The tire pressure warning light has been on in my car for about a week. The dashboard computer says that the tire pressure in the front right tire is 17 psi, but when I use the pressure gauge, the reading is almost 40 psi. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this problem?

Well I have after market wheels with the stock tire pressure sensors, when they were first installed everything was fine, now about 2 months later now that it is a little cooler. My two back sensors are showing the warning light. it still reads the pressure and shows correct pressure but sensor warning light for both rear tires are on. Why this is? I was thinking the colder weather but why only the rear two and not the front. they go off and on but lately both have been on.
View 3 RepliesLast week I was driving on the highway and noticed the oil pressure gauge showed no pressure. Limped a half mile to the mother-in-laws and called for a tow. As my truck was pulled onto the flatbed I could see oil all over the bottom of the engine, tranny, rear end, etc. Turned out to be a bad oil pressure sender, which was leaking enough oil to blow the plug off the top of it.
I replaced the sensor, cleaned the engine and under-carriage, checked oil level (which showed no loss of oil) and drove around for a week without an oil pressure gauge while I waited for a new pigtail. Put the pigtail in yesterday and drove it today for the first time since. Gauge was working, got to the bank and it was reading zero pressure again. Limped home and watched the gauge go back up quickly and then back down. This happened twice and was showing pressure when I shut it off. Checked under hood, no oil leaks and plug is still secure.
I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 140K + and recently had an oil change. I went on a 8 hr road trip split up between 2 days (there and back). On the way home I noticed my oil pressure gauge acting funny, going up and down but not past 40. Today, I drove home from work (10 miles or so) and the check engine light came on and the oil pressure gauge was very low, almost 0. I made it home but was very nervous and noticed both today and this weekend there was smell, burning or burned type smell. What should I do? I don't really trust the garage that changed the oil and was skeptical taking it there but was in a pinch.
View 12 RepliesI bought a used certified 2012 Toyota Camry LE with 6000 miles on it directly from the main and larger Toyota dealer two weeks ago, I chose to get original tires inflated with nitrogen which is a service provided by dealer.
Right now I'm realizing that the display screen is not showing me the tires at all, just the trip and gas consumption stats.
Before taking the car to dealer and get in line is there a way system may be reset so tires and of course pressure data are properly displayed?
Last night my tire pressure warning light came on. So this morning I checked them, and they are all above 37 psi, so might be a tad bit low, but nothing major. the manual also mentioned that light can come on if there is a sensor fault. Should I be concerned?
View 6 RepliesThis sensor came on, I filled the tires up to 35 and it went away. A few weeks later, I decided to air the fronts to 40 and the backs to 38 PSI. The light came back on.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat Wlfsburg Edition with 4,300 miles on it. In the message center it stated "Tire Pressure Too Low!" There is also a tire yellow warning light lit. I checked the tire pressure. They were all at 30 psi. I inflated them to 33 psi as stated on the door jamb. The light and message are still there. I checked the owners manual and it doesn't say how to reset it or anything. What should I do?
View 24 RepliesSo tonight I'm driving on I-80 and all of a sudden I hear a thud, the TPMS light comes on and a warning of low tire pressure. I get out to take a lot and the rear left tire is practically flat. Changing the tire was pretty easy once I figured out where everything was in the tray.
So now I'm in the market for a replacement tire as there was a huge hole in tread. I have a about 3000 miles on the car. Would you get a replacement tire that is the same make/model as the rest of the tires, or would you simply get a cheaper replacement? Once I am ready to replace the rest of the tires, I'm not sure if I would replace them with the OEM make/model anyway. At the same time I'm not sure how long the OEM's will last.
My warning light for my tire pressure came on, I fixed the tires and now it won't go off. Is there a reset button I need to press? I can't find it in the manual ...
View 48 RepliesSo here in the Northeast, we are under a deep freeze. This morning I came out (4 degrees) and my "warning low tire pressure" light was on. I got out and the tires looked fine. I have no gage. I stopped and put a little air in anyway and still was on. I also was having new tires put on today and I picked the car up and thel ight is still on. I drove away from Mavis without realizing this. But, the tires are all inflated and I am sure they inflated to factory specs. Maybe the TPMS needs to be reset? Is there a way to reset the light? I didn't see it in the manual on how to do it.
View 17 RepliesIt was very cold in the morning yesterday and my tire pressure warning light came on. I had a funny feeling that it was related to the temperature but it didn't ever go off so I called Toyota today and they said to drop by with it and they would check it out. On the way there after work I got rear-ended. So sad. I thought it was just the bumper but the hatch won't latch properly so they said they would have to 'pull something out...". It was going to be about $800 for a new bumper but now will be more. I'm going tomorrow to see their collision guys about a quote to fix it. My poor car. I have to admit that even with a dented bumper the car still looks good!!! I don't know how I'm going to manage for the two days it takes to get it fixed. I have to re-learn how to use one of those key things.
The Toyota service person told me that he had 14 cars in today alone to reset the tire pressure warning lights that came on because of the cold weather. He said my tire pressure was fine. Just my bumper needs a little work.
I just bought a 2007 prius and after a few days the tire pressure light went on and off for a few days, I since measured pressure and filled to the exact amt. and now the light stays on all the time {approx 5 days now} manual says contact toyota dealer, I have no money for that and do not feel anything is wrong.

Back inside the vehicle, the indicator is still on! I get out to check the spare but, cannot because the valve stem is on top! And, my shirt is all dirty!
At home, I lower the spare and check/add air. Raise spare, put tools away. Now I know how to lower the spare.
Our basic Chevy vans at work let you know tire pressure in each of their four tires.

View 9 RepliesI had my tires rotated. About a month after that my tire pressure warning light came on. All tires were perfect expect the rear drivers side needed about 6 pounds of air pressure added. Now all tires are at 32PSI per owners manual recommendation.
The problem is that the tire pressure warning light stays on permanently. I read the owners manual and pressed the button under the steering wheel and the tire pressure light blinked 3 times like it's supposed to during a reset. However......the tire pressure warning light still stays on permanently. It won't go out. I followed the instructions in the manual. Maybe I did something wrong but I don't think so.
I have a 2011 Avalon Limited with 20.000 miles on it. Push button ignition.
Do any of you get a low tire pressure warning light even though all the tire pressure show as being fine?
Annoying that warning light comes on and it high lights tire pressure in yellow even though the tire it high lights actually has more psi than some of the other tires.
I think my tire pressure warning light is malfunctioning. I check all the tires with different tire gauges and they are all showing around 40 psi. I reset the system by holding down the button and let the light flash 3 times after I check them. It is only sporadic and does not stay on unless one of the tires is low. I did have a loose valve stem, that I tightened myself. When it does this it seems to come on and flash before going off and does not stay on. Sometimes it stays on for a little while and then goes off. Could it be a bad sensor?

View 8 RepliesI had new nitto snows put on my truck and low tire pressure light is on.....Checked tire pressure 65 front and 80 back.....Started truck and screen said tms pressure low.....Hit ok and drove around on and off for 2 days now and cant get the light to go out......Is there some way to get the light out or do I have to go to my dealer to have it reset???
