View 14 RepliesHow to remove the roof rails? I'm planning on doing a Vinyl roof so need to get these things off!
View 3 RepliesJust noticed that an A-pillar plastic cover (on the right side) is coming apart from headliner. Inspected it further and discovered that the headliner is somewhat separating from the roof, so much that I can stick my fingers in there. Nothing like that on the left side. It seems that there are no clips that that I could push back in, it just hangs freely.
View 2 RepliesMy current A3 has pan roof and it gets quite loud at highway speeds. I only had chance to test drive a tig without the pan roof and I liked it.
View 4 RepliesI took my first road trip last weekend in my new-to-me 2010 Tiguan. At speeds over 70mph, there is a quite loud buzzing noise from the front of the roof area. It sounds like 2 pieces of metal are slapping together at a very high rate of speed. I can't for the life of me figure out what it could be. It is really, really annoying. So much so, that I may take another car for my NYC to Florida trip next month. I'd really like to take the Tiguan though...
I have the panoramic roof - it all seems tight and has no rattles whatsoever. There are no loose moldings, no gaps in the windshield molding. The roof rails appear to be tight, however the front of the right one is slightly raised off of the roof surface. I was going to try to tighten it somehow, but don't know how to even access the screws that hold it down.
My stock tire size is 255/40/19 when shopping for tires the shop that installed the air ride suggest I go with 225/40/19 or 215/40/19, but when calling a few tire shops they are insisting those sizes are not recommended.
the difference is over the 3% threshold making it unsafe, what tire size I should go with while still being in the safety threshold ?
Hard to describe since I'm away from the Tiguan and can't take a picture.. but I noticed that the left side wasn't tucked under, but the right side was. I'm referring to where the two glass roofs meet in the middle. The rubber seals are completely visible from the front but then are tucked under the plastic part at the middle of the sunroof.
View 3 RepliesHad my winter tires put on today and the tpms warning light came on. Tire pressure is ok. Never had this issue before with these tires/wheels. This would be the third winter with them. Is there a way to reset the warning light on a 2010? I have read about doing this on later models but nothing on the 2010. I do not have vagcom tools. Hoping I do not have to take to dealer.
View 4 Replies[URL]... These are the rims I'm looking to install on my 09 Tiguan. What is/are the possible issues going from 17" VW LOS ANGELES rims to these VMR V701 18 or 19" rims might cause? How much they will through off the speedo, and can it be adjusted to compensates for the bigger rims and tires?
View 9 Replieswhat does the front and rear sway bars do? how about the front lower tie bars? are they worth getting? i saw them on sale and i wasn't sure exactly what they did.
View 4 RepliesHad a Gen 2 years ago, first time with a Gen 3. Specs: 2011 Prius Two, not II, CPO'd with 83k miles. I've been experiencing this phenomenon for the past couple of days. I would park the car with 6 or 7 bars, but after 8-10 hours of parking it would power up with only 2 bars, or it would power up with 4-5 bars and quickly go down to 2 cars before it charges back up to 6-7 bars. I called the dealer and the SA tells me it's normal. I know for a fact my Gen 2 didn't and my TCH didn't. So is this something I should be concerned about or is this normal for the Gen 3?
View 3 RepliesI had the red warning, VSC and brake light up on the display. I suspected a bad battery. Bought a Bosch S4, fitted it, all good for about 4 miles, then the warnings came back.
I wondered if the new battery was fully charged so I removed it and charged it. Re-fitted and same thing happened, good for about 4 miles then warnings came back.
The battery fan is on constantly,
The car feels sluggish - loss of power,
The MFD shows the battery bars going from one purple up to all green in a couple of minutes and moving up and down erratically, through all the coloured bars, min to max.
I'm a new Prius owner and don't know if this is normal. Sometimes after being parked for a while and restarted, the icon shows the battery is down to 2 bars. It charges back up after a mile or so of driving. Also if I sit and idle for a while, the battery will drop down, and once going thru a car wash (car in Neutral), a message came on the screen that the Tractor Battery was in trouble (I don't remember the exact words). When I put the car in gear and drove off, the message disappeared and the battery charged up. What's the deal?
View 11 RepliesMy 2008 recently had auxillary battery replaces. My display (seems to me) that the battery bars on the display seem to be low or go low much more often. At freeway speeds the battery appears to be charging, that is, the number of bars get more numerous.
View 1 RepliesI have been driving my new 2011 prius for a week now and have noticed that in stop and go traffic I occasionally get down to three bars before the engine kicks in. Is this normal?
Also today I was in a traffic jam for a half hour and got to 2 bars a few times(lots of stop and go). Is this normal also? When driving on the freeway the bars are always 6-8. There are no colors on the bars, just white.
As I'm driving along, the normal battery strength on the MFD shows 5/6 blue bars but occasionally, it will change to the last but one green bar and sometimes all the bars go green.
Everything else is fine, no warning lights etc.
Is this a normal?
A diagnostic done by a mechanic on my 2005 base model prius pulled the following codes; p3000, c1259, c1310, poa80, p3022. The mechanic replaced the main battery computer, but red triangle still illuminated and green bars are displayed on energy monitor. The car only has only 65,000 miles on it and the car runs ok, but does not accelerate properly. I'm being told the main battery needs to be replaced.
View 14 RepliesSo I met my wife after work. I was killing some time with my son. We drove across the street, then to a neighboring shopping center. I changed the display to see the more accurate instant MPG and noticed my battery was at 2 bars. This is the first time that's happened, that I'm aware of. During normal operation, it stays at 2 bars above the halfway mark, or above.
View 6 RepliesJust got a used 2012 Prius TWO, NOT II, yesterday, I noticed that the battery on the dashboard was down to two bars when I was driving at one point. What happens if it goes to zero bars?
View 10 RepliesI have a 99 passat 1.8t that is putting 250hp to the ground in a front wheel drive. Naturally I am having major traction issues and was wondering anything about traction bars for this car or about awd swap on one of these and what was involved.
