have a 2005 Reed Green V6 w/Equipment Package #1 (Includes Sound System I and Bi-Xenon Headlamps).
The only trouble I've had so far is a very low "clicking" coming from the front driver door speaker when the radio is on. Otherwise, I've enjoyed the vehicle a lot.I am also looking to install my IPOD so that I can play it through the radio...
It goes on and off with a buzzing sound. less so with the radio than with the satellite radio which is wired through the cd plug in the trunk..
Sometimes goes back on when you hid a bump like there's a poor connection.
Two part question:
-Audio is my hobby. I hear things that many people don't. One of the things I'm hearing from my Sound System I is a faint buzzing/vibration in many of the speakers. Some of it can only be heard in certain songs (Steely Dan/Jack Of Speed - Great song!), or when playing an audio book. Most of the time, it comes from the woofers, but with audio books (spoken word), I can hear it from midrange/tweeters as well.
-I've had the car at the dealer multiple times for this. They did replace one speaker and claim to have parts in order to fix it. I suspect that the speakers are just vibrating on their mounts, or vibrating something inside the door. I might be able to fix it. How to take the door panels off so the speakers can be accessed?
Can use the iPod Interface Kit for my 2005 Avalon? It states "Either iPod or Sat Radio can be installed, not both". I do have the JBL Audio system but don't have the Satellite radio. It also mentions it works with the 2007 Avalon, aren't they pretty much the same, 2005-2007? URL...
View 11 RepliesMy driver door speaker (top and bottom) often have static on them and fade in and out. I can tap the driver door and they'll usually come back in ... for awhile. Was wondering if I need to replace speaker(s) or is this just a bad connection in the door somewhere? Looks like I can remove the door panel from the useful DIY's below so just wondering if I should have new speaker(s) in hand when I do.
View 1 RepliesSo, I've had the car a couple of months and things just keep getting stranger. I've been through my 2nd Airbag fault and now it's been returned from the dealer and every time I open or close the door the speakers "thump" once. I decided to remove the stereo to be sure it wasn't my IPod causing the problem and with the stereo disconnected the speakers still " thump" once when you lock or unlock the door. It's just a nuisance but I'd like to get it resolved because it will also sit in the garage and randomly thump for no reason. Another new strange occurrence is that the alarm now works, whereas before it was so quiet that it could hardly be heard. I suspect something between the door lock and alarm being the problem but the dealer is clueless. Other weird things like the seat not always moving when you put the key in the ignition , the alarm going off randomly when exiting the car are happening as well.

I have two stock speakers from a buddies car that only have 8k and two years on them. My question is should I stick with stock ones since I plan on sticking with the stock head unit, or should I upgrade? What speakers that work well with the stock system?

View 1 RepliesHaving the problem of when the A/C is on about 1/2 way (3-4 bars), you can hear a kind of turbulent whistling noise behind the drivers seat? I think its coming from the drivers side passenger vent that's in the B pillar.
At first I thought it was a fan motor that was going bad, but was informed by the dealer that there is no fan there. They thought it might be a duct not making good connection with another duct and air escaping.
My dealer is clueless (of course) and said that they could not find a TSB on this problem.

View 13 RepliesI know there's a normal humming/buzzing that occurs when you open the driver's door after the car has been sitting for a while (fuel pump/starter/something -- apparently allows the car to start easily?). I realize that's normal. But I've noticed that over the last few days I'm now getting what sounds like a loud clack (almost as if the seat belt buckle is hitting some other piece of metal). It only happens in conjunction with the humming/buzzing after the car has been sitting for a while. What it might be? I'm trying to avoid going in for service until my 5k or until something major happens. I have a lot of these will come back, "No problem found", so I'd rather not waste my time.
View 3 Repliesi have been searching forums and cant find nothing with this exact problem. i have been having a problem with my ML stereo system, i have a 2007 Lexus Ls460L, like a week ago my driver side door speaker was going in and out then it just cut out completely, 3 days later all my door speakers and sub went out but all my highs are still on playing normal i see post saying the amps go bad but everyone says a chirping noise or no sound but i have sound but only in for my highs i have no bass at all.

View 2 RepliesLast year an 8pt buck ran in to my driver door and bounced off the fender of my '05 Camry LE. I was able to get it into the shop Jan. 17th and got the car back Jan. 29th (driver door shell was replaced and fender repaired).
Since then my car has been making inconsistent "errr . . . errr" sounds on the highway going 65-70mph from the area where the driver door and fender meet near the base. Best described as metal rubbing metal. From what I can tell:
1) the sound produces the most on long highway curves to the right going 65-70mph
2) the sound produces the most on warmer days (40 degrees was the warmest we've had here in MN) and on days like today where the weather is 8 degrees I can hear it once in a while but very inconsistently.
3)The exterior looks fine from what I can tell.
4) suspensions and engine are all fine
I have taken it back to the shop and they seem very doubtful the noise is due to their repairs but I am positive that this noise did not exist until after it left their shop. One of the reps even sat in the car and heard the noise while we drove on the highway. They initially blamed the car noise on lug nuts that were placed on backwards which I knew was an excuse to get me out of their shop. Sure enough as soon as I took it out on the highway the noise was still there.
I occasionally hear a buzzing sound in my driver side door. I turn down the radio to make sure it wasn't the speaker. This noise only last for a few seconds then goes away.

IT HAS COME BACK NOW TEN FOLD! on both sides of my car, and has been happening every morning! it was very upsetting to come back to after being away for two weeks.

View 8 RepliesYesterday I noticed the rear driver's side speaker buzzing in my GTI S. Is it possible that I already have a blown speaker (I don't usually crank the system)? Maybe it has something to do with the -5 temps? Anyway, should I take it to the dealer or see about getting some aftermarket speakers since the S sound system is pretty mediocre?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2013 Santa Fe 2.0T Limited. The window (or trim for the window) makes a clicking/ticking noise that gets worse the more uneven the road surface, and also when cornering. If I push on the window it seems to stop.
I worry about taking it in for warranty work because last time I enquired about something different they told me if they can't replicate the problem I'd be liable for the mechanics time.
We all know the front door speakers on these are horrible. I am changing them out all the time under warranty for being blown. In doing so I decided it was time for a video on how to remove the door panel without damage to get at the speakers and swap in aftermarket etc.
