Touareg :: 2006 - Keep Getting Comfort Settings Lost?

A few weeks ago, my door unlocking settings reset to "driver's side" (I have it set to "all") 3-4 times in one week. I remember this being an issue with the 2004 models, but I was surprised to see it happen in my 2006... and then completely disappear.

On what road condition do you use Sport, Automatic & Comfort shock absorber settings
My salesmen told me sport on the highway and automatic the rest of the time.

This glitch has been noted on repair orders and supposedly fixed at least three times now, but it's BACK. (So much for my wood knocks and no problems for three months.) Odd thing though, it'll reset to default three times in a row, then I won't have the problem for two weeks. Then, this morning, that annoying click, telling me now that my doors are locked at 5mph and my unlock door setting goes back to DRIVER SIDE ONLY (I prefer ALL as the setting). How to take care of it for good? I've had something having to do with this in my MFI replaced once or twice now.

Anyway, I'm starting to get really annoyed because our Touareg keeps losing it's keyless entry comfort settings at random. I always set it to unlock all the doors, flash the blinkers, and not sound the horn, but at random it will set itself to sound the horn and only unlock the driver door. I'm not losing power ever, I can't really see any particular pattern for when it happens. Sometimes it will hold the settings for months, other times not even a day. Really weird... What is causing it to change on it's own? This is a 2004 V8 with NAV if it makes any difference.

Looks like I erased the Comfort setting in the MFI, I was changing stations at a light and noticed those menus, played with them for a bit and I hit it at factory reset. Since then I have not been able to get the Comfort menu to come up. Is there anything I can do to get it back or will I need to go to the dealer to get it reset?

Disconnected my battery for about 15 minutes to wire up HIDs. Couldn't put them in due to the nut not coming off the battery bolt. tightened battery and started car. dash has amber steering light on and traction light. when i put it in reverse (AT) it banged into gear, then put in "manual mode" trans jumped and banged into 3rd gear. also noticed 1 touch windows not working. What might have gone wrong from a simple battery disconnect. no additional wires were hooked up to the car or did i forget to reset something.

Was adjusting some of my settings today. My "Comfort" setting disappeared from the menu. This has happened before. how to get it back? I need to set my door unlock to unlock all including the tailgate.

I have been trying to figure out how to increase comfort turn signal blinking from 3 to 5 or more but everything i have seen for T1's and T2's doesn't work. I have looked at other instructions as well from other VW model cars.

How to recode in gateway park assist because someone in the service I thought didin;t mark this option and now I didn't have got pdc in my car even though that I have physically this module in my car and formerly it was working. My friend stopped into see me today cause he thinks I'm a VW guru. His LF tire was at 34 psi and the other 3 were at 44psi. Of course his low tire pressure light came on, but he told me he used to be able to see his tire pressure under the comfort portion of his computer display. He scrolled down to show me it wasn't there anymore. Where it went? He now knows why the light keeps coming on cause he has a leak. He should be able to monitor it I presume.

I want to disconnect the battery, clean the terminals and ground etc and reconnect. I don't have the factory radio so no code needed. Is there any other settings that will be lost? Do I need to recode the remotes?

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get into the space between the right side of the driver's seat and the center console. I have lost medication, coins, and a french fry . I've tried all sorts of power adjustments but I can never make any clearance. Once something falls down there, if I stick my hand to grab it, it falls into no man's land.

Have lost all fan speed control in both hot/A/C settings. Resistor pack checks out okay. Fan runs when voltage applied direct to it. Have +12v into r-pack. Fuse (inside) okay. The fan speed is controlled by adding resistance between Fan & ground. Thermal cutout part on R-pack okay. How do I test out the relay (in engine compartment), and could that even be the prob? Will look at dash switch next. Any schematic for this?

I only see highway numbers on the map display, not street names. Is this because it is a CD-based nav system and not DVD-based (my DVD nav system on my Mini Cooper S displays all street names)?

While I was driving my car suddenly was losing power.I tried to hit the "gas" pedal harder and it didn't react.It stayed on the same gear and after 2-3 seconds it was ok. After 10 minutes it happened again but this time I couldn't do anything. I thought it was the transmission problem so I went into manual mode to shift it down. It didn't work at all - I was shifting down but didn't have power so I had to stop. I stopped put in P turn engine on and everything came back to normal.It's worth mentioning that one time time I had to pull over and I didn't turn the car off. After couple minutes the car started to vibrate and died. I turned on and everything was ok. Fuel filter or is it something else?

I flushed my brakes this afternoon and all went well until I got in and found a red series of lights on the MFI stating "brake fluid". I touched the brakes and there aren't any. I pumped them 50 times or so and still the pedal goes all the way to the floor board. I used a machine I have used on countless other cars and have never had a problem before. I used VW brake fluid. The brake fluid container is right at the max line. The only thing that was different compared to the other cars I have done is that the Treg has two bleeders, one on the front of the caliper and one on the back. I called a VW service consultant and he told me they use the outside one to flush the brakes and so that is what I did. My only guess is there is air in the system. But, I am not sure at all how that happened.

My 2008 Elantra blows cold air, but just not as hard as it used to. At max setting, it's not blowing hard enough.
Also, my steering wheel starts to shake pretty bad going 70+ mph. What could be the problem for this?
I don't know the first thing about cars!
