I hear the electrical activity of the door lock mechanism.....locking and unlocking the door but the door latch is "frozen" closed and will not release. Inner and/or exterior door handles fail to release the latch no matter how many times they are pulled. Red Led on the top of the door pannel functions normally.
View 4 RepliesA thin blanket is caught in the lock of the rear hatch door. I have removed the cover on the utility box inside the car, and moved the lever but that did not work. I can hear the mechanism working when pressing the unlock but the door does not release. I tried pulling the blanket but it does not budge. I don't want to cut the blanket away because I could not reach what is stuck in the mechanism.
View 3 RepliesThis happened a few days ago, that the driver's side door handle does not release the latch and let the driver door open. we can open the door fine from inside. the remote key un-locks/locks the door fine. What I've tried :
- Slamming the door hard a few times,
- Pulling both the inside and outside door handles at the same time
- Greasing the latch mechanism on the door end (what hooks onto the latch)
Today I removed the lock cylinder, but from what i can see with the cylinder removed the door handle looks ok (no broken or missing pieces). What would be the next thing to do?

I have removed the panel cover; cables are out - door is still stuck! Is there a way to release the latch? It is the driver side back door - 2001 Lariat.
View 4 RepliesYesterday went to fill up and the push feature on the fuel door would not open it. The door would pop out about 1/4 inch and would not release open even with a forceful tug. Played with it for some time pushing and couldn't get it to release. I actually left the gas station with no fuel. when I got home it worked fine so back to the gas station. Never had this Issue before and I go through fuel like its my job.
View 6 Replies-1 (-20 wind chill) here in South Bend this morning, and the Touareg did not like it. All but the drivers door frozen shut. All power windows frozen shut. Defective tyre warning went off once, and then check tyre pressure has stayed on. Wonder what She would do to me if She was not in a garage. The heated seats worked great, how I would have loved to have the heated steering wheel this morning.
This weather is heading East, hope you all on the coast are ready.
I have a door closed indicator that is malfunctioning. The rub is I am leaving for a trip tomorrow and will be over warranty by the time I return. I have 49600 miles now and will add 800 over the WE. I have call VWOA and they are non-committal as to whether they will cover or not. I can show the dealer but they will not be able to look at until next week.
View 5 RepliesI have an 03 GLI and am having a little issue. My passenger front door won't latch. The tumbler, for lack of a better word, is in the proper position and swings freely; but it never catches. If I use a screwdriver I can push it all the way back; but there's not so much as a click when it gets all the way back and just swings back out.
View 1 RepliesDoor on the T-reg that is hard to get latched completely? I'm finding a need to reopen/slam the driver's door on a regular basis. Is this something the dealer can "adjust" for me? What would it involve? I don't think the other three doors need to be slammed anywhere near as hard.
View 1 RepliesI don't have the Touareg with me today (I guess I don't most days anymore, but that's another story...) so I don't know if it's int he manual, but this weekend while futzing around with the hitch wiring install, I noticed a small rubber ring/release belowthe CD changer area that stuck out into the little cargo cubby hole. I pulled it and the gas door opened.

View 4 RepliesThe little rubber post that holds the gas door closed has broken off. I'm worried that fixing this will require replacing some type of cabling system that connects the release button in the driver's door to the gas door and THAT sounds really expensive. I've got 52K on the car with an extended warranty. Think this might be covered?

View 2 RepliesWhen I close the passenger door with the window down the glass of the window makes a noise like it is hitting metal. The noise is the loudest when the window is all the way down and becomes less loud gradually the further the window is up when the door is closed. It does not make the noise at all when the window is all the way up.
Found a few websites that illustrates how to remove the door panel but that seems to give you access to the window motor not the window itself.
The front passenger car door just closed and wouldn't open from either side. It is not locked, and lock is functional. Nothing budges.
Husband uses this car as a rural mail delivery vehicle and drives it from the front passenger side. On the route today, it failed to open for him during the route -- very inconvenient to move all that mail to get in and out.
He needs to take the inside door panel off but doesn't see how with having the door open.
I just got a 04 Touareg and I have the strange issue that the back passenger door won't lock. All other doors close and when I open this one door the alarm goes off. I don't have keyless entry; I tried using the remote, the normal lock on the drivers side as well as all four door lock switches, nada. Surprisingly when I unlock the car I hear a click inside the door so it seems there is at least a electrical connection. I already checked the cable plugs going from the door but they all seem to be in place.

View 8 RepliesThe passenger door of my golf mk4 is stuck after I read through the forums it seems that the little latch inside the handle has been super glued maybe the previous owner had problems with the distance of it. Any way I can remove the super glue? I will provide a picture to illustrate. it can neither open inside or outside. [IMG][/IMG]......
View 1 RepliesSince I had my '02 I've had the child safety lock on the passenger side rear door on (active). I went to disable it (you know, stick the ignition key in and turn it 90 degrees to the side without the child's picture) and I'm still unable to open the door from the inside.
Everything else with the door works fine. The power locks work. Even pulling the handle twice pushes the lock button to the up position. And opening the door from the outside works as it's supposed to. The only thing I cannot do is open the door from the inside. Have I missed anything?
My wife has a 2005 toyota camry with about 84000 miles. She had been complaining of intermittent issues but no one could find the cause till yesterday. Her front brakes were froze and would not release. I took it to the shop and they said the left front was hung and the pad came off and chewed the rotor up. They suggested a brake job. Well in the process of replacing rotors and pads on the front they could not get the caliper to release. Make a long story short, the rotor and pads are changed but the front brakes will not release. They checked the lines and they look good.
View 7 RepliesWith the car off and me standing at rear hatch and it is raised I pushed the latch closed manually and I can't figure out how to release it back to the unlatched position. I tried the door locks to no avail.
As an aside I was doing this to troubleshoot why my alarm is going off alot. I have a relative new yellowtop battery installed and will replace the fob battery later.
