I just got my new 2004 t-reg three weeks ago. We have experienced an onslaught of rain the past week here in the east and i noticed that my window leaks water into the tub of my trunk and down the back sidewall when the trunk is fully opened. Little droplets coming through and causing some serious soaking of my trunk area.

View 2 RepliesRecently my 2013 Hyundai Elantra was subject to a hit and run. It is a new car with less than 2000 miles on it since October 2013. There was 9K in damage, most of which pertained to the back driver's side and the axle. Bumper, quarter panel, trunk floor, axle, wheel bearings, and two rims had to be replaced. Plus incidentals like tail lights and such. Because this is a new car, I received all new parts as a replacement. When the car was returned to me, the back seat kept getting wet in the rain.
After taking back to the shop twice, they finally diagnosed a small hole in the seal in a seam of the quarter panel area---something must have happened when putting everything back together. The door is fine and there is no moon / sun roof on the vehicle. I do not completely understand what this means. I know some basics about cars, but not to this level of detail. I searched by topic area and couldn't find anything that was related to this type of reason for water in the car.
Have the following questions: How a small hole in a quarter panel area would cause water to get into the back seat (on seat and floor)? What would be good things to watch out for post-fix? It is still a bit damp and rainy here, so I can't open the windows for things to dry out. Would have been nice for the collision center to dry the seats. How can I make sure mold/mildew won't develop?
Leak in the passenger door that blows cold air on the unsuspecting front seat passenger that is intended for the back seat door frame vents? I say 'the' leak because we checked other Tregs at the dealer with similar gaps between the door and gasket on the passenger side.
View 1 RepliesI've got an '05 Dodge Ram quad cab. The back window is leaking like crazy. I'm guessing it was probably replaced at some point and it wasn't caulked properly. Taking that window out and recaulking it seems like a big job. It's a 10 year old truck, so I'm not looking for perfection, but I can't have the whole truck smelling moldy either. What is a good way to put a bandaid on that? I'm thinking maybe some roofing tar or driveway crack sealer? On the other hand, water is pretty insidious. There are serious temperature and vibration issues.

Bought the car used from a dealer (non toyota) and doubt that the 90k service was done
Issues found by dealer (when I took it in for the steering shaft recall):
-Replace water pump (Found coolant leak) (for the gas engine)
-Reseal timing cover (Found engine oil seep)
2 weeks ago I filled my coolant as I saw it was a tiny bit low, but since then I have not seen the coolant levels drop. The Dealer is quoting me an absurd amount of money and I for one cannot afford that.
I just purchased my daughter a used 2006 Prius and we found water in the rear right passenger floor board this morning. We have only had the car 3 days. There are on leaks that I could find inside the car. I looked in the tire well and water was there and also near the 12Volt battery also. The brownish/yellow sealant in the tire well that goes around the bottom is also in my 2010 Prius but I noticed that my daughters 2006 Prius the sealant or what I believe to be bodyflex is cracked. I am going to have a body person look and see if he agrees with me that this bodyflex is cracked.

I later checked it out and found that most all of the coolant connections including the ones on top of the block and manifold have this hard crusty red stuff on them...?

Yes, I know, it sounds completely peculiar but it is driving my wife and I crazy. It sounds like there is a bucket of water sloshing around in our backseat. However, there is no water, not a single drop, anywhere around the car or inside or outside of the car. We had heavy rain Wednesday night so that could explain the source but I can't find the entry point or exit point of the water anywhere on the vehicle.
Whenever we accelerate or brake, I can hear water rushing forward or backward but can't locate where the noise is coming from. Nothing is wrong with the car but I can't imagine this is a good thing.
What works best on the outer window trim and lower rocker panel chrome/stainless steel trim (unsure what it is)? This is an 04 treg, that has been trough two winters and will see many more. I need to keep her tip top! Seems like the trim is oxidizing.

View 3 RepliesMy VW Rabbit (2007) has water in the spare tire well (under hatchback floor); under the floor mats in the back (passenger side has puddled up over the floor mat); appears to have water inside the driver side wall (seat belts are damp and have mildew); appears to have water leaking from under the passenger side onto the ground (backseat end).
This is not a case of windows or sun roof having been left open. Nor have I driven through a flooded area of significance. Last year the rear-passenger-side of this car was destroyed in a 50mph hit by an SUV and insurance co. chose to have it repaired rather than total....
How to check on air leaks. I am having air leaks on the driver window. All of the weatherstripping seems to be intact and I can't seem to locate the noise. What are some things I can do to check?

We need to find out where the water is coming from. It correlates to rain, but we tried hosing the passenger door and front windshield but didn't see any water coming in.
View 30 RepliesI have an 02 extended cab F150 and whenever it rains the rear window leaks (it doesnt have a slider, it's solid) and the half doors leak too... i sealed the back window with caulk to try and fix it and it worked for about 2 storms and then it started to leak again. The side doors leak at the seam where they meet the front doors... Should i order new seals for the windows? or is there a simpler way to do it that isnt as expensive..
