My vehicle: 2013 Sonata Limited - 4500 mi. When I park on an incline, set the parking brake then release the foot brake, hear a 'creaking' noise from rear. Dealer says "it's normal and nothing can be done" ? I don't think so...
View 6 RepliesHad this issue with my Kia Optima 2013 pertaining to the brake pedal, now with my 14 Sonata Limited. When in stop and go traffic, parking lot driving, or pulling into the garage that requires a lighter touch on the brake pedal, the pedal has a creaking feel to it, like when closing a creaky door. I can make this happen of course when I push the brake pedal slowly with my hand. This also happens when letting up on the pedal slowly/lightly. Kind of annoying, but the brakes work just fine and dandy
View 3 Replies2012 Sonata Limited... I purchased my car in November of 2011. It had allegedly been driven for 5500 miles by a salesperson at the dealership.
Within a week, both my husband and I noticed that the cruise control would simply not go on every once in a while. The dealer claims to have taken apart the cruise control, looking for problems, but says there are no problems; that I should come back in after docummenting problems more specifically.
I also continue to hear the creaking noise in the sun-roof area. Allegedly, the Body Shop adjusted the headliner clips, but I still hear creaking.
I am most concerned with the cruise control, but annoyed at the dealer for keeping my car for over two weeks and having achieved nothing. I like the car, but this kind of a start with it makes me want to sell it and go get either another Honda or a used Volvo.
My son parked the car and I noticed the brake lights were on. After depressing and releasing the pedal a few times the lights go off, then 2 or 3 seconds later, they're back on even when the pedal is released. This happened all of a sudden. I'll pull the switch in the morning and test it, but what else could it be but the switch, right?
View 1 RepliesIve got a 2011 Sonata GLS with 111k miles. I purchased the car new. For the past several months the brakes make a crunch or creaking sound when the pedal is being pressed OR released. The funny thing is it only happens when driving forward. When I apply the brakes while reversing, the brakes are silent. I did a pad slap at 68k and have taken everything apart, cleaned and re-lubed to no avail. The sound can be heard at the front wheels when someone else works the pedal while the car is parked. Pads have about 50% thickness. Pads? Calipers, master cylinder?
View 27 RepliesWhenever I start my 2011 Sonata Turbo after it has been resting overnight, the brake warning light comes on and stays on. It's not immediate?it usually takes five to ten seconds, and whether the emergency brake was on when I started has no effect. Once it goes on, it cannot be shut off without shutting off the car and restarting?at which time it acts normally for the rest of the day. The braking system is fine.
View 6 RepliesSometimes when I start my car, parking brake light fails to go off. I know this is usually indicative of low brake fluid, but mine is not low. I rarely use the brake so I don't think it's the parking brake switch either as it only happens if the parking brake is not engaged. Never happens on the occasional use of it.
Restarting doesn't seem to work unless I set the brake, restart, then disengage it. Very strange problem. Not a big deal but is a bit perplexing. I never see a CEL or any codes generated at all.
I've got a '13 GS 350 F-Sport and when the parking brake is set and you go to get out of the car it makes a real weird creaking noise. Its only when the parking brake is set, if i turn the auto parking brake off, it doesn't do it at all.
View 11 RepliesWe have changed the brakes and the caliper on the right passenger side of our 2008 Hyundai Elantra. When we brake, we a getting a grinding sound. We had to change out the caliper 2x before we got a working one. Now with a working caliper, we are still getting getting the loud grinding sound. We had greased and removed all rust in and around the caliper. The brakes are new.

View 5 RepliesWell I had the rear lower control arms replaced for the recall. My car creaks and pops when i go over uneven places like from to road to driveway or up a steep incline since the swap. the noise is loud and comes from the back of the car.
View 1 RepliesSometime back I had posted that I was getting a minor creaking noise which occurred mainly when I was slowly making right hand turns. At that time the conjecture was it was caused by the mounting tabs (used when the car is assembled) on the rear suspension. The solution was to drop the suspension and file off the tabs. But then I saw at least one other post that said the cause was something else.
Well the minor annoyance has become a major annoyance since it has gotten progressively worse. Before I resort in taking ot to the dealer I'd like to see if I can figure it out and fix it myself. But before I tackle that job I thought I would ask others who had this problem what it turned out to be.
On mine a few months back I started getting a creaking noise on the right side when I pull into my drive way, The dealer looked at it and said it would have to go to their body shop to re do some welds...
View 21 RepliesI have this noticeable creaking noise that pops up every now and then on the front passenger side of the car. Problem is it is hard to replicate to the dealer. I usually notice it going over dips at some times, and most when I make a right turn into a raised road. Otherwise, not a peep out of the car.

View 29 RepliesJust replaced the front struts last week and the upper control arms this morning. After putting everything back together I drove her around the block and noticed a horrible popping and squeaking like something was loose. I quickly limped her home and double checked that everything went back on properly and was tight. Car is the V6 with eibach's and about 103,000 miles I have drain and filled the tranny every 30-40k.
What this sound might be? It goes away once I am above about 10-15 mph and sounds like it is coming from the center underside of the car. I will also try to get a video of the sound while I am driving.

I have a 2009 Sonata Limited (4 cyl), and since the beginning of the summer, I have had a knocking/creaking type sound coming from both the front AND back of the car, which feels like is coming from underneath. I can feel it in the floor when it gets really hot, and therefore really bad. I hear it almost exclusively while accelerating or coming to a complete stop. When it gets really hot out, I can hear it very slightly while driving at slower speeds, but that's about it. Has no correlation to making turns, as would be the case with a tie rod.
I find it extremely strange that this is happening only in the heat. When it's cooler out, say below 80-85 degrees, there is no sound whatsoever. The car runs phenomenally otherwise, very quiet. Based on some stuff I've read, it seems like a suspension issue is a possibility? I live in a neighborhood with extremely poor roads, and actually live on a dirt road.
I have a 2014 Azera Limited and find it odd that the trunk doesn't have some kind of hydraulic system and just swings open so loosely, especially for a luxury car. Either way, my trunk makes a a creaking sound when fully opened and then again when I start to pull down from the fully opened position. Just wondering if this is normal. It just sounds cheap and is kind of annoying.

There is a loud groaning/creaking noise coming from the front suspension area. At low speeds, this noise dominates all other noises and is directly related to hitting the gas or pressing the brakes, which produces a forward or backward force on the front suspension and chassis. I can sometimes hear it briefly just by pushing against the parked car.
My hope is that I can just tighten up some bolts and make this go away, but other posts suggest it may be struts, stabilizer links or other non-obvious sources.
Having suspensions creaking sounds coming from the back left/right side? A friend of mine has the sonata too but is having the sound coming from the left, mine is on the right.
View 6 RepliesI got my Sonata at 27k, its now at 76k and the cars been great although I had the following issues.
I've noticed sometimes when I startup and shift into reverse the car jerks a bit and its not a smooth transition. However other times the car is very fluid in switching gears. Should I take it in to have a look at it?
Also when I am turning onto a unleveled road (usually a higher road), I notice a creaking/knocking noise coming from the front of the car, also notice it when I reverse into a parking space sometimes.
