this as used recently. Noticed that the lights are not powerful at nights. When I turn on the lights there is no changes in the power of the driving / low beam lights.

Whether this is the standard with accent 2006. Other vehicles I have with me changes the power of the light and in this case there is no changes at all. I bought extra powerful bulbs and put them and there was a slight change, but there is no change between the driving lights and the low beam.

Touareg :: Passenger Side DRL / Low Beam Is Out

Okay, "check lights" idiot light came on today and I discovered my passenger side DRL/low beam is out. I assumed the bulb must be bad but when I started the car up again, the light came on briefly, then off, and then flickered, ending up off.

I'm now assuming that this is not a bulb issue, but a ballast or something my Ford truck doesn't have. Now what do I do to fix it?

Touareg :: 2004 - Headlight (Low Beam) Flickers On / Off

My 04 Toureag has one headlight (low beam) that flickers on and off. I can shut the door and it will flicker on. This happens both for daytime running lights as well as regular headlights. It also at times registers on the dash that a light is burnt out. Yet all the lights are on and working.

Touareg :: 2012 - Headlight Beam Jiggle With Sharp Bumps

I have the 2012 Touareg with adaptive head and LED accent lights. I have observed that when the road has sharp bumps and you are going slow enough to observe your light pattern on the ground, the lights, the LEDs I believe, appear to be "Jiggling". I realize there must be a more technical term for it but I would think from the oncoming traffic the appearance would be reminiscent of the old motorcycle light heads that were never very tight and would appear to bounce or "Jiggle" up and down as they approached. The dealership says they all do it and it is because the LEDS are mounted in plastic and the plastic is vibrating.

Touareg :: 2004 V8 - Driver Side Xenon Low Beam Flickered Rapidly And Then Quit Working

Troubleshooting a headlight problem on a 2004 V8 Touareg. Driver's side xenon low beam flickered rapidly and then quit working. I replaced xenon bulb with OEM part, still not working. Swapped in known good bulb from passenger's side, still not working. Took to dealership, who said it needed new ballast, which dealer would be happy to install for a mere $900 in parts and labor. Declined dealer's offer, ordered new replacement OEM ballast (from Chrysler dealer for several hundred less than VW), installed new ballast, still not working. Cleared all fault codes using VAG-COM, still not working. Swapped in known good ballast from passenger's side headlight, still not working. Auto-leveling is still working in both lights. So...not the bulb, not the ballast. Wiring harness, perhaps?

Touareg :: How To Change Oil

How hard is it to change the oil in the V8? Any special tools etc? Where is the filter? How much oil does it take? Also, I read somewhere that the Touaregs come with synthetic oil from the factory? I am already looking forward to my first oil change at about 3,000 miles.

IS F (2008-2014) :: New Headlight - Beam Pattern Not Right

So I finally got my car back after being repaired from the fender bender I was in, and I had to get a new right headlight but I just noticed that the beam pattern isn't right. I just picked up the car and brought it home so I'm not sure if this is a characteristic of a new headlight and bulb. I feel like they put in the wrong bulb or they didn't install it correctly?

Passat (B6) :: 2008 - Low Dip Beam Light Warning Went On

My sister has a 2008 passat and her Low Dip Beam light warning light went on last week. he was able to put the brights on and have both headlights working, but they would distract other drivers. I got another bulb today and replaced it, but it didn't do anything. I changed the halogen bulb that is on the right side of the headlight, if you are looking at the headlight, and turned the headlights on as well as the brights and now nothing works on that side, besides the yellow light. I was thinking that it may be the fuses, but it doesn't look like those are bad either. However, I looked at the fuses and the diagram and it looks like the headlights should have a 10 amp fuse, but they have 5's, from what I can tell and those were never touched by us. What may be causing the headlight not to work?

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2008 - Both Low Beam Headlights Out

I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa fe and have recently had both low beam headlights go out. The running lights and high beams still both work. I read both bulbs as sat 0.5ohm(left) and 0.5ohm(right). Connections were right. I also read fuses in engine compartment HLP LO for both RH and LH. Still I swapped them both with the HHP HI and both worked for high beams but no change for low,on,either side. My next idea is the switch but I am not sure how to test it.

I am not sure what the voltmeter read. No service staff was available, and I am not sure that the people there knew how to jump it, plus my wife is 8 mos pregnant, didn't want to get her stranded, so I left it there.

Touareg :: Oil Change Interval?

This has nothing to do with cost of an oil change or what is the best oil to use. My question is what would you do in this situation and will my choice impact my warranty? I will be taking a trip in the fall and will likely be about 1200 miles from home when my Treg reaches 5000 miles (first oil change as per the manual). Do I go to the local dealer where I will be and get it changed or do I wait until I return to my home and local dealer with about 6200 miles showing on the beast?
