Tiguan :: Coming Home Lights Staying On
Mar 17, 2015
Any setting that would cause it. Light switch in auto position. Parked Tig at night. Coming home lights were on. When I came out an hour later they were still on. Tried a number of things to turn them off but no luck. Next day in daylight, after I boosted my battery, the coming home lights were off. This was on a 2009 Tig that I was test driving and am thinking of purchasing. It is currently back at the car dealer to be checked out, along with a few other issues that need to be addressed. Hoping it is not a sign of bigger problems.

I would assume that my sensor needs replacement. What it takes to access the sensor? Where is it exactly located before I start ripping apart everything.

According to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

What could cause both the ASR and ABS lights to stay on? I thought it had something to do with the crank sensor, because a few things i have seen said that was one of the fixes, but I just put a new crank sensor in, but the lights are still on? 03 GTI 1.8t AWP.

I have a 2016 mkx and when we shut it off, all of the lights stay on. We turned off the headlamp delay. Set it to zero.

Happened to pop into my garage tonight and notice my brake lights on my 04 GLX won't turn off. I checked to make sure I didn't leave the main lights on or anything else I can think of. The only way I could get the lights to stay of was to pull fuse 13.

My brake lights are staying on all the time. I changed my brake light switch. This did not work. I took it to the dealer and they could not figure out what was causing this. They felt it could be a wire which might take them 10 hours to trace down @ $95 an hour. I don't understand how a wire could do this.

My son's 08 1500 2WD truck has had problems with the cruise control not working correctly. Think I found out why, was following him today, and his brake lights came on. He was on an open road, no traffic, so I called him and asked if he was riding the brake with his left foot. He said No. Told him what I saw, and when he came to a red light, I told him to stab the brake 2 or 3 times, then let up. No change, brake lights stayed lit. He pulled into a lot, and unplugged the connector on the brake pedal arm. Then he turned on the key, brake lights were still on. Connector has 4 wires, I guessed one circuit for brake lights, one for cruise? Or is one for the transmission interlock solenoid that prevents shifting out of Park until you press the brake pedal? Getting ready to go check things with a voltmeter.

I started having an issue with my battery light coming on and staying on so everyone told me change the alternator. So i did. 4 days later the battery light came back on and now i have it in the shop, alternator check came out good, battery check came out good and starter check came out good.
I haven't had any issues with the car before now, i have made several long trips, bought it brand new and have 69,000 miles on it. I love my car, but I am scared to find out what it's going to cost to fix it.

The marker lights and tail lights are suppose to go off when you turn off the car. Unfortunately mine are staying on and the only why to get them to turn off is disconnecting the battery.

I have a 2012 Sonata for 4 years. In the past year I've experienced the ABS, Brake, TC lights staying on. Then had a bad battery and a headlight go out. Got all that done but after 4 months on new battery, it failed, and the 3 lights came on again. According to codes, dealer says the issue is a valve and they cannot give an estimate for repair but to tear down the valve and probe to find it, will cost me $132. That doesn't set well with me so I elected to drive on with lights on. They did say the battery & headlight issues were not related to the 3 lights staying on.

I have a 2016 Elantra GT with less than 1000 miles on it and I just started coming across an issue yesterday. I have had my ABS and trac light kick off on me and stay lit until I shut the car down, then it will start back up with no issue. I don't have a compatible scanner to pull the codes so I am not sure what in the system is kicking the light.
Its random when happening and I double checked that my wiring was all hooked up properly from the factory on all items included in the circuit. I also checked the wheel bearings just to rule out possibly having a bad one which I would find hard to believe with under 1000 miles on it even if faulty.
Are there any common issues with the ABS, traction, or stability control systems on these cars that people have come across? Obviously I'm under warranty so I'm not worried about getting it fixed.

I have 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE V6, 72k. Out of warranty. Problem is parking lights does not turn off when I turn off the car and take the key out. I have to play with the switch from On to Auto many times in order to turn them off. Sounds like stuck relay. I also have "auto switch off" feature which is supposed to turn off everything when I open the driver’s door AND the key is out. This does not turn off the lights as well. Lately it is very difficult to turn them off, especially when the car has been running for some time. Brake switch as per the recall has been changed in the past.
I went to the dealership, paid $110 for diagnostics and they said I need to replace the junction fuse box in the engine compartment - I found such a box for less and replaced it myself. Problem still exist. After reading some more online, the forums said that the parking relay is integrated in the other junction/fuse box – the one under the left front dash (91950-3K560).
Can this box be opened and fixed? Is there another solution other than replacing the fuse box?

Had this 2015 Prius 4 four a couple months. Today, all of the interior lights, (the two in the front, plus the dome light) are all staying on. The switch in the back is in the middle. Messed with it. Didn't work. They are staying on, after locking doors and significant time lapse. Is there a switch or button that would do this?

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 4X4 extended cab with short box with a 5.3L. A couple weeks ago I noticed that my brake lights were staying on all the time. I removed the fuses for the trailer left and right lights and the brake lights went out. due to the holidays I haven't had time to find out why the lights were staying on.
Today I noticed that my 3rd brake light was staying on all the time, even with the truck off, and no one in the truck, and my electric brake controller inside the cab was on. I unplugged the controller from the fuse panel and the controller light went out but the 3rd brake light was still on. I couldn't find a fuse, so I removed the bulbs. Where I would start to find the problem.

Dash lights that stay on? I know of 2 trucks that dash lights stay on all the time. Dome lights are not on so it should be the doors causing it.
