I noticed that my rear seats, right passenger side (60%) split, when I grab bottom of it, it feels like it is very loose. Like it is not latched. I folded the seats down and put them up again with more force but it is still loose.
04 TUAREG , V6, PREM II, NAV, XENON, Ais Suspension.....
The instruction manual gives several easy steps:
- Remove head restraint from backrest you want to fold forward (easy enough)
- Pull loop located on the front edge of seat cushion and fold it forward (wasn't too bad until you try to pull the seat all the way forwards and it just doesn't want to)
- Put headrest into seat
- Fold down backrest .
All those other instructions aren't applicable since I can't get past #2 in the instructions. Alright, so I pull the seat to the front, but it won't get all the way. Seems like this is in the way
By now I figure, heck I don't want to force it, so I'll just put the seat back and have the dealer tell me how. The leather wasn't really done well and it snagged on the seatbelt clip resulting in
How the heck you fold the rear seats down...I would say I am average to above average when it comes to mechanics and I have spent a couple of hours tinkering with the seat to no avail.
View 11 RepliesJust wondering if the rest of you have noticed that when you fold down the rear seats (especially for long periods of time) that indentations from the underlying metal posts and brackets form in the leather seats. I have the Nappa leather interior.
Wouldn't this ruin the seats over a short period?
So last couple days over the 4th, the heat was over 95.
AC Blowing out of the vent is cold but the rear seats passenger feels warm.
Even with the blower on the higher and temp on the lowest 65 (or lowest setting).
I put my hand towards the rear seat and I feel warm air. Near the vents are cool but its like the AC can't keep up with the heat ?

Looking for a video or directions on removing the front seats (driver and passenger) so that I can take them out of the car and give them a very thorough cleaning. Possible with a hose on a sunny day so they dry fast. I couldn't find it under the search option.

Usually, there is some kind of latch that you pull, but all I find are baby seat restraints. And from the trunk, I can't find anything. Do these seats fold down at all?

- the dashboard curve above instrument panel creaks constantly (even when the car is torqued in a slow turn)
- right rear passenger door creaks where panel meets doorframe and where wood trim meets door panel
- storage box above center vents creaks
- passenger door creaks where leather patch meets door panel
- smalls wood strip above light switch is damn near falling off (not just wood part, the entire aluminum/wood panel)
- some kinda thump (sounds more substantial than trim) from the rear over larger bumps.
- top compartment closure of armrest leaves a 1/4" play that creaks when even the slightest pressure is applied.
and I am sure several more I just cant locate
Bottom line, I waiting for an '05 because I thought they would have the bugs out, but this things is miserable. Even the smallest of ripples in smooth pavement sends my ears pointing toward some awful creak or rattle. And even if I bring these things up to the dealer, 1) will they be willing to fix and 2) is it really in their realm of ability? I just want my car to be quiet like it was designed, right now sounds worse than the 120k miles 97 chevy suburban my friend has.
Should I be able to open the rear passenger doors with keyless entry? It works great on both of the front doors and works well on the rear hatch but not on the rear passenger doors. If it should work how do I set it up.
View 2 RepliesI was cleaning out the back seat of my car when I noticed the panel that covers the right rear seat belt and goes up to cover the curtain airbag has somehow come loose. I dropped by the VW dealership and they said that a clip broke off from inside causing this and they were asking me how it happened! How I occupy only the drivers seat in my car.

Perhaps my understanding of a tire rotation is incorrect but I noticed the rear passenger side wheel was moved to the front passenger side. If the tires were left on the original rims as is, that means it was simply moved from the rear to the front. Is this right? The reason I noticed this is because I have a little curb rash on my rear passenger side rim which now is up front.

Where to get a replacement. I was thinking about just cutting out the messed up section and hose clamping some heater hose in its place?

View 6 RepliesI came home and just noticed that the V10 rear passenger side tire almost flat; I bent down and the nail head appeared to my eyes, I took the car over to the local Pepboys store to patch it up. And there is no key for the wheel lock. The mechanic and I had madly search all over the searchable spots..... and NO key for wheel lock! I called the dealer at two minutes after 5 and no service people there.

View 1 RepliesMy driver seat is noticeably more worn out than my passenger seat. I would like to have them swap places, thus allowing me to have virtually a 'brand new' seat. I took a quick peak around the area and it appears to be something I can attempt, but I don't want to get in over my head. Not to mention reinstalling them wrong and having some kind of a safety issue.
View 3 RepliesMy wife's 06 T-reg has started experiencing a squealing/whirring sound from underneath. The sound appears to be coming from underneath the back seat. It starts at appx 20MPH and continues as we drive. The sound doesn't get louder, it just continues.
Tonight when we got home, we also noticed a smell of something. Possibly a clutch-type smell. Am I looking at a transfer case going bad?
2014 Sonata had issues with the driver and passenger seats only getting warm? We just bought the car and the seats never get hot. The seats are warmer when I get in the car at the end of the day than they are when the heated seats are turned on.
View 12 RepliesI've got an '07 Sport Trac that is throwing the airbag light when a passenger sits down. I took it in to the dealership and they said that the trac on the passenger side seat has a signal blocked when somebody sits down.
Are there any obvious things I can do or check for? They didn't dig around for anything, they just hooked it up and pulled the codes with and without someone sitting in the seat to confirm the diagnosis.
