Jan 24, 2008
I had to use my horn today on the freeway and it sounded like one of the horns are out.

View 11 RepliesA week ago I sounded my horn at a fellow T-Reg driver and my wife commented that it never sounded the same after I did the Euro light VAG...
View 16 RepliesI don't use my horn unless absolutely necessary. Well, today it was. Guess what? The Sounds of Silence. No horn, no how.
Turned out, the No. 16 fuse was, in fact, blown. What caused that, I don't have a clue. Replaced it and it is working again. Hopefully, not a harbinger of electrical gremlins to come.
Yesterday my horn started honking when I turned the wheel. At first I thought I had brushed the horn with the heel of my hand, but then I was careful and it continued to honk when I turned. My temporary solution was to disconnect the horns until I can get it to the dealer.
View 2 RepliesTwo problems- disc light on instrument cluster stays on. Nothing wrong with disc. Horn sounds when starting car. I have to sequence lock/unlock several times, then start again. Horn sounds intermittently, when driving.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 GX470 and the horn does not work. I have replaced the fuse to no avail. I hear a clicking noise coming from under the dash somewhere when I press on the horn. Where to find the horn relay so I can see if that is the culprit?
View 1 RepliesI realized my newly bought Priuss' horn wasn't working when I tried using it earlier in the week.
Me and my dad and I opened up the hood, we realized that the fuse box was missing the horn fuse.
Dad being a a self taught mechanic, we inserted the fuse and almost instantly, the horn started going off. It was just a constant loud beep.
He then removed the fuse and the horn stopped.
So I've noticed a few times now that my Prius horn honks about 5 times consecutively At random times while its parked and nobody inside. All the doors and trunk and hood are fully closed and the vehicle is locked when parked. I'm baffled as of what could be causing this. I've only owned my Prius for 2 months so I'm very clueless when it comes to it. What might be wrong?
View 1 RepliesMy horn stopped working. I thought I'd check the fuse but cannot locate not find on internet. Where to check exactly?
View 6 RepliesMy horn suddenly stays on when I hit the horn and it doesn't beep when I lock the door with the key fob. Only way to turn it off is to shut off the truck. I thought it may be a faulty horn relay. I've asked many mechanics where the horn relay is located and every one gives a different answer. Under the hood, in the driver side kick panel, under the dash, near the horn itself. Where the horn relay is located on a 2004 F-150....
View 1 RepliesWhen you turn the steering wheel, left or right, the horn honks at random stages of turn. Nothing long, just a short honk. If you stop the wheel where the honk happened, it just honks.
View 1 RepliesTwo days ago, my horn began honking for no reason...as if the anti theft alarm was going off. I was able to shut it off only by putting the key in its ignition. Last night, the possession by the devil was complete and at 10:30pm, my car began to honk (same as before) incessantly... and I wasn't able to turn it off. This happened about 5 time within 30 minutes. I tried to disconnect the battery but of course, the Prius designers placed the battery in a location that makes it impossible to disconnect. Why this horn malfunction is occurring?
View 5 RepliesWe have a 2008 Lexus RX350. We prefer the horn over beep to notify us the doors are locked. Can we change this or does the dealer have to do it?
View 5 RepliesAfter the standard alarm of my 2004 Vue sounded the horn continuously, the only way I could shut it off was to pull the horn relay. I put the horn relay back, but now the horn doesn't work. How can I get the horn to work? The service vehicle light came on after this happened.
View 1 RepliesI picked up a 2004 Jetta 1.8T and it's had a lot of electrical issues, it had some water damage from a plugged cowl drain and a I've found a bunch of stuff just unplugged. I had a shop fix some missing grounds to get it running and they went through the dash and found all the air control plugs had become unhooked somehow, so they got the air conditioning working. Now i'm working on getting the locks and the horn to work. I've checked the fuses, they're not blown. I'm not sure about the relays under the dash, but I can hear a clicking from the comfort control module when I hit the key fod. The buttons on all the doors are not working. the horn will sound if the alarm is set off but doesn't work when the button is pushed on the steering wheel, nor when the key fob is struck. The windows all work, both from the key turn and the switches in the door. I'm totally lost on what to do here.
View 3 RepliesMy daughter's 2004 F150 has a horn problem. She used it the other day and it would not stop blowing. Someone unplugged it for her. When I checked it out and re-plugged it in it still continues to blow. Question is where do I begin. Does this have a horn relay? Do I have to remove the air bag to access the connections under the pad? I own a 1985 F150 and mine is much simpler.
View 9 RepliesJust put in a new 12v battery but when I try to connect the ground cable, I'm getting sparks, indicating a current draw. And the horn starts blowing nonstop.
View 6 RepliesI disabled the backup beeper in my 07. Now I have an ever so slight horn chirp that I hear. There is no consistency to the chirp, but it is a bit bothersome.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2006 Prius. For some reason I've noticed that the buttons on the steering wheel Do NOT glow and they do NOT work...
Horn doesn't work either! And the light on the driver side door (for windows/lock/unlock) are NOT lit up either...?? It's all black and dark @ night..
Is there a fuse/relay for these type of things? If so...where do I start looking?
I took off the Airbag from Steering wheel and removed steering wheel to double check everything...and everything looks good. No damage. Wires are all connected well etc.
I have a 2007 F150 Lariat with a 5.4 L engine. Bought it 6 weeks ago from the original owner. Has 50,000 miles on it. He had a Ford command start installed when it was new, and received a new key FOB at that time. When I drive the vehicle, sometimes the horn will start blowing and the lights start flashing which to me, indicates the trucks security alarm is activated. The only way to make it stop, is to hit the unlock button on the key FOB. It also does it sometimes when it's not running and I open a door. Previous owner had same problem so he disconnected the horn!!?!
View 3 RepliesI am used to hitting my lock button on my key fob and hearing the horn honk to confirm it is locked. Is there a way to have the horn blow as well as see the lights bling to indicate the doors are locked?
