Our 2005 V8 no longer makes any sounds relating to the blinkers in use, seat belts unbuckled, headlights are on, hazard lights, etc. The only sound it's kept are the ones the parking sensors make.
View 7 Replies2013 MKVI golf TDI with DSG. I use the manual mode a lot and now the shifter makes a squeak noise and is no longer a smooth movement. Ive attached a video link below of the noise.
I've tried spraying silicone lube down into the shifter and it hasn't made any difference. How I can maybe take the shifter apart and grease it?

My Pruis v makes a humming noise. Sometimes. Doesn't happen all the time. Don't know when it will happen. When it does happen, the car makes a humming noise. High pitch and low pitch-no longer than 2 minutes. Seems to be coming from the right side of the vehicle. It is embarassing when we have friends in the car, the noise comes on , and the friend asks, 'what's that noise' and i shrug my shoulders-i don't know.Took it to service. Manager said he has to hear it to determine what/where it is coming from. If it isn't making the noise, he can't tell me where it is coming from. Took it back today and now we have a loaner so he can drive it for a couple of days to try to hear the noise.

I have replaced spark plugs and PCV valve this week and considering replacing front struts (complete assembly) as the car rides somewhat stiff and hits potholes rather hard.Tires are newer.
Car has never seen snow and has not rust issues. Rubber boots on both struts are damaged. Vehicle also makes clicking sounds on potholes. CV joints are good, no visible damage.
I'm having a problem trying to troubleshoot the warning buzzer circuit. Normally,the warning buzzer beeps twice when the trunk begins to open. It will also beep twice when you press the button to close the trunk. Yesterday I noticed that the warning no longer sounds when i open the trunk, but still beeps when i close the trunk. I examined he trunk closer, but couldn't find the buzzer or an activator for the beep generator. The service manual was worthless.

I figure its time to replace the suspension as it's got 125k miles on it. My question is exactly what parts do i need to buy? I am going to do both the front and back. I see names of parts thrown around all over. bushings, struts, springs, bearings etc... so what parts do i need to buy?

There is a creaking or groaning from the driver's side front when turning left at very low speed, like in a parking lot. When parked, turning the steering wheel in place intermittently causes the same thing but only when the wheel is turning to the left. No noise when coming back to center or going to the right.
Noise is definitely not a clunk or pop or squeal. No difference in handling at normal driving speeds.
Jacked up front driver's side tire and tried push/pull at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions. Nothing strange, even with enough force to be concerned with jack support only. Pulled the tire and checked out tie rod end and tie rod. Pushing and pulling saw no movement. Grabbed swaybar link and push/pull, all solid. No leaks or worn boots on any of them. Checked PS fluid--fine.
Should I suspect lower control arm ball joint? Is noise consistent? Maybe it needs grease? Unfortunately, car is far from home, so the biggest question is whether it is safe to drive hundreds of miles before sorting it out.
2008 Hyundai Elantra, 2.0 it. We replaced a bad water pump, and timing belt while we were there. I followed directions found on multiple websites. We spun the crank shaft to the top dead center mark on the crank sprocket/engine block, and the cam sprocket / assignment mark. Then removed tensioner, and belt. Installed new belt and ensured alignment marks had not moved. Applied pressure to tensioner and tightened. Reassembled everything else. Car started with no problems, drive for about twenty minutes started making clicking sound from under the hood, we turned around to come back home and the car still making clicking sounds gradually started to loose power and speed until the engine stalled and would not restart. Trying to find out what could have happened.

View 3 RepliesJust had the dealer install the VW trialer hitch on my TReg. When I got the truck back I noticed the rear parking distance meter no longer worked. The front works fine, but when I put the car in reverse the display meter ligts up the red segments and a warning is sounded for 2 - 3 seconds. The technician said he didn't know what the problem is but would be researching.

View 2 RepliesI can't get mine to latch. It makes the noise but not catch. Everything looks fine as far as I can tell but it just doesn't catch all the way and won't lock closed. I checked the adjustment bumpers and that doesn't seem to do anything. I can tell it is going all the way closed, but motorized latch isn't catching and pulling the door close.

View 9 RepliesI recently had to have e my alarm replaced on the car and after i left the dealer i parked and locked the car and came to notice that the chirp is no longer a chirp but a high pitched very loud beep that lasts longer than the previous chirp. The odd thing is that when i activate the alarm it sounds exactly as it should. I contact the dealer and asked if they gave me the right alarm and assured me that it is right and properly installed. What is going on??
View 6 RepliesMy wifes 04 v6 touareg make noises now like either a computer crunching files or an electrical fire is about to happen?? the weird thing is when i turn off the display on the dash thru the menu it stops making the noise ?? its not loud enough to hear with the stereo on but it is when its off. the sound itself seems to be coming from the center of the display area over the steering wheel.
