Got the cornering lamp failure (AFS) warning this morning. How easy this is to replace and what the bulb part number is. Did some searching and found that it might be an H7 bulb. Is that correct? Would like to avoid a trip to the dealer if this is pretty easy to replace.
View 7 RepliesI was replacing the side marker lamp on the passenger side. It was super hard to get my hand in there to get it out! The problem is when I was trying to reinsert it, the bulb slipped out of the socket. I think it fell inside the housing. So it looks like I'm going to have remove the headlight housing to get it out.

It just says check light and more often than not, goes off again after a couple of days as in the latest episode. Am I missing something, or is that just the way it is? I do not have a VCDS.
View 7 RepliesThe ESP light to come on while cruising on dry pavement and then the burnt bulb light to come on. They both stayed on until the engine is restarted. I had 3 incidents with the same behavior so far in a month and they stayed on for the duration of the trip.
View 1 RepliesI've installed six LED bulbs in the rear of my 2011 Tiguan (brake and running) and now the "bulb out" warning light comes on intermittently.
I don't need to solve this via resistors, new relay, etc. I just want to disable the warning light. Do this can be done via VAG-COM?
So, last night, a warning light showed up that pointed to a bad headlamp. I have a 2012 SEL with Xenon lights. When I first start the car, they both work. But then after a minute or so the passenger side lamp goes out and the warning light comes on. Each time I first start the car, same thing. Both work, then passenger side goes out. I had Xenon lamps on my 2000 A4 for over 12 years with not a single problem. Though those were not the bi-xenon with the Adaptive auto following lamps.

View 3 RepliesAt times when taking my beloved R aggressively through a long, tight turn (e.g. highway cloverleaf on ramp), usually while while accelerating, I get an oil pressure warning message (turn off engine immediately)...which goes away immediately once I straighten out/ease off on the aggressiveness.
Is this just an indication that oil is a little low? I can't say specifically what the interval vs. the last oil change was when I've had this happen.
After fixing no brake lights on my 86' 740 I still can't get the inner ones to work. To fix the problem I changed the brake lamp failure relay. The bulbs are good. The relay was used.

I got the bulbs already, located the 2 nuts on the inside directly behind the brake light, but when I remove them, the assembly won't pop out.
I know the manual says they recommend getting these particular bulbs replaced at an authorized Hyundai dealer, but since I already bought the bulbs, I'd like to try and do it myself if at all possible.
Based on what I've gathered, this message means that I need to replace a bulb (and not the whole headlight, right?). I haven't looked in my manual yet...but is there a model number for the bulb if I were to purchase it somewhere (i.e., online) if I intend to replace it myself (and/or have someone other than the dealership replace it)?
I have a '06 Passat 2.0.
For several months I would intermittently get a message saying "Bulb failure, Low beam". It would go off and not reappear for a few weeks and then it got to where the message would come on and after a few hours it would go off and then reappear a few days later. Since the time frame was getting shorter and shorter between message appearances I decided it needed to be looked at.
The Volvo dealer just replaced the light bulb. After about a week, the message reappeared.
Long story short, I had the right headlight ballast (headlight igniter) replaced and a new ($230.00) right side Xenon bulb replaced. Neither of these actions has corrected the problem, although the mechanic that did the work said he did a scan on all systems and everything in the car was in good shape. I left his shop and about 6 blocks down the street, the message reappeared.
Driving to work this morning my 'please check lights' warning came on and sure enough my drivers side side light bulb seems to have failed.
Trying to look via search and many threads to see how much work is involved to replace this tiny bulb. The car is due a service shortly and i could get the VW dealer to sort this out but is this going to be something daft like 3hours labour/bumper removal or is it an easy DIY?
This is the first thing to 'fail' in 2.5 years of owenership and not one that needs immediate remedy but would like to sort it out. Presumably i can buy the bulb cheaply enough from VW or Halfords as its not HID etc.
I have a 2016. I'm waiting on some aftermarket headlights and they will look great with LED drl/high beam. Have you installed them in this location ? I'm worried about fitment with the led being too big to fit in there.

Apparently there is a bulb in there somewhere which needs to be replaced. How to change that bulb and get an indicator at night so that I can position the knob in the correct position?

The light behind the temp controls is out on my 99 Passat GLS. First time it went out, I had the dealer replace it. Now, it's out again. The instructions was to pull out the Temp Control Knob and you could see the bulb. I pulled off the Temp Knob on my 99 but did not see a bulb.
Where to find the bulb and how to get to it/replace it (and what bulb this would be).
The 02 bulb responders even said to use a vacuum or a rubber hose to remove. Even if I see a bulb in the center of the Temp Knob housing (which I didn't), I still can't figure out how to pull a bulb out unless I used a needlenose pliers (which will likely break the bulb).
One of my interior bulbs had blown and all of the others was still working ! I replacement the blown bulb and now none of the work!!
I've had a look thought the manual and cannot find a fuse for this, how to sort this.
Daughter just called (2010 Prius) and said that someone told her that a headlamp is out. Is there not a bulb failure indicator on the dashboard?
View 19 RepliesReplacing license plate bulb on a 3rd gen rx? I tried taking off the interior lining on the rear hatch but no luck. There's access covers for taillight & reverse, but none for license plate light. I also tried "popping" out the plate light cover right above the license plate... don't think they are designed to be popped out.
View 3 RepliesMy passenger side headlight was out so I replaced what I thought was the offending bulb, but the light still won't turn on. The parking light turns on fine, as do all the other lights. I really don't want to hear that I have a wiring issue which would require a trip to the shop.
