Last night while driving in the ice and snow storm we had in the north east my passenger side wiper started acting funny was hitting the driver side wiper and not going full cycle. I think there is something wrong with the linkage,the driver side works fine bringing it in for service Monday.

My passanger side blade has been hitting the side of my windshield randomly since the car was new. Wasn't able to replicate the issue at the dealer so I was pulling the blade off last night to investigate and broke the small square retaining clip (Red arrow). Do the clip assembly (Blue arrow) can be purchased separately or if I have to buy a whole new wiper.

Now the driver's side wiper has developed a very annoying chatter. What I noticed is that there were a bunch of very thin lines on the driver's side windshield, almost as though the rubber had rubbed off and left the lines (which ran in the exact same direction as the wiper). I've tried a special glass cleaner, wd-40 on the wiper. I clay barred the windshield this morning as a last resort but haven't tested it out yet.
I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring Wagon. I've only had it for 3 months. Right after I got it, I noticed that the wiper on the driver side left streaks when used. I replaced both wipers with Trico Exact Fit, but the problem persisted. I just changed the driver's side one [b]again. This time with a $21 Teflon top-of-the-line blade (24"). It now streaks less, but the top 6" or so (outer edge of the wiper) still streaks.
Having ruled out the blades, could this be a wiper arm tension issue or am I using a blade that's too long?
06 GS300 Drove all day in freezing rain, but when I went to leave the store, the drivers side windshield wiper decided to stop working. I was able to make it back to the parking lot. The passenger side is working fine, but that was not working for me at the time. What could have caused this issue?

View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 Camry LE. It seems as if the wipers on my Camry are not wiping as far as they should/could. Specifically, the driver's side wiper only wipes to about 4" from the edge of the driver's/left side edge of the windshield.
This wasn't so much a problem in the rain, but in heavy snow, it leaves a pretty severe blindspot in the driver's left side of the windshiled. It seems as if the wiper should wipe at least another 2-3" further to remove more rain/snow from the windshield and give the driver a better line of view.
Further, when the wipers come back down, they come to a "clunk" as if they were coming down too far. Is there an adjustment for the wiper arms/wiper motor to allow them to wipe more of the windshield?
The far end of my passenger side wiper has been leaving about a 2 inch wide arcing streak lately. I figured I needed new inserts, so I replaced them yesterday. The passenger side wiper is still streaking in the exact same place. I know I put the new inserts in correctly, including installing the little metal clip at the end of the insert. What could be the problem? Could I need a new wiper blade? Do those things go bad?

Usually when I start the car in the morning my wiper arm with go down a inch,when i shut off the car the passenger side wiper will move up a inch. View 2 RepliesI just picked up my new GTI a couple weeks ago and today is the first time using the wipers. The passenger side wiper doesn't work at all. I took a look at it and the wiper is different from the driver side. The wiper itself is cheap plastic with holes every inch. The connector to the wiper arm is purple. Could this be a "temporary" wiper that was installed during shipment and the dealer forgot to switch out?
View 7 RepliesSo I was driving yesterday and my roof was still covered in snow. Came to a stop sign on a hill and all the snow from the roof decided to come off all at once onto my windshield. I turned the wipers on and only 1 wiper moved so I turned them off and then had to get out and clean all the snow off. Now my passenger side wiper arm doesn't move or moves randomly but not in sync with the other at all. If I lift the wiper arm up so the blade is in the air the arm moves no problem but the second I put the blade down it acts up again. It doesn't look bent or anything but it is loose and wobbly as in I can move the arm up and down where the drive side one seems pretty firm. How I can even take off the arm in the first place to look at it?
View 13 RepliesMy Driver side wiper arm does not seem to work well. If there is a little bit of snow, it won;t move. If it does move, it is not in sync with the passenger side. It will even go off the window.
What may be the issue? This started when my wife move the arm manual over some snow.
The Prius that I bought brand new last October has developed a crack just above the driver's side windshield wiper. I noticed it today while washing the car. At that time it was about eight or nine inches long, and relatively hard to see due to being so low on the windshield. I inspected the crack very carefully and could not see ANY type of impact damage. After driving it around for the day, the crack has now splintered off and is going in a few different directions now. In a couple of places along the crack a few small chips have also broken off.
View 10 RepliesI had the windshield replaced in my truck and now my drivers side wiper doesn't work. The passenger side moves normally however drivers twitches and doesn't move. Also if I grab it it moves freely without any friction. I'm stumped.
View 5 RepliesI recently bought a used 2010 Prius and I've noticed that the Windshield wiper position on the passenger side stops below the windshield. This causes a slight "thunking" sound when the wipers are going. I'm trying to see if this is something that is relatively easy to fix myself. Judging by the position if I move the passenger side up I'll also have to move the driver side.
View 7 RepliesI have an O4 Phaeton here - the passenger wiper motor doesn't work.. After removing unit - verifying mechanical operation I've found that it's function just fine. However there is no power to connector. When wipers are running I supplied power with power probe and wiper operates just fine.
Cant find location and # for what I presume is a bad fuse. I looked for fuse diagrams all over and cant find one.
I have this 2005 Camry since 2010 and never had any issue. Yesterday, I used wiper and the driver side moved slightly. The passenger side wiper blade went over it. So I checked and the driver side arm doesn't move at all but the passenger side is working fine. Winter is coming here and it'll be terrible without working wipers. Is it something I can tinker on?

View 8 Replies2002 Nissan Maxima w/ 134,000 mi. Driver side wiper blade squeaks mercilessly when windshield wet. I've: changed blades twice; cleaned blades & windshield thoroughly with alcohol; w/ ammonia; with vinegar, for each using paper towels and also tried with newspaper; cleaned windshield dry with baking soda. Baking soda seemed to work at first but soon returned to previous squeakiness. It's driving me nuts and the wet weather is around the corner!
View 7 RepliesI just took in my 2007 RX350 to the Lexus dealer for a "once over" as I recently purchased it, as well as a squeak that was coming from the passenger side wiper blades.
After several replacements (including the high end Rainx and Michelin from Home Depot) the squeak would not go away.
Lexus indicated that the "aftermarket" blades were causing the problem and I needed Lexus blades.
I pushed back as they were about $120 for both, but, much to my surprise no squeak.
Not sure what the OEM blades are and I guess I could have researched it more, but, was at my witts end with the squeak.
Anyway, that fixed the problem.
