View 2 RepliesI hear a a series of "clunks" rather than "rattles" (not high pitched) when driving slow over bumpy roads. The noise is coming from the rear only. I think it is more evident in cold temperatures, but I'm not sure. I'll find out if it ever gets above freezing again in MN. Strut mounts? If so, DIY project?
View 6 RepliesI have a set of ST coilovers, installed on my tiguan s4motion they ride great but have noticed clunk noise coming from tight strut and I'm pretty sure it's the pillow mount plate, is there anywhere to get replacements or a better plate? ST website doesn't have them separately...
View 1 RepliesThe Tiguan isn't so quiet when going over road bumps or potholes? Sometimes it's smooth, other times not so quiet and I can hear sounds from rear of cabin. Maybe more obvious after getting lots of rain too.
View 13 RepliesI am looking to reduce some road noise from the Tiguan and will probably install some Dynamat. Mostly I am looking to soften road noise coming from the tires. Any recommendations on what type and where the most beneficial spots to dynamat would be? There seems to be a lot of choices to choose from and every car seems to have it's weak spot as far as noise goes. Wheel wells and firewall, perhaps?
View 1 RepliesI have a VW Tiguan w/ auto lights. I was just wondering if there is a way to have the fog lights turn on with the auto lights function.
View 1 RepliesI've got a 2012 F250 SD and when i go over some bumps in the road or even down a gravel road, the door panel on the driver side vibrates and it's noisy. Is there any way to pull the panel and add some foam padding or something to stop this? I can see the panel vibrate or heck, maybe it the whole door.

There's seems to be a lot "road noise" that's transmitted back into the cabin, like driving over expansion joints on blacktop or rough road surface, is this normal?
I drove a 2000 RX300 for 100,000 miles and don't remember it being this noisy. Interior noise is great and quiet.
What are fellow passat owners doing to mount gauges? I've only seen one single pod. Is there a vent pod i'm missing?
View 14 RepliesI'm looking for a mount for my iPhone to use in the car. I would like something that has a positionable arm that plugs into the cigarette lighter and charges the iPhone while it's in there. Whatever it is I would like it to look clean and not have a bunch of wires all over the place. I am aware of the ProClip, but there is no way I'd spend that much money on a mount for the phone.

I took my R to the shop to try and get these issues fixed on 30/1/12. They spent an hour or 2 troubleshooting and patching up some things. The cars issues were now in working order and all the problems were resolved yay! What they fixed was a shorting in the wiring, replaced the headlight and horn relay and all was well.
I drove my car back home playing around with all the missed technology like.. turn signals etc.. It was amazing almost a new car experience. I park my car and cant wait to start up the next day when i have to go to work. The next day comes i start my car and... all hell has broke lose and all the issues are staring at me and laughing at 5:30am....I take my car to the shop again later that day and this time they check the power in the battery and its normal, and replace a blown out fuse *not sure which one*. After they did this lil fix up everything was functioning once again and I was not charged a dime so I'm a happy camper or so you would think.
The car is 100% stock besides some upgraded tires.
I have gathered that some parts might be needed to replace such as the Ignition Switch part #4B0905849 or a 7 pin connector part # 4A0971975, or maybe both need to be replaced.
I have a round plastic disc and one side is tacky to stick to the dash. Are these things easy to remove off the dash years down the road? I'm also worried the circle will be discolored from the rest of the dash.
View 3 Replieswhere to mount the sunroof deflector. It's has two clamp like screws. Pic's would be great. This is the driver gear one.

So I am reading through my manual for my 3 day old non-nav R32. My dealer told me where the AUX jack is (I have a non iPod MP3 player), but I don't see anything in the manual about how I get it to work. Not that I have tried yet, I need to go and get a male-male stereo jack first. But I don't see any button on the non-nav stereo in the car that points to enabling the AUX jack.
View 13 RepliesWhat the spring loaded valve is for in the stock air filter box is for? I replaced the air filter with a K&N and found the valve in the box. My guess is to open with the engine air draw with a dirty filter.

I'd like to mount my passport 9500ix neatly in my new RX (CPO 2011)... I use a Blendmount and Mirrortap in my C6 Corvette, but I can't find a similar solution for the RX. Who has a Radar Detector mounted to the mirror in the RX
View 5 RepliesI want to install a large screen just in front of front bumper with enough height to protect windshield from rocks thrown up on the gravel sections of the road. I can weld a frame (or use a window screen frame), but how to affix it to the front of the car? Are there solid attach points I can use?
View 4 RepliesTalked to Rho-plate, they state they have no plans on making one...alternatives? My car also has Park Assist too, does count me out on the Tow Hook method?
View 2 RepliesI finally decided to take the plunge and go with Stage 2 BFI inserts and mount.
Engine Setup (for reference):
EIP cold air
BFI Stage 2 Inserts and Mounts
Recently replaced clutch to brand new stock clutch
TT short shifter
First off, everything feels great. very solid mounts especially when compared to the spongy stock ones. definitely gets the job done.
Here's my question, is it normal to hear a lot of noise chatter coming from the clutch when not engaged? when my foot is on the clutch it goes away, and when i take my foot off a lot of noise starts coming from it. as far as i know, some clutch noise is relatively normal but I'm not sure if a lot is. also, when i start the car, the starter has a deeper, louder, more pronounced tone to it. not sure if that is normal or not either.
