Yesterday, after lifting back my rear seat backrest (40% section) I found out that the seat cushion moved forward and now I just can't find a way to put it back into place.

View 7 RepliesElantra GT ... Most of the time I leave the right side rear seat folded down. Every once in a while I need to return it to the normal upright configuration. That goes fine, but then later when I try to fold the seat down again the cushion (the one that you sit on) gets stuck and I have a hard time folding the seat back down again. I yank on the strap, pulling forward, upward etc. and it doesn't do anything.
Eventually, and seemingly at random, the cushion pops loose and I can fold the seat down. I can't figure out where it is getting stuck. Can I lubricate the metal parts with silicone spray or Lemon Pledge or something (I wouldn't want to use anything greasy that would get on the seat cushions)? Yes, I read the owners manual and I am following the proper procedure for folding/unfolding the seat.
So this morning, I pressed memory seat #1, and it did not move my chair to the position that I set it for. I had to adjust the chair manually. Every time, I move the chair back or recline the back, in intermittently beeped every 1-2 seconds. It does not beep if I move the chair forward. Could it be the fuse? or what could be wrong?
View 9 RepliesI installed seat covers which required removing my entire rear bench cushion. Now I can't get it to snap back into place. It's the 2 inserts beneath and in front of where each passenger's crotch would be that are causing the trouble.
To release said snaps, I had to pull up with a lot of force, so I figured to snap them back in, I could just slam my knee down right above but no dice -and I made full use of my 163 lbs and gravity multiple times.

I have a 2002 Chevy Impala with power driver's seat. The seat has three motors which move the seat forward/back, front of the seat up/down, rear of the seat up/down.
The seat will no longer go up/down in the rear of the seat. More importantly, it will no longer go forward or back. The left side jack screw spins and wants to move the seat forward or back but eventually stops when it can no longer go any further because the right side jack screw will not turn at all.
All of the motors are working properly and turning the flexible drive shafts. The drive shafts do not appear to be stripped at the ends. After removing the drive shaft covers and reinstalling the drive shaft, I can see that they are turning when the motors are activated.
I then removed the drive shafts and inserted a square bit into the end where the drive shaft gets inserted into the gearing attached to the jack screw. The bit just spins and spins and doesn’t turn the jack screw.
I cannot removed the seat because it is in a position where the rear bolts are covered by the seat. I have tried to remove the four bolts under the seat that attach the seat to the frame. I am unable to break these bolts free (they appear to be welded or loc-tited down).
So It's been a while since I've noticed this wearing rusty sound when moving the driver seat forward and back. It only happens at a certain point where I feel most of my family members are positioned when driving.... I took a look it seemed a bit rusted... Will post pics later.
View 3 RepliesMy wife's power drivers seat will only move forward not back. Fuses all look good and the passenger seat operates fine. If this continues and she hits the button again she will need to be shorter than the 5' she is already. No chance at this point I can fit in the car.
View 4 RepliesI was leaving a parking lot that has an uphill slope leading to a busy road and was going to turn right. There was a car in front of me that was waiting to turn right also. I had trans in D and left the foot on the brake. Car in front moved forward so I pressed the gas pedal and let off the brake. Instead of moving forward I started to roll back as if the car was in neutral.
This freaked me out as there was a car behind me. I braked again and gave the car more gas than before and let off brake again. This time the car jumped forward and I had to brake to avoid the car in front. When the car in front was gone it happened again as I was trying to turn onto main road. It was as if I was driving an MT and was not very good at using the clutch.
I owed an MK 5 GTI for 4 years and never any problems. Apart from this one time, the DSG has been working perfectly.
When you have the key in the ignition and have it so the steering wheels moves up and outta the way too? My seats sounds like 3-5 seconds of some serious farting action. Not good when on the phone and someone asks, "whats was that?" I am sure its the leather rubbing on the side of the console, but god damn will it ever stop!? Only 5K on the touareg, so maybe it will go away sooner or later...
View 9 RepliesLately I've really been noticing these bars and sharp points being able to be felt through the seat cushion on the driver's seat. I had the dealership replace the seat cushion recently cos it was already deformed (< 2 years), and now I feel several bars through the cushion (along the seams in the seat cover). The bars were able to be felt before they replaced the cushion; I thought maybe replacing the cushion would fix this problem somehow. No luck.
To be specific, I feel these bars when sitting on the seat normally. It's getting annoying.
Passenger seat feels fine. I would be surprised if this is normal for the driver's seat, if so, *bad* seat design.
I feel an entire seat replacement is warranted perhaps. Car is still under warranty (3 years / 36K).
I need to replace my drivers seat because of a broken seat mount.
I found a used seat on eBay but there is a rip in the seat cushion. If I bought the seat, can if just swap the seat cushion with my old seat? If so, how difficult would that be to do?
I recently took a ride in the back seat of my 2010 Tiguan and noticed that the muffler noise is loud enough to cause headache on long rides. Also I noticed that the back seat vibrates a lot with any tiny imperfection on the road while the front seat you barely feel any vibration on rough roads. Is it only my car?

After having two owners (first one '99-09, then me '09-present) climbing in and out over 11 years and 95,000 miles, the driver's seat has broken down on the left side near the reclining lever. Every time I go around a right turn, I feel like Im going to tip over against the driver's door. Is there a replacement cushion for these Explorers?
View 3 RepliesI'm currently our of town, and will be so for several months. With that said, my wife told me today that when she pushes the lever forward for the high beams that nothing happens, but when she pulls it to the rear (as if she were only flashing the high beams) they work fine.
I figured I could either order parts while i'm away or start doing a lot of homework to find possible issues/fixes.
the passenger seat in our 2015 hyundai santa fe sport is not power but the seat can manually adjust forward and backward and the back rest can be moved backward and forward. The seat cannot be moved up and down. It is way too low and it feels like sitting in a "pit". The dealer said to sit on a pillow but when I sit on a pillow the air bag light will not go off (so the passenger air bag is not activated). If I sit on a book, the air bag light does go off but who wants to sit on a hard book all the time. The air bag warning light does go off when I sit on the seat itself.
View 12 RepliesI don't usually have to drop the rear seats for storage... So the other day I push the drivers side "60%" seat down and it clicks into place. Sweet. I go around to the other side of the car and.... the passengers side rear seat does not lie flat. The bottom doesn't move at all. And I'm thinking, um, did it ever?
