How do you activate the opening and closing of all the window from the driver side controls?
I had this working once before and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it working again. I went through the convenience menu in the mfd several times and I can't seem to find it in the manual.
Can getting an ecu update or tune remove this feature?
Replaced the battery on my 07 the other day, and subsequently discovered my passenger side power window would not open or close from driver side control switch. Initially thought the worse of course, that I needed a new motor for the passenger side window. Then I tried the passenger side window switch and the window worked fine.
So now, I think that the switch for the passenger side window (on the driver's side) is bad, and I will need to replace the whole switch control module. Did a search and found the root cause and solution to the problem. Apparently, after replacing a battery, I needed to RESET the passenger side switch from the passenger side, by HOLDING the switch approx. 3 seconds after raising and lowering the window two times.
So once in a while, a full press (either up or down) on the drivers side window button does not cause the window to fully open or close fully as it should... I'm wondering if this is something (a "feature") I'm somehow activating and just don't know it, or what. If I roll the window all the way up (needing the hold the button up until the window is all the way up), it will then behave normally--a full press down, release, and the window will go all the way down. This just started in the last month or so...
View 10 RepliesYesterday, the driver side window in my Passat (1.8T, year 1999) kind of "dropped", and wouldn't close now. When I try to close using the switch, I can hear as if a motor is rotating for a few seconds, but nothing happens. What might be the cause? Can it be fixed relatively easily without making a trip to the dealer?
View 1 RepliesI just got done repairing the 6x9 speaker in the passenger side door and all went well, except the passenger window switch now blinks and will not roll down/up from the driver side controls! I've removed the panel and double checked all connections and no dice. The window rolls up and down fine using the passenger side control, but not the driver's side. The blinking pattern on the control is two blinks...pause...two blinks...pause...

View 8 RepliesThe drivers windows when engaging the auto up will close then go back to it's previous position. I physically have to keep the button engaged for the window to close... Otherwise, it works...

View 1 RepliesEvery time I open then close either of the driver side doors (haven't tried passenger yet), I hear a thumping noise coming from the trunk.
When I opened the trunk to see what it was, the noise stopped. Only with trunk closed does this happen.
Could it be air pressure causing the trunk lid to move? I didn't think the car was that air tight.
I have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.

Is it possible to VAG the Tig seats to be able to automatically move back when I open the driver side door so there's more leg room to get out and also move back to last driver seat settling once you start the car? I know that feature is standard in some luxury cars like Mercedes.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Saturn Vue and if drive with the sunroof open and the driver side window open I get periodic thumps or knocks from below the front seats or the dashboard (not really sure where it is coming from).
If I open additional windows or close the driver side window it goes away. I am sure it is an air flow issue.
The back gate of my blazer won't open, nor will my window close. It seems like the lock won't unlock. But Other than that, I'm stumped.
View 6 RepliesWe just upgraded our Prius from Gen 3 to Gen 3....a 2012. Great ride, just drove it from SoCal on a Sierra Mtns road trip, a little hiking and snowboarding for our spring break. What we failed to notice upon purchase was a passenger door whose controls want work! The drivers door can lock the car and operate the passenger window and lock. However, the passenger door switch won't open or close the window, nor will it lock the door. All other doors and locks work normally.
View 1 RepliesI have a 1977 GMC Suburban with a power rear window in the tailgate.It has become very hard for the motor to open or close the window and it makes a screeching sound when being operated. Does the interior window frame need lubricated or is it rubbing on something?. I know there is a access plate on the inside of the tailgate but the window denies access to the inside of the tailgate. Is there a way to open the window when the tailgate is open so I can access the interior of the tailgate?.
View 4 RepliesSo today i noticed my driver side control for the windows wouldn't make my passenger window go up. It will make it go down and thats it. I was able to open and close it with the passenger control but what could be the potential problem/fix could be I'm not under warranty so figure it will be cheaper to fix on my own. Would the door panel have to be replaced with new controls or do i have any other options?
View 1 RepliesI managed to scrape the passenger door (mostly just the paint) on my 2014 Prius. I got it back from the shop yesterday and just noticed that I can no longer roll down the right rear window using the controls from the driver's seat. I can still lower the left rear window from the driver's seat, but the only way to open the one on the right is to use the switch on that door.

View 8 RepliesI have a '12 SCAB that when opening the driver door the weatherstrip on the door near the front fender, which seals against the pillar squeaks each time you open and close it. Makes the truck sound 20 years old. It appears the weatherstrip is binding on itself instead of just slipping past. I understand it gets dirty and cleaning it will work, but only for a day or so. I've checked the orientation of the weatherstrip with new trucks and its in the correct position.
