I'm replacing the 3 button remote control switch in my 2004 Touareg and need to know how to get into the "compartment" where the switch is located so I can replace it.
View 7 RepliesJust picked up a 2005 and the hatch glass will not open. Tried everything that I have read on here and on ClubTouareg. It has to be the fuse or something. Pressing the button on the remote does nothing and neither does the switch on the driver's side door.

To Unlock: Push the unlock switch once to unlock the driver's door alone. Pushing the switch twice within 3 seconds unlocks all the doors simultaneously ... This double switch operation to unlock all the side doors and back door can be changed to a single switch operation. For details, contact your Toyota dealer.Click to expand...
(Note that this is different than the "smart unlocking" operations discussed on page 32.)
I'm interested in having all the doors unlock with just a single press of the remote unlock button. How to achieve this setting?
Here is what is happening, if I press the unlock and lock button on remote or from any switch in the car , the front passenger door will not unlock! all of the doors will lock and unlock, except the front passenger dorr will not unlock only, it does lock,just not unlock, i think it may be a bad motor or actuator, I am sure it will be covered under the CPO warranty, especially since its only been less than 1 week since i had it.

After i got my work done, i pulled the key and closed the door. when i was pressing the lock button in my remote key, it wasnt working. Then i went inside my car and even the locks and other things werent working.. nothing was working eventually.

When I hit the open button on the remote control, sometimes the trunk door doesn't fully un-hitche and it remains locked. I can completely close the door again and try again and it still won't open.

I remember when I test drove a base model Treg the salesperson was showing me this using the thumb wheel he was changing radio chanels. For some reason I can't do the same. What I basically need is a broken remote, essentially just that red rubber cover.
When using the remote to open rear liftgate, the liftgate opens at a slower speed than using the interior switch.
View 1 RepliesThe other I has a slight side impact with my '04 Touareg and the only the side air bags went out. The good news is that the Touareg survived with only limited damage on the passenger's mirror and some scratches on the wheels. However the car shut down completely and would not start again!!! I was told there is a "cut off" switch that shuts down all electrical power supply to avoid any further issues that may occur after an accident. I was not able to locate such switch/ button if that exists.

View 3 RepliesI had my 04 Treg vagged over a year ago to turn off the seatbelt chime and turn on the DRLs when the hi beams are on. I have not have any problems related to the Vag. This week my ESP loght went on so I brought it to the dealer (a new dealer, who has not worked on my car before). Tech states that the Vagging may have screwed up the codes and caused the ESP fault and some of the other strange things that have happened such as Key Battery Not Found and my audio cutting out for 10 minues last week. He said he could not reset the codes because he did not know the factory defaults. He stated he turned my DLRs on when, in fact he actually turned them off.
Before he noticed the Vagging, he changed the Clock Spring. However, the ESP light returned on and they returned the car to me with the ESP light still on. The ESP light goes off when I start the car and initiall drive but it then returns on. Also, the ESP button on the console is lit off stating that ESP is off.
I was driving today and noticed the ride was a harsh and bumpy. I stopped the car and try raising the car by pressing the up arrow on the height control switch, however, nothing happened.
The height control indicator is on "N" and it does not change when I press the height control switch either "UP" or "DOWN".
I found a few cases online where people stated that the "Height Control Button Off" button would flash. I have no flashing or warning lights in my dashboard.
I think my cruise control switch is bad. Is there a simple way to remove it without taking of the steering wheel.

View 3 RepliesI have read countless threads and have done research and can't figure out my issue. Had remote start installed in the truck a month ago. The day it was installed sensors were working. I left the shop and went to back in and noticed they didn't work and the light popped when in reverse and sometime it will the random beeping. I did the check and found the inner right sensor was not buzzing. So ordered four from eBay and it still doesn't work. I even switched one of the others out thinking it was the eBay special issue. It didnt work so it's just that sensor. Now what? I have checked the wiring under the truck and it all looks good. What's my next step? Could the remote start have taken just one sensor out?

View 11 RepliesAll my windows work, except my front passenger side window. It will go down, but not up from the driver side switch. It works from the passenger side.
I did NOT replace my battery or lose power. It started when I was driving and wanted the window half way down, but it kept going fully up or fully down. I finally got it to where I wanted it to be, but after that i could no longer bring it back all the way up. It can go all the way down, but no longer up.
