I am rocking an 09 Tiguan which unfortunately is out of warranty. Last night while listening to music my back two speakers quit working and still aren't working. I don't see how I could have blown them both at the same time, my volume was only at 16.
View 14 RepliesOur 2009 SEL is equipped with the RNS-510 but no bluetooth. This is an early US model. Upon leaving for work yesterday and a few moments after openning the door to get inside the car, a buzzing static noise started playing from all of the speakers. Imagine white noise with a bee hive and that is the sound. The noise started before we put the key in the ignition. The noise stopped momentarily as we cranked the starter, but continued afterward. Turning on the RNS510 resulted in muffled sound like music inside a can on top of the static. Turning the unit on/off didn't change anything. Turning the motor on/off did nothing to change anything.
For the 20 minute drive to work the noise continued. My wife parked the car and the sound continued as she went into work. At the end of the day, upon returning to the vehicle the noise was gone and has not come back.
This is the second time in about 2 years this has happened. I scanned for codes and didn't get any. We have an iPhone video of it (not sure how to post that) to share at the next service. Currently the vehicle has 37,000 miles (relatively trouble free).
2010 full load Tiguan- perfect this a.m., but wife went to drive home & no blower fan. The dial lights up and moves as dial turned, but no fan at all.
Checked the fuses under dash, nothing burnt out. What am I missing??
I have a 2009 Camry XLE with the split reclining rear seats and the retractable (stupid) sunshade. I bought new 6x9's to replace speakers all around (Infinity 9632) with adapter plates. Got the door speakers replaced easily enough, but for the life of me I cannot figure out the rear deck. It is all one piece of plastic, no removable speaker grills. And of course the speakers are screwed in top down. Most of the posts I have found on the internet are either for previous gen Camry's or people who have the folding down rear seat.
So after a lot of manual labor I was able to remove the back seat completely and the center console. I can pop the front of the back plate up and peek in, but cannot get it to come out. I think something is odd with the models with the retractable sunscreen and reclining seats.
I have scoured the internet endlessly. Closest post I found was "take off the rear side panels (by the back window) and the deck should pop out. There are airbags in there, not very keen on forcing anything.
The car has the "premium" JBL sound system which I found to not be so "premium" and was a serious step down from my last car's factory stereo.
My front speakers have stopped working. I thought it was the stereo itself (why would both speakers stop?) but I've replaced the head unit and still nothing. No buzz, nothing. Which leads me to think it's something else.
View 5 RepliesI have an '09 Corolla S with the non-JBL sound system, 6 disk in-dash changer and 6 speakers. I am getting no sound from the speakers except a small burst of static when I turn the ignition on and once in a while sporadic static. The Radio is still playing CD's, FM, Etc, but no sound. All fuses are good and the clock works. I disconnected the factory iPod interface and still nothing. I also tried a different aftermarket HU, but still no sound... I'm on the road all the time so I'm over 50,000k and there is no warranty left on the radio. I've also torn the dash out checking wires and connections and can't seem to find anything abnormal.
View 12 RepliesI have a 1999 GMC Jimmy. Today I rolled my power front passenger window down and it's still there. Main Control panel on driver side won't roll it back up and passenger switch won't roll it up either. All other windows and locks work fine and I do not hear anything when trying to roll the window up. Does this automatically mean the motor just went out all of a sudden?
View 3 RepliesI have a OEM base model head unit and today both front speakers stopped working out of nowhere I pulled the head unit out to see if everything was plugged in and it all was snug.. I checked all the fuses too. Is there any other way to check to see if its my head unit thats bad or the speakers? And I guess my second question is if I replace my head unit with a aftermarket one do I still need to retain the stock unit? My sunfire had that problem I needed to put my oem radio in the trunk and hook it into my new aftermarket one. I did try adjusting the fade and all the setting too with no luck.
View 3 Replies85 f150. My driver side brake light and turn signal in the back quit working. The tail light works tho which is a different filament. The bulb is good and I changed the flasher relay...the circle thing in the fuse panel. Everything else works just fine. looking for a starting point.
View 7 RepliesThe 12 V power outlet on my 2009 Corolla has quit working. Checked the fuse and it is not blown still no adapter works when plugged into the socket. The car just turned over 36,000 so it's now out of warranty (good thing the water pump failed at 32,000). The owners manual only shows fuses in the engine compartment is a separate fuse block for the dash that could be blown or perhaps a disconnected socket or wiring problem. How to access the back of the 12 V power socket? BTW my dealer has informed me that since my cars VIN begins with J it is not affected by the gas pedal recall. Haven't seen this anywhere so thought I'd share it.
View 13 Repliesi have a 2013 Ecoboost Screw. This morning, I was leaving for work about 0445, and was pulling out of my driveway, when I realized my headlights were not on. I tried rotating the switch a few times off and on, and still nothing. I pulled back in my driveway and checked all fuses for headlights, both low beams and high beams. All good. My parking lights, turn signals, and tail lights all work.
When I got home from work tonight, I tried a few more things. I pulled the lamp housing and checked for voltage directly to the bulb. I get 0.9 VDC at one pin and 0 VDC at the other two. Not nearly enough to fire up a bulb. To a known good ground.
I opened the dashboard to check the harness at the switch itself, and when I unplugged it, all lights turned on (except the headlights). Is that a failsafe in case the switch goes out while driving?
As a last ditch desperate measure, I disconnected my negative battery terminal for about 15 minutes just to see if anything changed. I don't know where else to go from here.
Yesterday I replaced the battery in my 2013 F150. Since I did this, both running boards just stopped working. I checked the fuse, it is good. Is there a connector around the batter that I may have knocked loose?
View 11 RepliesThe media button on SYNC quit working last week(2010 F150, six cd player, no navigation). No voice commands or phone, also can not perform the "Master Reset" because the phone button on dash does not work. I have had this issue before and pulling fuse 13 for a couple of minutes always fixed it. Pulling the fuse no longer fixes the problem. I also tried disconnecting the battery.
I left the cable off overnight and still no luck. I came across a similar problem being fixed by a ACM reprogramming TSB (SYNC (possibly) Fixed by TSB 11-10-22) on a another forum. Do reprogramming working on a dead SYNC system when the hard reset was tried and did not solve the problem? Dealer did not want to reprogram ACM and told me need a new APIM.
Does the Ford emblem/camera just pop off the tailgate with a screw driver? Pry from top or bottom? I'm trying not to break anything here. I removed the tailgate panel inside and can't get any access there.
Both the camera and reverse sensors have quit working. I'm troubleshooting both but I'm not sure they are related. The camera died first but worked sometimes after slamming the tailgate. Sensors quit sometime after. Don't really care about the sensors but the camera is essential for hooking up the trailers.
I was hoping the wiring from the tailgate to the plug would be cut but that doesn't appear to be the case. I'd like to check the camera itself next. Ohm it out or something, I don't know.
I took my truck to the dealer because my steering wheel buttons quit working as far as going forward or back between songs via bluetooth. The tech said the buttons don't work via bluetooth from the factory and I told him he was wrong. They worked in a 2007 Edge, 2008 F150, 2009 Fusion, 2009 F250, and until the day before, my 2012 F150. He said "You must be mistaken". I took it home, pulled Fuse 2 (Sync) waited a couple of minutes (Nice place for the fuse box, Ford) put the fuse back, let Sync load, repaired, etc, and my steering buttons now work again. I only use bluetooth with both my S3 and Note 2, so if your buttons stop working, do you always have to pull the fuse, or is there an easier way to fix this? That's the fix I found.
View 8 RepliesHave a '13 F150 Platinum. Recently three things "broke" at the same time and I suspect a fuse but cannot locate the right one. At first I thought it was just the GD Opener, but when trying to reprogram it, I realized the red lights were not lighting up and the Drivers side Vanity Mirror light was not working.
About the same time, I noticed that the Instrument Cluster Memory function quit working and weirdly, every time the truck is switched off and then back on, it always comes back to the trailer tow screen for my Snowmobile trailer.
I thought i had it solved when I found that the trailer back-up lamp relay power fuse ( #43 in fusebox under hood) was blown. I replaced with a good 15 amp fuse and the problems are still there. I have searched high and low and cannot find a fuse for the Car2u GD Opener or the Driver Vanity Mirror Light (neither Vanity light for that matter. I tested all under hood fuses, but the kick panel fuses are impossible to check one-by-one.
I have a 2009 Tiguan. The passenger side seat warmer does not work. The driver side seat warmer works, and apparently adequately.
I know, using the multimeter, that the connection between the control module (under the driver seat) and the harness on the passenger seat is intact. However, I cannot detect any voltage coming from the control module to the passenger seat.
Looking for a wiring diagram showing the 8-pin configuration of the control module and the respective plug? I want to see if there is current coming from the seat warmer switch, but there seems to be two same-colored wires (likely representing the left and right [driver and passenger] circuit) and before I start poking around with the multimeter, I want to be sure what is what.
Also, I assume the seat warmer has a thermostat. Any guidance about determining the correct resistance?
Just FYI for those that may encounter key fob issues after replacing the battery:
Yesterday, I noticed the one of key fobs stopped working (2009 Tig SEL). The key fob battery was dead (tested the battery in another device). My 2nd key fob still worked, so I used that until I was able to pickup a new battery (2032) from the local store. Got home replaced the battery in the key fob that did not work. The key fob now lit the LED whenever I hit any of the buttons on the remote, but would not actually unlock/lock any of the doors / hatch or PANIC functions.
Called my local VW dealer and they to swing by (I work less than 5 minutes from them). One of the techs came out an verified the the key fob did not work, but did light up the LED. He told me they have seen this before and it does not always happen from changing the battery, but here is how he got the key fob to work:
Use the flip out key and manually open the driver's side front door (remove the little key cover on the rear of the door handle). 'Cycle' the key clockwise and counter-clockwise. Doing this locked and unlocked the veh / flashing the lights and sounded the beep. Remove keyfob and then use. The keyfob was now recognized and worked.
I checked a few fuses when my 12v power sources quit working and now the engine won't start. I get a start system fault and hill incline fault among other warnings. What happened?

View 5 RepliesTry setting your fader entirely to the back speakers and tell me if the sound coming out is at all full/complete. I can hardly hear anything coming from the back.
