So today I got in the car and started to drive off and noticed a squeal coming from the front passenger tire while the vehicle is moving forward. This is the first time I've heard this noise and it is very annoying and loud.

I purchased it used with 28K on it in May of this year
I have noticed several times when leaving my driveway (backing out OR driving out) that it feels like I have a flat spot in my passenger front tire. The first couple times I pulled over to check the tire pressure to make sure it was ok, and it was. It doesn't happen every day, but I have noticed it 4-5 times in the last 5-6 weeks. I was talking to a guy from work and he has the same issue.
View 9 RepliesMy right front passenger tire keeps making a loud squealing noise. I've had the brakes and pads changed several times and it keeps making the same noise. I've taken it to the dealer but when they drive it, of course it doesn't make the noise. They checked it and everything seems fine. I took it to another mechanic and they heard the noise as well but can't find any problems. They greased all the gears in the wheel area and it stopped making the noise for a couple of weeks, but then starts right back up again. The car drives perfectly other than that. I'm going to see if I can attach a video file so you can hear the noise. I'm thinking it could be the bearings but everyone that looks at it says they're fine. The noise in the video is much more pronounced now and is a constant sharp squeal.
View 1 Replies2011 F-350 XL, I can hear a squeal coming from the front brakes when rolling forward slowly, believe the pads are dragging on the rotors. If I touch the brake pedal the squeal stops as it does when I turn the wheel. Took the calipers off and greased the slide pins and put it all back together, still got the squeal. What don't I know???

Have you found a remedy for this?
I bought my 2011 Sonata with 27k miles on it. After a while (few months) I noticed on occasion when turning I would get a screeching/squeal noise from the front tires. Only happened during certain turns (U turns I noticed where higher chance of happening).
I rotated the tires (Front to the rear, Rear to the front), and then there was a loud humming noise. I got it checked with the dealer and they confirmed tires were cupping (uneven treadwear right?) . So now its been 10,000 miles and the noise is the same. I just got an alignment done and there has been not much of a change.
So, other than getting new tires, should I get the tires balanced? Or just rotate them once more so that the rear return to the front again? Will I have to get another alignment done?
2007 Sonata SE, 74,000 miles
Just took the car in for brake service (not the dealership) because of what I was convinced was a brake pad sensor warning sound - something I've heard with other cars I've had, and been correct about. However, the tech said the pads were fine.
The sound is a high pitched squeal, intermittent, coming from the passenger front wheel. It can be heard when coasting at moderate speed (30 mph or so), not so much when accelerating, and especially when turning left. It got worse today, with a low grinding sound at moderately slow braking speed that started after about two hours of start and stop driving (house hunting). The car has needed a couple re-alignments and will have to get checked for possible camber? adjustment (rear tires wore badly on outside edges, far less pronounced on front tires). Car has tendency to pull to the right.
Any thoughts on a main culprit here for the squealing-grinding noise or about the possible inter-relatedness of symptoms.
I have a 2014 Sonata GLS with only 4200 km on it, purchased new in August 2014. The car has been flawless...until yesterday. I took the car for its first oil/filter change and asked them to check tire pressure at the same time...this was at a Hyundai dealership, btw.
I left the dealership and immediately noticed that the car was swaying and more wobbly than normal (i can make it bounce from side to side by moving my body in the driver's seat), and when I make a right turn there is an awful squeal from the right-front tire.
I've done some online research today but couldn't get back to the dealer before they closed to look at it. Most posts I've read point to under inflated tires, but there are others that say wheel bearing and more.
2011 F250 6.7L Powerstroke, automatic tranny, Electric Locking Diff
When I engage the On the Fly 4WD switch the indicator panel says "shift to 4x4H in Progress" and everything seems fine but if I am not moving forward when I shift the 4WD doesn't engage. The engine revs up but nothing happens. When I release the accelerator the transfer case bangs like it is going to rip out of the truck. In reverse it is even worse. I am lucky that I didn't gun it or I could have done allot of potential damage. All my other Ford 4WD vehicles engage immediately from a full stopped position. This is quite of troublesome because if you have to shift when your stuck in the mud, your still stuck. If I shift while moving forward it works just fine.
My question is: Does this particular model (2011 F250 6.7L Powerstroke with an automatic tranny) have to be moving forward in order for the 4WD to engage?
I am experiencing a front passenger area body creak noise and recently found a TSB to get it fixed. How much it might cost be to get it done at the dealership or anywhere else?
View 1 RepliesMy husband and I almost bought a used 14 sonata SE last night, but it was contingent on the dealer fixing the clicking or pinging noise going on under the passenger front door. It was going on during the test drive and continued after the car was turned off. The car has 7,000 miles on it. So the dealer took it to a hyundai dealer this morning to have it repaired under warranty, and the hyundai dealer said its a normal new car noise and will work itself out with time - but there's nothing to repair.
I'm aware that sometimes exhaust systems or heat shields ping a few times when the car is turned off? Did it eventually stop? And when? It really is annoying. I'd like to get this car, but he refuses to buy it if it's making this noise.
I have this noticeable creaking noise that pops up every now and then on the front passenger side of the car. Problem is it is hard to replicate to the dealer. I usually notice it going over dips at some times, and most when I make a right turn into a raised road. Otherwise, not a peep out of the car.

I've noticed sometimes when I startup and shift into reverse the car jerks a bit and its not a smooth transition. However other times the car is very fluid in switching gears. Should I take it in to have a look at it?
Also when I am turning onto a unleveled road (usually a higher road), I notice a creaking/knocking noise coming from the front of the car, also notice it when I reverse into a parking space sometimes.
So for a couple months now, my ride has been making some weird noises.
When I start the car up after anything longer than a couple hours of use, it sounds as if I have a piece of loose metal banging/moving around. I hear it sporadically on shifting through the gears, and when I'm at a stop.
Car has been in to the dealer three times, and I took the foreman on a test drive...of course it wouldn't make the sound at all.
I took a look under the hood today and noticed that the coolant level is low...filling it back up tomorrow. That got me thinking about the transmission fluid....I looked and looked, and can't find the transmission dipstick anywhere.
Any clue where I can find some way to check the level?
2006 Sonata V6. Front brakes only squeal when applying them while in reverse. Happens all the time......cold/warm start, cool/hot weather, dry/humid air. Squeal is extremely loud. I have searched and found similar but nothing exactly like this. Pads and rotors are fairly new and I have removed them and reinstalled and regreased twice. I am using ceramic pads and have never used them before. Is this common with them?

View 29 RepliesI have a 2004 camry xle with a V6 motor and it had 38k miles on it. Recently I'm starting to hear a weird sound coming from the front passenger dash area during the initial move off. It will happened when I drive the car at a speed of 5-10 mph after it has been stationary for at least 4 hrs. The sound itself sounds like something is moving and follow by at "clunk" sound, indicating that it has seated properly. All this last for maybe 1-2 sec during the initial move off and did not return for the rest of the drive. This weird sound become slightly louder on colder temperature. The car runs well and shifts well.
I had my tranny flushed by a toyota dealership, rack and pinion replaced and passenger side drive shaft replaced, before this weird sound started.
I recently (3/3/14) purchased a 2011 Sonata Limited 2.0 with only 6750 miles. I've owned it for 3 weeks and put 2000 miles on it. So far, lots to say good about it but one very disturbing quirk- on occasion, when accelerating from a stop in traffic or when entering moving traffic from a side street or driveway, there is a sudden loss of power. This power loss lasts from about one second to as long as 3-4 seconds before the engine recovers and the car resumes normal acceleration. I've taken it to my local Hyundai dealership twice with this complaint, but the defect is intermittent (technician was unable to duplicate it at the time) and there is no defect code to be found.
View 3 RepliesThis evening, my F150 with 2,600 miles developed a high pitched squeal, much like you might experience on an older vehicle with failing front brakes. Yes, that same squeal/grind the brakes make...metal on metal. It came in instantly while at highway speeds. It was VERY loud. The pitch didn't really change with speed...it was pretty consistant going slow or fast. There was no vibration, chatter or growl as I would expect with a failing bearing.
It was definately in the driveline/brakes. I was 10 miles away from a friends house, so I turned around and took it back to his place. Shortly after turning around, it quieted, only sounding when I would turn ( like a wheel bearing would when being side loaded ). I looked at the brake disks, thinking something was grinding on one of them. The outsides of the disks looked fine. Due to the shields on the inside, I couldn't see.
Later in the evening, I had to drive it back home, about 50 miles. Again, it was quiet unless turning fairly hard. By the time I got home, the squeal had turned into an intermitant growl/thump, as if a warped rotor was banging on the caliper. The noise was 1 to 1 with the rotation of the driveline. But still no vibration. Brakes work perfectly and the noise doesn't change with brake use. Backing up and turning hard results in a variety of sounds, including squeaks.
The hubs and CV joints felt cool. The brake disks were not hot as if they were dragging.
It is 4x4 / 3.7l
We got a 2012 SE Camry back in September. This is our first Toyota. Love everything about it except the driver and front passenger head rest. I feel like it is always pushing my head forward. Is there any other options for this?

Offlate I am observing that when the car is shifting gears (automatic), I hear kind of some fluid moving through near the front passenger seat. I looked under the seat and the searched the whole car to see if there is a half empty water bottle thats making the sound. I dont see it though. Am I looking at some problem?
