Touareg :: 2008 - Can't Find IPod Adapter
Feb 28, 2008
I just bought a 08 T2 and love it. I really want to hook up my Ipod to the thing but can't find an adapter past '07.

View 7 RepliesI have an RCD-510 (touchscreen with no Nav) in my 2010 wagon. I have the AUX in the center counsel but want to add the iPhone adapter in the glove box. I'm having issues with VW by me. They cannot figure out what I need. They took it apart once and said there was no hook for the iPod cable. Also, I talked with VW headquarters and they said they wouldn't recommend trying to do it as I'd need new wire harnessing and a new "panel.". I was very confused by the panel comment. What is the part number I would need them to order?
View 9 RepliesI want to install an external display ipod adapter (Kenwood KOS-A300) in my 2010 Prius IV, but in reading the manual I see that the power wiring for this device requires 3 connections - Ground, Ignition, and Battery (it also has a dimmer control wire, but I am hoping that one can be left disconnected).
I haven't come across an accessory like this before - usually they just need 12v and ground and in these cases I just tap into the wiring for a 12v accessory power outlet to get these connections. My recollection in this car is that the accessory power outlets are switched (either with ignition "on" or accessory "on"), and they turn off when the car is shut down.
Is there a convenient location inside the vehicle where I can connect a wire that is always hot with 12 volts?
I'm installing an iPod adapter to the Nav Headunit, and need to get the iPod connecting cable from the area behind the Headunit into the glovebox. How to do it?
View 5 RepliesJust wanted to know if its possible to install the sat. radio if you have an iPod adapter already installed using the cd-changer in the back of the head unit. Also, what are peoples experiences with the FM modulators and the radio...
View 1 RepliesCan use the iPod Interface Kit for my 2005 Avalon? It states "Either iPod or Sat Radio can be installed, not both". I do have the JBL Audio system but don't have the Satellite radio. It also mentions it works with the 2007 Avalon, aren't they pretty much the same, 2005-2007? URL...
View 11 Replieshave a 2005 Reed Green V6 w/Equipment Package #1 (Includes Sound System I and Bi-Xenon Headlamps).
The only trouble I've had so far is a very low "clicking" coming from the front driver door speaker when the radio is on. Otherwise, I've enjoyed the vehicle a lot.I am also looking to install my IPOD so that I can play it through the radio...
I have a 2008 Passat Lux with an ipod dock in my glove compartment which I would like to turn into an aux input if possible. There is no AUX input under my hand-rest so the ipod connector in my glove compartment seems to be the only way for me to listen to my music from my phone in the car. I have found several cables that convert IPod to 3.5mm jack (and hopeful vice-versa?) Will this work somehow or am I stuck with the ipod connector without any aux input?

My stereo say "MP3" on it's face. My manual says nothing about MP3's though. How do I play an iPod in my truck? I do not have a cassette deck either...so that method won't work. 2005 F150 ....
View 6 RepliesI came home and just noticed that the V10 rear passenger side tire almost flat; I bent down and the nail head appeared to my eyes, I took the car over to the local Pepboys store to patch it up. And there is no key for the wheel lock. The mechanic and I had madly search all over the searchable spots..... and NO key for wheel lock! I called the dealer at two minutes after 5 and no service people there.
View 9 RepliesI recently tried to use my ipod through AUX input. It work fine from battery but when I also connect it to the 12V power outlet, it makes static noise in the speakers. Apparently there is 06-07 ISx50 TSIB regarding this issue and the fix is to install filter to the line input.
View 14 RepliesI just bought a 2012 Prius 3 and sold my wife's BMW 3. I still have my X5 though and one of the convenience I'm missing in the Prius is having the cigarette lighter adapter always supplying power even though the ignition is in 0 position and key out of the socket as in my X5.
View 3 RepliesI have a 1998 Passat turbo that suddenly started leaking oil from the oil filter adapter. I think it is a bad gasket. Could this mean my pressure switch is bad? What caused this problem?
View 1 RepliesSo I have a 2004 GTI with monsoon system and I use a tape adapter to play music from my iPhone. Most of the time when playing music if the cable hooked to iPhone moves at all, there is a loud scruffy feedback type noise coming from the speakers. I've tried a few different adapters so I know it's not that. What this annoying sound could be??
View 5 RepliesI have a 2002 SC430 with original ML head unit. I want to be able to connect my phone to play music from Spotify, any options to add a bluetooth adapter?
View 14 RepliesSince my Prius must be possessed I need to collect data for dealer to resolve the issue. But the reputable OBDII Bluetooth adapters I have reviewed say they are not compatible with hybrid vehicles.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2004 Honda Civic, and my phone and my Bluetooth unit are (sometimes) plugged into the cigarette lighter (euphemistically renamed the 12V Power Adapter). Problem is, when I shut off the car, the power adapter shuts off, depriving my phone and/or Bluetooth unit of a sometimes much-needed charge. My Suburban keeps the adapters on even when the power is shut off, and I love it.
View 9 RepliesI noticed a drip on the remote oil filter adapter connecting block, it was appearing from the seam between the block with the supply and return lines to the oil filter and the engine adapter. I purchased a gasket set and replaced the two O rings, the old ones were hard and flat. The new ones are soft and round, I thought that would stop the seep, but there was no change. So after removing a few more times and cleaning, even substituting a slightly different size O ring with no change in the drip. The two aluminum blocks are held together by a 13 mm bolt. It is a 1992 S-10 Blazer 4WD 4.3L. None of the crimps are leaking.
View 3 RepliesI'm working on replacing my center console with a wooden one. I'm having trouble getting the center box (under the arm rest) removed; I found the 4 screws in it but I'm having trouble getting the cigarette lighter / power adapter out. The outlet doesn't seem to push forward like, say, the one next to the shifter lever. Nor does it seem to unscrew. Am I missing something obvious?
View 3 RepliesThe cigarette lighter adapter inside the center console of my 2010 Prius (next to the USB/iPod and AUX plugs) does not appear to be working, although the adapter underneath the gear shifter works fine. A few weeks ago, I found some coins, which I keep inside that center console that had gotten wedged inside the cigarette lighter adapter cavity. It was after removal of those coins that I first learned that the adapter was not working (I tried a few different devices to make sure that it was the adapter itself not working).
From reading the web, it sounds like the fix may be as simple as replacing the fuse. From what I understand, the fuse is just above the emergency parking brake. If so, where do I purchase a new fuse and how much does a new fuse cost? Also, how do I know which fuse needs replacing? Is that in the instruction manual?
I had a leak at the flange several months ago. I fixed it with the diesel o rings kit. I made a trip from TX to AL with no leaking and drive it daily without leaks. But, 2 weeks ago noticed a small dribble of a leak from the same spot again - not enough to leave a mark on the pavement but any leaking drives me nuts. I applied some RTV. It worked for the 2 weeks.
Today, noticing another dribble of a leak coming through the RTV down the pan. I'm thinking the flange is bent and not keeping that o-ring sealed against the pan. I'm going to try to apply some additional RTV at the leak spot. If this doesn't work? Is that Strictly Diesel adapter really worth that kind of dough? Is pushing the OEM adapter into the pan really acceptable? Any other options?
