So I started hearing these random squeaking noises coming from the front suspension its what it sounds like. This only happens thou when i drive up into a drive way that is slanted. Or any kind of slow making slanted turns (~5-10mph)
I'm not 100% positive but it sounds like the suspension because it only makes noise when the car moves a little when ever i go up a drive way.

There is a loud groaning/creaking noise coming from the front suspension area. At low speeds, this noise dominates all other noises and is directly related to hitting the gas or pressing the brakes, which produces a forward or backward force on the front suspension and chassis. I can sometimes hear it briefly just by pushing against the parked car.
My hope is that I can just tighten up some bolts and make this go away, but other posts suggest it may be struts, stabilizer links or other non-obvious sources.
Looking for a suspension diagram that can be shared for this model? I need to fix the squeaking noise from front passenger side and would like to have an overview pic of the suspension system.

It was around 30 degrees out last night and driving and there was some squeaking heard the first time from the right front of the car it sounded like when hitting pot holes or certain dips in the road. Couldn't tell if it was the dash or suspension. Sound's like Styrofoam squeaking. Pretty sure its the suspension. First time I've ever heard any noise since I've had the car, bought used with 20k now has 107k on it.
View 1 RepliesMy wife has a 2006 Sonata with 75k on it currently. As the weather has gotten colder in the last few months the front suspension has started squeaking... Its sounds like rubberish squeaking noise from both sides of the vehicle.. Sounds to be more towards the top the car. As the weather gets colder it gets louder and you hear it more often. I was thinking maybe it was front strut mounts? I had stood outside the car and tried to bounce the front end to see if i could pin point it better...and I can't seem to duplicate the noise by bouncing the vehicle while its parked.. but soon as I drive it.. I hear it again.
View 5 RepliesWe bought a 2014 hyundai sonata on 28th of october. every thing worked fine. When we test drove we didn't notice the road noise. but yesterday we did notice it and it is unbearable. it sounds like it is coming from the front. I called the dealer and told them this is too much. We asked if we could return the car. we only had it 3 days. The dealer says he can fix it. We think it is a design problem. We just sold our 2009 sonata which was a very good car.

I am recently experiencing some weird squeaking/creaking noises coming from my front suspension.. It manifests whenever I am going over humps faster than usual (or if the humps is not "perfectly sloped"). I seldom experience this during daytime but during nighttime, it is very evident.
this is the list of things that I replaced already:
2x ball joints
2x stabilizer links
2x shock absorbers
2x tie rod
2x rack ends
Did some wheel balancing and wheel alignment already...
I was able to replicate this by parking the car in a slope - parallel to the street with the wheels turned to right or left, and pushing the top fender downwards.
Driving along our streets, highway, and highway curved ramps is flawless.. Could this be bushings on stabilizer bars? or the control arms?
I just got a 01 passat the new body style got 197k on it and the suspension at front is making a squeaking noise like an old mattress, what that could be?
View 1 RepliesMy car's rear suspension bushes are getting torn and are making squeaking noise in bumps. I am able to get bush for trailing arm and stabiliser bar. My dealer says that i have to replace the whole knuckle assembly as the bush for that part are not available separately. Is this true or the dealer is trying to earn some quick bucks?

See the attached videos. The first one (night time) was made before I took the car to the dealer the first time. Dealer said that I was going too fast over the speed bumps, so I made another video (daytime) showing the speed (10-13 mph). Both times you can hear a squeaking noise coming from the front that I just started hearing last week. The car has only 23,000 miles on it. I bought it brand new back in September of 2010. I don't know what to do because the dealer (of course) says that they checked everything and there is nothing wrong with the car.
What was the cause of it. I can take it to a mechanic and check it myself and then bring it to VW for repairs and telling them exactly what's wrong and why.

So this clacking and thunking from the front suspension is something we all have to live with? Second. Dealer says everything tight. I think its the strut mounts because the noise seems to at top of dash behind the fire wall. It sounds like two metal balls knocking together clack clack.: Seems to getting worse as the kms rack up.
View 29 RepliesI recently bought a 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T about a 3 months ago, and have since noticed a couple issues that have come up with it. First was with a squeaking front suspension, but that was fixed by simply lubricating the sway bar bushings.
The second is that the steering wheel seems louder than normal when turning left/right at low speeds, mainly when parking, it sounds like two pieces of paper rubbing against each other right behind the steering wheel like a dry noise.
I test drove another Santa Fe before getting mine for about a week and didn't notice this issue. Is this a normal sound that eventually develops after having the Santa Fe for a while? I'm like at 3,600 miles.
Quick question : I just noticed a strange "creaking" or "squeaking" coming from my front suspension when I turn the wheel back and forth - while having the car at a stand still in the driveway...
I'm assuming my Strut Mounts (bushings) and/or Strut Bearings have gone and need to be replaced? As the creaking sound really souds like it could be the rubber bushing buckling?...
I just want to be 100% sure this is my issue before ordering the parts. Need to confirm that this noise I'm hearing is bad mounts or bushings? Or is there something else I should take a look at before ordering the parts?

I get a pretty severe vibration from the front suspension when braking. Here's what's been replaced:
Rotors
Brake pads
Steering coupler
Where do I go next? LCA/ball joints? Tie rods?
I've got an '12 F-150 with 7k mi. on it. It developed a squeak/creak noise about 1k. mi. ago. It comes from the r. front suspension area and I noticed it one morning leaving from work. It occurs under suspension loading/unloading and it only happens during cold and dry conditions. It won't make the noise when it's wet or damp outside. I've had it at the local dealer 2 times now and they can't seem to locate it. It sounds like rubber on metal or when the 97 & 98's had the dry tie rod ends or ball joints problem. They are reluctant to throw parts at it to try and eliminate it and I agree with them. What were the findings?

It occurs intermittently and sometimes doesn't occur at all. The more the car is warmed up, the more often it seems to occur. Techs at Hyundai couldn't figure it out. They made me replace the rotors and pads with OEM parts and surprise, surprise, the same exact noise is occurring. I don't see how it can be wheel bearings...there is no rumbling noise or roughness at all. But the squeaking is killing me.

Noise is coming from the front suspension. You can hear it at :11 after i come to a stop, then drive over a dip. The dealer has told me it is the front struts. It's the 2nd time I've taken it to the dealership, the first time they could not replicate the noise so i am surprised the technician was able to hear it this time, and I don't want to spend money on strut replacement if it isn't the cause.
Having suspensions creaking sounds coming from the back left/right side? A friend of mine has the sonata too but is having the sound coming from the left, mine is on the right.
View 6 RepliesSometime back I had posted that I was getting a minor creaking noise which occurred mainly when I was slowly making right hand turns. At that time the conjecture was it was caused by the mounting tabs (used when the car is assembled) on the rear suspension. The solution was to drop the suspension and file off the tabs. But then I saw at least one other post that said the cause was something else.
Well the minor annoyance has become a major annoyance since it has gotten progressively worse. Before I resort in taking ot to the dealer I'd like to see if I can figure it out and fix it myself. But before I tackle that job I thought I would ask others who had this problem what it turned out to be.
I just bought used 2011 sonata 2.0T ltd. three weeks ago and i just figured that out when i turn the steering wheels both sides while car stops and pressing the brake pedal there is sound comes out from front and rear suspension.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2.4L. This problem started several weeks ago. When I turn on the ignition on the car, I hear a squeaking noise coming from the engine initially. Once the engine warms up, the squeaking sound lessen but does not go away. When I shift my automatic transmission to DRIVE, and press the accelerator, I hear squeaking noise coming from the engine again. I stopped my car and opened the hood. I could hear the squeaking noise coming from the front left of my car, if you are facing forward the front of the car. I do not know much about cars but I think it is coming from the fan belt/serpentine belt, or possibly alternator but I am really not sure.
Presently, the sound has gotten worse so I want to fix this as quickly as possible. I am second owner and the mileage on the car is 45,550.
