The Tiguan isn't so quiet when going over road bumps or potholes? Sometimes it's smooth, other times not so quiet and I can hear sounds from rear of cabin. Maybe more obvious after getting lots of rain too.

The car rides pretty smooth for the most part, but I also find that it's sensitive to lots of small bumps and the suspension is not as smooth as friends other small SUV's. What do you all think about how the Tig rides overall?
View 11 RepliesI've got a 2012 F250 SD and when i go over some bumps in the road or even down a gravel road, the door panel on the driver side vibrates and it's noisy. Is there any way to pull the panel and add some foam padding or something to stop this? I can see the panel vibrate or heck, maybe it the whole door.
View 10 RepliesI recently bought a 2012 Camry LE with 34,000 miles that used to be a rental. At the time of the test drive the car ride seemed perfect. Later, I noticed it doesn't ride nicely on large bumps at low speed. So I bought four new tires which improved the ride. But it's still not as smooth as a new one on the bumps. There is a lot of shock going into a car which gives it a cheap feel.
What would make my car ride the bumps better?
Put in new shocks?
Would I have to place front and rear?
And can I leave the springs?
At 60 mph + and on a smooth road, this 2008 CR-V presents with what seems to be an out of balance issue. You can feel it bumping when it reaches this speed and beyond. The car just turned 100k, had four new tires about a year and a half ago, but when this began occurring (and it was pulling to one side), the dealership recommended two new front tires due to something they couldn't pinpoint as to why the tires were wearing as they were. Replacing them fixed the pulling to one side problem but did not correct the bumping problem. The car has never been in an accident or been driven over a curb/bank, etc., is driven by the same person, has always been maintained at the same Honda dealership. It has been to them 3 times is about to go back for the fourth time. Could it be a bearing? An axel problem? Bad replacement tires?
View 1 RepliesI am getting a clunk from the front passenger side when going over bumps or when the road is not smooth.
It seems to happen at lower speed, so when I am on the highway, I cannot hear anything. The sway bar link seems to be the common thing, but when the car was lifted, there was oil on one of the struts.
2008 3.3 Santa Fe ... The car has 115k KM. Is this a normal thing for it to fail at this point? Last time I had clunks in the suspension it was a sway bar link that was repaired at the dealer under warranty. I can't remember if this is the same sound or not.
I am driving along on Interstate 26, smooth road, no weather going on, clear night, about 7:30 pm, and the rear window on the driver's side just exploded.
Oblong hole in window, rest like a spider web. All fell out as I drove home.
Nothing hit it, had not been raised or lowered for hours, there is NO reason that I know for it to have happened. Bought car in March, 2012. 12,000 miles on it. NO other damage to car, inside or out.
So I finally decided to look into all the little creaks and rattles that the R makes while going over bumps in the road.
-Wrapped the latches of the rear seats in electrical tape, and put adhesive velcro (soft side) on the back of the seats where it meets plastic.
-Took apart the center console and put adhesive felt around the areas where plastic makes contact with other plastic
-Put adhesive felt inside the aluminum trim & Monsoon radio to stop shaking
So all those little fixes eliminated most of the rattling sounds in the car. All that I need to look into are the driver and passenger doors to secure whatever is rattling/shaking inside those panels. Something to do this coming week. I normally would leave these noises alone, but damn they drive me crazy like it's a form of Chinese water torture. I hope to have no more rattles in the following week.
So I had my rear bumper removed and repainted..since then it has developed a rattle on certain lights bumps on the road.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2003 Pathfinder SE with 197K miles. Recently I noticed when I hit a bump in the road my speedometer drops to zero and my abs warning light comes on for a matter of seconds and then the speedometer goes back to the speed I am traveling and the abs warning light goes off. Not sure what is going on. No issues with the braking system but am concerned. I brought it a mechanic who could not find anything wrong.

View 24 RepliesMy front headlamp keeps blinking on and off over hard road bumps. It doesn't always do it, but enough that it has become a problem. It throws a head lamp fault most times and goes right back to normal.
I used the tool to remove the assembly and slide it back in. It didn't seem to fix it. Any tips get it in there tighter? Or to make sure the electrical connections are tight? I am afraid it is adding a lot of wear and tear on the bulb and will burn it out soon. Plus it is annoying when the chime goes off.
this noise start like 4 month ago. I have taken the car to two mechanics and they weren't able to find where the noise is coming from. i suppose that the problem isnt really that tricky.
is kind hard to describe the nature of the sound.
mostly happen when i go over broken road or bumps where the suspension have to move up and down a little but very quickly
Hyundai Sonata 2006 Front susp noise
2003 Elantra GT has a clunking on the right front when I hit bumps in the road. It is loudest when I first start to drive. After about 10 minutes it quiets somewhat and sometimes is gone completely. I looked at the CV joint and the strut but they appear ok. Also checked sway bar and tightened all bolts.
View 3 RepliesRecently purchased 07 Limited (94k), Car hops all over the road over larger bumps, but doesn't feel like the struts/shocks are bad. Almost feels like they're too stiff? The suspension design is pretty basic, so i'm not sure whats causing this past the struts/shocks? Known issues? Hate to dump $600 on new struts/shocks just to find out there is no issue. There is a slight clunk, but nothing massive. Also, car pulls massively to the left, but sometimes doesn't do it?

View 16 RepliesI have this front end rattle or clanking. It happens over bumps and cracks in the road. The rattle seems to be more on the passengers side to under the middle of the car. The stats of my Wagon - lowered on Bilstien Sports/H&R springs. All The control arms have been replaced back in 04 and maybe 40k miles ago. Drive axles were replaced once a long time ago, before it was lowered.
View 8 RepliesI have a 99 F150 4x4 it recently started shaking badly on the front end at about 40mph but levels out at about 45 to 50 mph or if slowed back down to 35mph. I can't find anything worn or loose except the sway bar bushings are completely gone on both driver and passenger sides. I have read about the "death wobble" but can't find anything else worn out! I can do most all repairs and checks myself.
