For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get into the space between the right side of the driver's seat and the center console. I have lost medication, coins, and a french fry . I've tried all sorts of power adjustments but I can never make any clearance. Once something falls down there, if I stick my hand to grab it, it falls into no man's land.

Completely stock, no swap. No motor noise when I click the buttons on forward, back, up or down. Nothing. Everything looks connected under the seat but not entirely sure. Fuse 1 and 44 are good on the side of the dash. This is for a 2003 Wagon with GLX interior and most upgrades from the factory. I need to move the seat in order to remove the center console/radio cage as it's blocking the armrest nut.

I'm contemplating removing the center jump seat and replacing it with a Ford center console. Is it just a matter of removing the center jump seat bolts, then bolt in the new center console?

The top half of my center console will not close and it appears a piece of metal broke loose from the locking mechanism. (See photos) ....
I have two questions. Is this one of those wear and tear items not covered under the warranty? (I have 13 months left on the OEM warranty). If it is not covered, do I have to replace the whole console or is there a separate part I can buy to fix it myself.
My wife spilled some cola from the cup holders in the center console and it got into the Hi/Low range rotary switch and the stability control button. Now the button and switch are all sticky and barely work. Looking for instructions on how to take the center console apart so I can get to those switches and wash them out with alcohol or something to get them working again...
View 1 RepliesCool weather has finally arrived in Michigan and brought with it the first interior squeak for my Touareg. I have isolated the squeak to the center console. It happens on rough roads (plenty of those in MI) or when I rest my right arm on the console.
It appears that the console lid flexes a bit even when latched. I'm thinking about adding a couple of the clear, flexible pads to the bottom, front corners of the console lid to see if that will eliminate the problem.
How to remove the overhead center console? I have two false buttons - one on each side of the homelink buttons. Someone pushed on one of them and it popped up inside the console. I've pulled pretty strongly on the console and it comes down about a half inch, and I can see some clips inside holding it, but can't seem to pull it far enough down to get access. I don't want to break the console in half...

I presume it's not the fuse because according to the owners manual the 7.5A fuse also controls dash light, power outlet and flashers and they all work. Could it be another fuse, or something else? View 11 RepliesI have on '06 V6. This slight rattle/vibration only happens during the first 5 minutes of driving, and only starts AS am driving down a slight hill from our development. It doesn't seem mechanical. It just sounds like an interior piece is loose. It seems to be coming from the center console or passenger seat area. It doesn't happen everyday. Once I am on the highway, flat area or after a few minutes it's gone. I have shuffled everything around in the center storage area, glove compartment, seat belt - nothing.

One of the brackets that connects the tray inside the center console is broken. I wanted to order the part but I only see the inside tray available to buy, not the brackets. I was wondering if I ordered the tray, will the brackets come with it? I don't want to order the tray and then it turns out no brackets, then I'll be stuck with an extra tray. The closest part number I see on Sewell is Part # 58801E.
View 2 RepliesI have an 09 SE, In the center area under the radio I had a access card slide over the open bottom door into the abyss where I lost a tire gauge and who knows what else lurks in there. It was supposed to go in the top open area but the person just put it on the open door and it slid back and fell.
How to remove the side panels that run from the console in the center to under the dash? I need to access the area under the dash below the 2 storage areas.
I am assuming you take the screws out on the side and possibly pop the shift indicator panel out and lift the console off? Seems a little overkill unless there is an easier way. I really don't want to experiment and break anything.
How to remove the console center right under the radio head unit. I could not find any screws. But it did not pop out if I pull it.
