Touareg :: 2005 V8 Won't Turn Over And Not Coming Out Of Gear

The car is parked in the street on a metered spot. The police gave me 1 night. Its sat pm, so I told roadside to come on Monday. I may get a ticket or towed by the cops.
I have had a new battery and this is my second bad (immobilizer/access control module/transmission control module)or whatever its called. Are these modules defective???
Won't come out of gear, won't turn over. I just got the car back LAST WEEK. I am losing it now (mentally), I know that the dealer can at least get the car started by disconnecting the battery cables and touching them together. This zero's out the computers bad attitude.
It does not however, correct the core issue , which remains, waiting to leave you stranded. I would have tried it myself but the car was on a narrow busy street, and I did not want to leave my legs hanging out of the car at night.
IN the day, tomorrow, should I try the cable touch on my own? How can I get at the battery and what tools do I need?

Got in my Treg turned key an nothing happened. Thought that somehow battery was dead. Hooked up jumpers to treg and touched both ends on the other side and had mean sparks!! Checked lights and lights are bright. Checked alarm and alarm is loud. Turn key and none of the gauges register. Starter does not turn over. Can't get car out of gear. Wheel is locked. Can get key out. Thought it was key fob and used spare. Same result. Bottom line, plenty of juice in battery, but starter will not turn over, won't come out of gear, and steering wheel is locked.

My wife's Treg is making a horrible deep rumbling noise right under the gear shifter. It sounds internal somewhere near the transfer case and I hear it about every 10 seconds or so...

I have an 2005 VW Touareg. I purchased it 1 month ago with 8919 miles on it. I love the thing! However I have a rattle coming from the part that is below the passenger dash. The good thing is it only rattles when i hit a big bump, however when u pay 30k + this is the last thing you want to hear. See Pic. How to remove this black panel so i may fix it? Dealer was no luck the typical "I didn't hear any rattles" ....

I bought a 2005 Camry 4cyl yesterday and realized today that the check engine light was not coming on when turning the ignition on. I put my dtc tool on the car and got these codes. Getting P0300 ,P0303, p0304 & p0012 . Not sure where to start looking.

New owner of a 2005 Passat GLS TDI.
For some reason, the Hazard switch clicks a few times after using the turn signals (randomly), or while driving it will start clicking for a few seconds. The lights do not flash. it is only the audible sound coming from the hazard switch area.
Where does that sound come from? the hazard switch? Would replacing the switch with a new one fix it?

Towing the 16 foot bambi airstream this weekend for Canada day long week-end. First 7 hour leg to destination great. On return trip gear selector on dash screen was flickering and would disappear completely. Engine seemed to be stuck in 1st gear but would run at about 80-100km/hour and 3000rpm. Also could not select anything except high gear(high gear/low gear selector just kept flashing)..... Trip computer/Gps also malfunctioning. The truck seemed to be trying to correct gear issues but eventually gear display totally disappeared and was left running at 80 km so as not to over rev the engine. Taking in tomorrow. Truck had new engine at 70000km, has 97000 on now. Throttle body replaced 2000km ago due to malfunction in shifting.

I picked up a set of harley davidson look-a-like headlights online for my 05. I go to install them and when I tighten them up it causes the turn signal bulbs to push in towards the fender on both. I put my hand back there and it feels like the bulb socket is being forced against the header panel assembly. Am I missing something?

I have recently notice a single "pop" noise that seems to be coming from the rear when I turn right with a sharp turn.
I have looked in the trunk and under the vehicle but I cannot find where it is coming from.

Why the paddles were on the steering wheel or, more specifically, why they'd move along with turning the steering wheel. It sometimes makes it hard to downshift going into a turn or upshifting coming out of out a turn, especially if you don't use the paddles a lot.
well, today, I got to drive one of these and the paddles are in a fixed position. it's MUCH easier to shift knowing where those paddles are at all times when driving faster than you're supposed to. of course I was doing a little spirited driving. downside to that car (only a little) is that it's LOUD. you like the sound of an R?

Last night I drove my Tuareg in tiptronic mode and noticed that many times I was stuck in 3rd or 4th gear and could only downshift but not upshift. I went to automatic (D), then tried tiptronic again, and found out that this didnt happen all the time. Sometimes it allowed me to upshift and downshift, but other times I could not get past 4th gear.

I'm bringing the car in for a seat belt recall and I'm having them look/listen for a heavy valve clatter under WOT. I noticed this before and mentioned it to them, but of course they couldn't find anything wrong.
BUt it's a very noticeable clatter in 1st and sometimes second, embarrassing actually. The other morning when my GF started it saw a big blue cloud of smoke and she said it ran really rough. Is there some issue with the right bank or any bank on the engine? THere's no way that this engine should sound like that. I thought maybe it was because I was running 87, but most here said they didn't notice anything, and a "knock" doesn't sound like clatter. I also tried running 91 for a few tanks and nothing changed.
We actually like the car, but the amount of problems has been a little disheartening. I think more that when I go to the dealer I feel like they don't even know how to use a wrench.

On my V6 tdi , the converter bypass coupling is closed very late : generally in the third gear arround 2200rpm. In second gear i found that the transmission slip a lot.

Today (not 2 days after taking delivery) I was travelling on the highway. stopped for fuel and as I am decelerating on the offramp when the truck shifted from 5th to 4th it went CLUNK, It did this twice, in the same circumstance. I can't make it replicate the noise every time. But 2 times in 24 hours is enough.

I have been having this problem for the better part of a year, about 80% of the time when my transmission tries to downshift from 5th to 4th gear I hear a loud thud/bang which shakes the vehicle. The other 20% of the time the donwshift is smooth. I have tried manually shifting and get the same result. The problem does not seem to be getting worse. I have adjusted my driving and when accelerating in 5th gear at moderate speeds I accelerate just enough to keep tranny in 5th, so I don't get the thud.

I have been trying to move my vehicle. It starts but does not let me put it in gear. It's stuck to park. Whole bunch of warning lights came on. I have the check engine, abs, EPC, traction control and parking brake(even if it is not on) lights. A real Christmas tree. What it is.

Turns out the brains of the transmission are not working. Valve body to be replaced under warranty. We were getting severe Clunk between 4and 5 gear and 5/6. It was more pronounced going up hill and when towing. Actually scared me a few times with severity of the noise and shudder of the vehicle. Will take a week for parts and warranty work to be done. I assume it is a very expensive undertaking.

I am hearing a noise first thing in the morning when I leave my house and the car is shifting from 2nd to 3rd. The sound, I think, is coming from the front center of car, say directly below the radio area. The noise lasts only 1 to 2 seconds and sounds like when some tries to put a transmission in reverse while still rolling forward. A metal against metal sound of two pieces trying to mate up. I'm thinking transmission...I'm hoping center diff. There was mention of a scraching sound coming from front passenger side on initial startup. Idea was this could be Immobilizer or ABS.

I am new to the all wheel drive breed. When I turn the all wheel drive knob one click over to the right (4x4 low I believe) how much rougher should the shifting be. I notice it starts in 2nd gear, but 2-3 shift jolts the car to the point it almost snaps your neck(not WOT just normal accelaration). Each subsequent shift is a little smoother, but still very noticably rough. Is this normal? Even in the regular high mode, sometimes my regular around town low throttle shifts are pretty jolting.

Problems on my '05 Tour. I have nearly 800 miles on it and it has visited the svc. dept. twice already. First because the Triptonic was hesitating, 3rd gear would not engage. The service manager beat the snot out of it and verified there is some hesitation. His answer was "vw has not received the new software to correct this problem, so don't use your Triptonic".
Well after driving it for a week I notice the shift points are all over the place. Gears 1-5 fly by and I am not past 2k rpms doing 30mph and in 6th gear, so I take it back again! Do you know how hard a lane change is doing 30 mph in this heavy truck and gas costing as much as it does! Not only that, but when your in 5 or 6 the car bucks...moves kind of in a jerky motion, and I only put premium gas so I know it's not the gas! Also I have this rattling noise coming out of the cluster when your foot is on the brake and your in drive.
