There seems to be some moisture buildup in the DRL LED housing and the last couple of lights have gone out. Any fix for this? I have attached pictures ....

View 11 RepliesTwice in the past few weeks my Sonata's windows were covered in moisture so bad I had to use paper towels on every window to be able to see out of it, even had to wipe up water dripping onto the dash board, took it back to the dealer and of course they couldn't find anything wrong. I purchased the car in April, now has 3,000 miles on it, I'm thinking that the change in the weather (cold nights) are why this has now shown up.
View 22 RepliesHaving issues regarding Moisture in the car... I have a 2014 Sonata SE and i live in Seattle and here most of the time is a rainy and my car is producing lot of moisture inside with in couple of minutes after drive or if i parked outside also. I am not Re-circulating the air and switching on the Air condition every time when ever fogged. But, today i have switched on the A/C for almost 5 minutes and put on Exhaust mode. Some how moisture is still inside the car. This problems i am seeing at the time of i bought the car. I have noticed most of cars are not fogged but do not know why the new Hyundai Sonata is pretty fogging.
View 19 RepliesHow to replace the plastic (painted) part of the sideview mirror? The glass is fine and the mount is fine, but I've clipped something and cracked the painted plastic. Is that replaceable separately? What is the part number?
View 2 RepliesJust discovered moisture on the inside of my front left headlamp housing. I called the dealer and asked if warranty would cover it. The dealer said yes as long as there are no cracks in the housing, of which there is not. Have other members had the lens seals leak on their Accents? While the car is in the shop, I'm also having them check the pulleys, as theres quite a bit of movement side to side at idle. I also noticed alot more vibration at idle, enough to vibrate the front plate and the radiator trembles like crazy at idle. Does the main pulley also act as a counterbalance? If so, is there a pattern of those going bad?
View 5 RepliesMy front passenger headlight seems to go out after starting and driving for a little. I just replaced the bulbs a few weeks ago and it just happened again. I did notice that the one headlight does flicker after turning on. After looking at the headlight it does appear that some moisture had gotten inside the housing. I don't want to take apart the headlight and reseal it and still have the same problem. Does the ballest need to be replaced also or does something have to be cleaned?
View 1 Replies2005 Toyota Sienna minivan. Neighbor brings it by my house for a headlamp bulb.Rt head lamp low beam is out. Access is easy with the hood open.Rt Headlamp lens housing has moisture inside, left does not.Bulb is not broken or shatterd, it is in one piece. Before we spend $76 for an HID bulb, I have questions on the HID system. Is it that simple..just a bulb..or is there electronic controls involved that could be the culprit?Did the moisture take out the bulb in the first place ? ( halogen bulbs explode when wet ) or cause a chort in the electronics ? I already told her we need to take out the lens body and find and seal the leak and dry it out but I'm curious about the HID system.Do I dare just put 12v to the bulb ( #D2R 35w ) to test it or is that a bad idea with HID ?....( my best Ford tech to ask is off today )
View 2 RepliesI recently noticed both of my headlights had a little bit of moisture inside the lens. I'm not sure if it had to do with the HID installation. I remembered I had to make holes on the dust cap but I made sure I closed up the holes with electrical tape after I was done.
Recently (couple hours later) I went to check on the headlights, the passenger side lens seems like it evaporated but the driver side lens has a minor streak of moisture at the bottom. I took pix but i cant upload through my phone. I will post them up on Monday. The climate is constantly changing here in NYC because of the fall season.
Could it be the heat from the HID bulb and the humidity from outside?
I just purchased a 2009 Sonata with 78,000 miles. Car appears to be in great condition. I am using the air conditioner alot. I noticed the other day that there was significant moisture under the drivers floormat and the carpeting was damp. I let it dry and put the mat back down. That was about 5 days ago. I checked it again today and it is damp again. The car has not been in the rain during that time. Neither the carpet or the car smell damp or musty. What could be causing the moisture? It is only on the drivers side.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2006 Sonata with 88,000 miles on it. Currently, and for the past 11 months, the CEL has been on and the code always returned is a p0456, very small evap leak.
I searched for leaks but couldn't find any. I also replaced the purge control valve, but the same p0456 continues to reappear. Of course I also made sure the gas cap was on tight.
I received a coupon from the dealer for a free diagnostic so I took the car in.
The dealer reported the code as p0455, large evap leak, and said the cause was a cracked fuel pump housing. Cost to repair $850. Seems to me the dealer just picked the most costly part to replace, although I can confirm they looked at it because they forgot to screw the access cover back on.
So what I would like to know is how the dealer would have made such a diagnosis? I cleaned and inspected the outside of the pump and saw no crack, but I also understand that the crack may be too small see.
I want to be able to confirm that the dealer's diagnosis is correct, but how can I do that? I have a hand operated vacuum pump and access to shop air to aid in the diagnosis.
I read elsewhere on this site about pressurizing the system and putting soapy water on the area to show bubbles where the leak is, but where would I connect the air hose? And more importantly, what is a safe pressure to use?
Of course tracking down the cause of p0456. I know the charcoal canister could be problem as well, but I'd like to find some way of isolating down the failing component.
I just replaced my OEM battery with a duralast from autozone. The battery had 138,000 miles. Shortly after, the check engine light came on and code says P0106. Map Sensor. Seems like to much of coincidence that this happened. Have read that disconnecting battery cables for 3 hours may do the trick.
View 8 RepliesTHis is about the 5th or 6th time in the past year (2X in past 2 weeks) that the A/C will not come on. Two times took to Dealer & it worked just fine. Ir worked when I drove it, then parked it for 2 hours, and then it wouldn't work. Parked it, and then it worked fine again.
Dealer has no knowledge of this being an issue.
Similarly, my iPhone does not connect on an intermittent basis - again, always connects when at dealer.
Should I do an Oil change? I never noticed this before. I have 5897 miles on the oil now.
View 8 RepliesJust picked up a 2012 GLS two weeks ago. So far I like the car. Unfortunately, I do about 40 miles a day of traffic driving. I have noticed the car seems to downshift from possibly 4th to 3rd right around 35mph. This downshift is noticeable and the engine has to rev to match the change. It is not a high rev, just a noticeable engine braking. Is this normal? I dont feel like anything is wrong just seems like the computers are not sure when to downshift.
When the car comes to a complete stop with your foot on the brake, does the car lower its rpm by 100-200pms? Seems like this is a gas saving technique. I have noticed it when While at a light and I lift my foot slighty the car feels like either the brakes are grabbing or the rpms are to low.
Sometimes when I put my AC on it makes a hum. It starts soft, gets louder and louder then fades away.. It's not all the time, one of those hard to diagnose intermittent noises..
View 3 Replies I dropped my Audi A4 for a 2011 Sonata. Hyundai has come a long ways.
I am having one problem with my car though. Both of my key fobs work for a few minutes after the car is turned off. Then they will not unlock the car. When I hit unlock the lights come on inside, but it does not unlock the doors. The lights come on with the fob regardless of how long it has been since I started the car. If I unlock the car with my keys the car alarm goes off and the engine is immobilized. I can then get out of the car, lock it with the key and unlock it again and it works. I can also start the car if I unlock the door and wait a couple of minutes before I attempt to start the car.
After this the key fobs work again for about two minutes after the car is turned off. The key fob batteries are new and the car has a brand new battery. The dealer replaced the central locking mechanism thinking that was the problem. It did not resolve the issue.
My car is a 2011 Sonata GLS with nav/dimesion. I have 55K miles on it and still have warranty.
If the speedo shows me going 40MPH, my phone GPS and radar signs show me going 37-38MPH.
Is this something I should have the dealer correct or just roll with it? I've seen others post similar results, so wondering if ALL Sonatas do this?
OEM 18' wheels/tires.
I have 90K and the SRS light came on a few months ago. What could be causing it?
View 2 RepliesI bought my New Sonata in March 2012 and loved the Nav Bluetooth. I could say "call name" it would ask who and I would say a name from my contacts and it would connect no problem. One day a few months ago it just stopped working? I took it into the dealership and after 3 service members and the guy who sold my car to me couldn't get it to work they told me my Nav system needed to be replaced. I brought it back a few days later and left it for many hours. They called and said it was ready. I went to pick it up and they told me that it wasn't the Nav system that an "update" needed to happen? The service guy said that it should be a few weeks. Me knowing nothing about iPhones and Nav systems left confused. fast forward two months later it still isn't working! I also brought it in for an oil change a few weeks back and ask them if they have any update and they said no.
View 44 RepliesI have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS and my fog lights wont turn on with the HIDs installed but they turn on with my regular halogen bulbs? I installed HIDs on the low beam headlight and they work perfect with the computer warning and anti-flicker. when i installed the fog light HID kit on my fog lights, they just make a quick flicker for like 1 second then they turn off. I have switched ballast, reconnected wires, and thought of switching polarities. Haven't done that yet because power is reaching the bulb.
View 20 RepliesI have owned and driven a 2011 Sonata for the past 9 months (12,000 kms). In the last two weeks the eco light on the dash has delayed coming on until the car has been driven for five minutes or so - usually around three kilometers. Once it comes on, it will function in the normal manner and will come on the moment the car moves even after it having been parked for a while. My thought is a sensor problem or a loose connection but I am not sure.
