it never ends. upon start up of the treg ('04 v6) the a/c goes through a bunch of clicks and clacks. this used to be remedied with the activation of inside air only; now it does not matter and is non-stop. any remedies? i am going to get this fixed before i run over 50k. i am at 49550 right now!

RIght after I release the ignition from the "start" position, I hear a load grinding noise, sounds a lot like the noise a Zip Tie makes when being pulled. After a second or so, the noise ceases and the car runs normally.
I suspect the starter may not be disengaging quickly enough. If starter, do I need to replace it, or is there some component that can be replaced?
I have a 98 mustang V6 that has developed a clicking problem. When I use the accelerator it will make a clicking noise. It is only there when I use the accelerator and u if I press down harder the noise is drowned out. I put the car in nuetral and also applied the gas to see if it depended on me moving or not and I still heard the clicking but it was a lot faster. It comes from under the hood area but I don't know where (as specific as I can get).

View 4 RepliesI recently replaced my starter pin my Hyundai Sonata 06 v6 3.3 gls. Installing it was no real issue, but one (there is only one a single wire not the one that you fix on with a bolt and nut) of the electrical connectors from the car to the starter solenoid. The plastic around the conductor pretty much crumbled around my finger, what this connector is called specifically. Now the contacts will not contact properly so i suspect this the source of the rapid clicking issue, since my battery was fully charged. I plan to go to the junkyard too if i can find a replacement. Looking for specifics on the electrical connector?
View 1 RepliesRecently had this problem which started up about a week ago where my car would make this clicking noise whenever I turn left while driving. When I turn to the right there is no noise. Some said that it could be that CV joints need to be replaced. I have a video showing the side that is making the sound, maybe there is something abnormal that I don't see.

I have a clicking binding noise while at idle, with the clutch out it goes away, when depressed its there. So, is this a bad throw out bearing? Clutches and flywheels?

I've recently replaced the power steering pulleys and belts. Now when i turn car, it makes a clunking /clicking noise and sometimes the power steering tugs back a bit. 2010 camry.
View 3 RepliesIt has been raining, finally, in bay area, thats the good part. The scary part is that, today I was driving normal close to 15mph and took a left turn at a traffic light and the car spun out. This was the second time in couple of months. Both times it had rained for long periods, road was not water logged.
First time had spun out of control on right turn and second time on left turn. Tires are close to 30K old. Wheels aligned 6k back, rotated 1k back. And passenger side CV makes clicking noise occasionally. Do not remember, the CV making the noise around the time of spin out on both occasions.

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the SUV would occasional make a loud "CLICK" sound in the front steering area, usually if I made a fast turn motion (either left or right).
So today I put it up on a ramp and took a look and it's obvious there's a part in there that is coming loose. I don't know what the names of the stuff is in there, so I'm posting a photo with arrows & letters so people can tell me what's what, and also what to do.
I tried putting a vise grip on it and tightening it with a ratchet wrench on the top part (16mm), but the lower nut just spins. I decided to not go any further because I really don't know what that assembly is, what it does, if it's broke, etc.
Should I hear my Touareg wind down everytime I shut it off? Almost sounds like an airplane coming to a stop but its not that loud.
View 3 RepliesI can't get mine to latch. It makes the noise but not catch. Everything looks fine as far as I can tell but it just doesn't catch all the way and won't lock closed. I checked the adjustment bumpers and that doesn't seem to do anything. I can tell it is going all the way closed, but motorized latch isn't catching and pulling the door close.
View 5 RepliesI just went to look at a 05 v8 toureg with 80k loved the car but on hard turns the power steering makes some noise. It was pouring rain and didn't have a chance to check fluid. is that a common problem or should I turn the car down?
View 1 RepliesMy 2000 jetta won't start. Lights, beeping, everything else happens when I put the key in, but nothing happens when I try to start it. I don't hear any noise coming from the engine, i.e. clicking, etc. I can push start it and it works fine.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe, and for the past couple of years, I have been having an incredibly frustrating issue with my car. When I go to turn the key, it sounds as if it is about to turn on (ie the engine is about to turn over and it sounds normal) then right before it catches, it will start clicking, the noise sounds like the battery is dead. When it first started happening, I called AAA, however by the time they reached me, the car had started again. Now when it occurs, I wait 10-15 minutes and it will start- every time. I have had it in to 4-5 different car repair shops, however no one can seem to figure out what it is. I have had the battery replaced, and several other things altered, etc, however nothing seems to fix the problem. I am not sure where to go from here, I was informed to check the fuel pump and/or filter yesterday- it happened twice on me yesterday as well.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2002 impala that has occasionally not started. The problem started a couple months ago, once it started getting cold here in the midwest. Every few weeks when I turned the key, nothing would happen. It only happened occasionally, and after waiting a bit it would start normally. I did some reading and suspected it was the anti theft locking the car down. Today I tried jumping the car just to be sure it wasn't the battery, and all of the electronics were very dim. I heard a rapid clicking noise from the dash that continued even after I removed the key. The headlights were rapidly flashing, although also very dim. This continued for about a minute before stopping. I tried letting the battery charge from the jump for about 10 minutes, no change.
View 1 RepliesFor the first 10 or 15 minutes after starting the truck I hear a clicking noise under the hood about 1 or 2 clicks per second. It's kind of a mechanical sound, maybe like a pump working. Could this be the Webasto heater working?
View 1 RepliesI have a 05 V8 with just over 1000 miles on it. The other day while driving with the driver window down, I had the trans in sport mode. As I accelerated quickly and got the rpm's pretty high, I noticed a rapid clicking noise coming from the underside of the car. It sounded like it was below the driver seat area. The clicking I heard sounded electronic, and can be best described as similar to the noise a playing card makes when kids put them in the spokes of their bicycles. The noise became apparent as the car reached the next shift point, and stopped after the shift. As the rpm's rose and it reached the next shift point, I heard it again. I have been able to duplicate the sound in tip mode as well, but I mostly hear it when it's in sport mode as it's easier to get the rpm's up before the shift.
I took the car in and took the service manager for a ride. He claimed he couldn't hear it. So I got my salesman to let me drive another 05 V8 and I heard it on that car too, but not as severe as on mine.
Noticed a clicking noise coming from the steering column or instrument cluster. This usually occurs when the car is warming up, but I have noticed it other times as well.
