Headlight switch failure. '12 SEL with factory HID. While in the "Auto" mode during broad daylight, headlights will start to flash on and off. VAGCOM revealed a fault code to the headlight switch. Dealer has already replaced it once and it started again within a few days.
View 6 RepliesI've started retrofitting foglights into my mother's 2012 Tiguan (S 4motion). All of the parts were dealer ordered, but twice now they've sent me the wrong switch. The mounting/locking mechanism is the wrong size (too large on the new switches). In addition, the second switch had an "auto" selection.
The original part number was 3C8941431F C1F-T shown on the left here:
The two part numbers they have shipped so far are:

I need a standard headlight switch, no auto, with fog (front only is fine).
I have a 2011 Tiguan S 4Motion with just over 63k Miles which for the most part has been problem free and great to drive since I leased it at 40k miles. About 2 weeks ago my CEL came on and I used the Torque app on my phone to check the code and it was the apparently well known P2015 intake manifold runner position switch code. The car was running perfectly fine so I cleared the code and it stayed off for about a week before coming back on with the same fault again yesterday. I have a couple of questions for the much more knowledgeable than I people in this forum around this code.
First - I've read in several places that VW has placed an extended warranty on the manifold and fuel injectors for the 2.0 TSI and that this code is usually an indicator that the manifold needs to be replaced under this warranty. What I haven't found though is conclusive info on is whether the 2.0T in my 2011 Tiguan is covered under this extended warranty. Since this code so conveniently is popping up just 3k miles past the end of my 60K mark, I'd like to know this. I leased the car from Enterprise, not a dealer so I'm worried that whatever dealer I take it too will try to bend me over on the service so the knowledge that the manifold is still covered would be at least some comfort.
Second - I won't be able to get it in to a service department until mid next week and I have a 300 mile trip to make this weekend. The car is driving fine as far as I can tell so I'm not overly concerned. I do my own basic maintenance i.e. oil changes, plugs/coil packs etc. but I'm thinking changing the manifold would be a little bit out of my comfort zone..
I just bought a set of 2013 20" rims for my 2012 F-250. I can't seem to get the tire fault light to go off. I've gone through the "learn" process but it won't read them. Are the TPMS not the same between years?
View 2 RepliesThe EPC light came on the the MFD read: Engine Fault Workshop! This happened once before for about a second, but today the car dropped to limp mode and would not recover. She had a flat bed take it to the dealer and they "reset the throttle" and it is okay now. Aside from running the adaption routine, I am clueless what this means. I will scan the codes tonight.
View 9 RepliesI was driving my Tiguan and began to roll on the throttle and the check engine light started flashing. Running in 93 mode, I thought. But I did just run out a tank of 100 and did I forget to switch the program? I usually only drive this car on the weekends so its possible.
Now the EPC light came on and I cannot seem to clear the error. I've held the resume button and the check engine light has flashed once, then twice, letting go when the respected command is reached.
Am I missing something? Or did I indeed possibly grenade this thing? When I say roll in to throttle, I mean I was just starting to spool the turbo. By no means was I hard on it......yet....
I changed my brake light switch, and i had my buddy check it with vagcom and now I am getting a clutch pedal switch fault and I am also getting a clutch mechanical fault in my rear end what the most probable cause of this, could it be the clutch pedal switch causing a mechanical fault?
View 4 RepliesRemoved the battery to install a boost gauge and came back to a christmas tree cluster. Not just the usual steering/EPC either. I can post the expanded scan but you can see a lot of things are affected, still drives fine however. Airbag fault and parking brake fault appear on MFD as well.

my wife came home today and said that the left rear turn indicator and the right headlight were out on her 2010 tiguan se. Well, upon further inspection I noticed that there is more to it than that. The following lights are out;
drivers side city light
passenger side headlight
passenger side fog light
passenger side turn signal (front)
right rear running light (not the one on the lift gate) inner bulb
running light on the left side of the lift gate
left rear turn indicator
left rear running light (not the one on the lift gate) outer bulb
I would like to know how you adjust the headlight height on your Tig. Does it have an electrical control/wheel on the dashboard or are there any different ways of adjusting.

View 1 RepliesSo my headlight switch is literally On/Off. I disabled the DRL by folding down the pin inside. But I am replacing my headlights with a custom projector housing with HID lows, halogen highs, LED Fogs, and CCFL halos, so I'd like the ability to turn on just parking lights or just the fog lights to show off the Halos etc. If I pick up a Bora Switch that has these features, will I have to re-wire/run through fuse box, etc.
View 7 RepliesHave had my '11 Tiguan with 46K miles on in it into the dealer twice now for this issue. The first time they diagnosed the issue as a faulty control module, ordered one from Germany, installed in and the issue went a way for a while...
Over the past week the problem has come back with a vengeance. The Tiguan would complain that various headlights, fog lights, blinkers and backup lights were out. Sometimes turning on the lights and turning on the high beams would fix the issues, other times turning off the car and starting it again was necessary. Went into the dealership today and the issue was diagnosed as a burned fuse block.
On my 09 Camry LE most of the time at least once or twice when driving at night with the headlights in AUTO mode if you go to hit the turn signals to switch lanes or make a turn the switch will change to either the off position or on position. This is especially annoying as if you do not realize the headlights are on you can park and leave them on draining your battery.
I have driven plenty (hundreds) of Gen 6 Camry's and have never experienced this. My Corolla switch has never so much as hinted at moving although it only stays in the off position since DRL are always active but anyway. If I am going to replace the switch might as well opt for the XLE/SE switch for my fog upgrade.
How do you remove the headlight switch on a 2008 Passat B6? i tried pushing it in and turning it right, but i still cant pull the switch out. Am I doing something wrong, or does it not come out on this model?
View 6 RepliesHow do we activate the rear fog on the Tiguan? I have been playing with the coding but have as of yet found a way to activate it. I am assuming that it will be one of the lights on the hatch that is supposed to be the rear fog...but can not find or get any info.
I have the parking lights active already...now I want my rear fog active as well. I don't care about the dash icon...but I do want the light to actually work. I have done this on all of my previous cars (run the wiring etc) but this Tiguan seems to be eluding me! [IMG] [URL] ....
I have a 2011 tiguan 2.0tdi 4motion, around 3 days ago the left headlight dipped beam stopped working, I replaced the bulb with no avail, the sidelights, and high beam work, just nothing on dipped beam, at first the warning lamp illuminated with the message on the screen, of check left dipped beam, I've checked and have no voltage going to the connection the bulb connects to, now the warming light and message have dissapeared but still no headlight. Where to locate the fuse for the headlight...
View 4 RepliesSo, last night, a warning light showed up that pointed to a bad headlamp. I have a 2012 SEL with Xenon lights. When I first start the car, they both work. But then after a minute or so the passenger side lamp goes out and the warning light comes on. Each time I first start the car, same thing. Both work, then passenger side goes out. I had Xenon lamps on my 2000 A4 for over 12 years with not a single problem. Though those were not the bi-xenon with the Adaptive auto following lamps.

kept the Auto switch in...
with the DRL's activated (they are in the fog light position):
Off: DRLs
Auto: full lighting on
Parking: DRLs (plus I can use rear fog)
Low beam: full lighting (plus front & rear fogs)
and since activating the coming home and leaving home... the coming home works on "auto" position.
I suppose it could be unrelated but yesterday i was showing my coworker how easy it was to remove the headlight switch on my 2010 golf tdi (he has an a3). I took it out of the slot, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and slid it back into place. im sure i didnt yank on the wiring harness but who knows. I went to turn on my car and now i have an airbag fault showing up for the driver seat position sensor. I looked under the seat and everything is still plugged in, along with in the little access panel where the wiring goes.

I noticed that there is no parking light position on the headlight switch, so how does the headlight switch work? Either all OFF or all on? Or is the on position really "auto"
