I currently drive a 2011 Comfortline 6M. I notice that when i drive over rough terrain (roads, curbs, speedbumps) that i feel a weird vibration in the brake pedal and don't have any braking control. I have also noticed this in heavy rain conditions.
(Note: I have taken the vehicle to have the brakes checked at the dealer and they cannot find an issue. It also feels different than the ABS)
The brake pedal on my Golf 4 GTI 132KW pulsates when I put my foot on the pedal going over uneven terrain without pushing the pedal in.

Shortly after that both me and my wife noticed that the brake pedal vibrates while car is In stop on lights. The vibration is only on the pedal and if you press it hard you suppress it. But when you feet is pressing light in the air it's very noticeable.
She also thinks that during above scenario RPMs go from about 1000k to 900 so are dropping. To be honest I did not notice that and not sure if this is normal or not. Other than that the car runs great and sounds much nicer bit loud but I like it.
My girlfriend now encountered a brake problem twice: In those situations she needed to brake but the pedal was really stiff, did hardly move and the car did not brake. Only long hard pushing finally succeeded. The second time she nearly got into an accident because of this so we took the car to the dealer then who found nothing and said the brakes are ok. I drove the car the first 5k miles and never had such a problem.
View 20 RepliesI have a 1999 GMC Sierra. The rear differential cover was leaking on me for past couple of months, but I was putting it off. FInally this weekend my truck starting making an airplane sound that seemed to be coming from the rear. The sound happened on acceleration only, and increased in amplitude and frequency as the speed increased and as I pressed the gas more. If I let go of the gas, or let it cruise, then the sound would sputter once or twice, and go away. It would resume if I pressed on the gas again.
Since the rear differential cover was leaking, I thought I burned out the gears. When I changed the cover, the gears appeared to be fine. The lubricant was super low, and did smell burned out though. I refilled the fluid and put a new cover on. This did not solve my noise problem though.
Is it still the rear differential that is making the noise? Is it something else? How hard is it, and how involved is it to replace the rear differential? Can I replace its components, and which ones?
I have 2010 Tig, for the last 2 days, the TPMS on the MFD will stay displayed until I press down on the brake pedal, then it goes out, is this the sign on some problem?
View 5 RepliesFor the past couple of days I have been hearing a window rattle. It is hard to figure out where the rattle is coming from, but my guess would be the hatchback door. It only occurs when I am driving on a rough terrain with a lot of bumps.
View 7 RepliesI got my 2011 Tiguan today but the manual is being shipped up so I don't have it yet. I got it home (I love it), and I stopped at my mailbox and engaged the parking brake. I had engaged it before and only had to let up the clutch and it would disengage. This time it stalled. I started it again. Pushed the parking brake button down. It would not release. Pulled it up. It would not release. Simultaneously pulled it up and put my foot on the brake, and it released. I know it's gotta be easier than this, but I don't know the trick yet I guess.
View 11 RepliesOK, I thought I saw where people were lubing certain areas for a clunk but it was a squeek.
Seems like over rougher terrain my 11 sunroof tends to clunk. However the painful part is I can't reproduce it on demand, clunk or a rattle. Its deeper in tone for sure and not a squeak.
My 3 month old Tiguan will buck repeatedly when my foot is on the brake after shifting from P to D or S on occasion. If I put it back in Park then shift back to drive or sport, it goes away... I took it to the dealer and they couldn't reproduce the issue after a few hours. It has happened to me a few times now, and it is quite concerning. I'm guessing it is either the trans or maybe the Turbo baffle causing the issue, but can;t find any info online.
View 8 RepliesI recently drove to work last week and the downtown roads suck, ever since noticing this it seems like my brand new sonata is very bumpy. Its like now I am noticing all the bumps. Tires seem to make a lot of noise too.
Also when accelerating it seems like i can feel it in my foot on the gas pedal. I would say like vibration but not a vibration if that makes sense.
Any sonata owners notice when they have their foot on the gas pedal its not so smooth. Can you feel the engine working through the pedal?
This is a brand new car with less than 2,000 km on it.
I have less than 1000km on my new 2014 XTR SC. I had an AS 2.5/1.5" kit installed and a wheel alignment. There is a dull clunk in the rear when driving slowly over rough terrain(dirt roads n potholes). It happens occasionally when taking turns at lower speeds too. A friend who is a mechanic installed the kit and its the 4th kit he has installed for me. Never an issue.
The truck had to go to the dealer to have the remote start installed and they investigated the clunk and tightened up some nuts and bolts and its still there. They blamed the leveling kit and said its normal sometimes. This is definitely not normal! I've searched and can't find anything.
2011, 2.0T, with 58,000 miles, and everything's perfect, nothing but synthetic oil changes and premium fuel. But, Over the last month, I get a new vibration when I come to a complete stop, and stay in Drive. Once I shift to Neutral, it naturally goes away, and it shifts normally. I've never done anything to the Tranny.
The car has always been like this but this new vibration is bad, I can feel the pulsing in the brake pedal and you can hear it in the engine. What's making me take it to the Dealer is when my wife drove it, she said she noticed it, I said it must be bad.
My car is a 2004 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L. I've been having a brake pulsation problem with my car for few months. I feel the vibration on the pedal and also on the steering wheel when I brake at high speeds. And also I feel like the pedal goes too low and not responsive enough.
So I took the car to a local shop 3 days ago and they told me that the front rotors are bad and have to be replaced. They installed new Wagner front brake rotors and pads. But still I get the same problems described above. Today I drove on the highway and got the same vibration both on pedal and steering when I apply brakes.
This morning I could feel vibration in both the clutch pedal and the brake pedal under normal acceleration. This just happened and is significant enough to make me feel something is wrong. Car has about 5700 miles on it. To be honest, I have never liked this transmission and have zero confidence in it. It feels completely weak, loose, soft, and lacks any feedback except unbelievably notchy shifting. Maybe it's my DieselGeek. I've already had to tighten/adjust it twice in ~2000 miles.
I am not resting my foot on the pedals during acceleration. I can feel the vibration as I go to engage the clutch/apply brakes.
Has intermittent buzzing sensation through both the brake pedal and accelerator when at low speed or stationary? I drive a v10 diesel. I am aware of the normal vibration associated with a diesel (which is near non-existent in the Phaeton) but this is something very different.
View 23 RepliesI have a 2011 RX350 and like car for the most part. Something strange I have noticed is that the gas pedal seams to have some little vibration when I am pressing it smoothly. My foot is constant on the gas pedal maybe 1/4 of the way down and it doesn't feel smooth like other vehicles. I have a 2014 lex IS250 and it doesn't have that vibration. Also had a 2004 RX330 and it did not have that vibration. It is a slight vibration that ruins the luxury driving experience.

View 8 RepliesWhen I drive my 2010 Toyota Corolla on a rough tar road, i feel dashboard vibration on the drivers side. The vibration is sensed in the instrument panel and also around the window. This happens if the tar road is rough or uneven. Is there anyway to remove the top of the dashboard and insulate it?
I live in sunny South Florida, so the heat makes the plastics in these corollas rattle or vibrate more, going over rough tar roads.
My friend got her front brakes and rotors replaced a few days ago and now the brake pedal is vibrating at various times. It happens when slowing down and at a complete stop. Sounds like the ABS is kicking in to me, BUT is also does it sometimes when driving at low speeds (under 40mph) without pressing the brake pedal. No loud clicking noises, just a quick steady vibration felt at the brake pedal/flooboard.
The service was not done at Hyundai dealership. She is out of town at the moment so we haven't had a chance to take it to the shop yet. She called, they played dumb apparently. I don't know enough about Hyundais to diagnose.
At high speeds 70mph + there is a vibration with my 2006 Passat. You can definitely feel it at your feet, and slighty at the body. It is snowy and cold up here, I tried a few different roads, no change.
