I have a 2011 Sonata Limited, and have had no problems with it until now - the low gas light came on while I drove to work with the fuel gauge showing more than half a tank just before that.
I stopped at a gas station and put $10 of gas in just to be sure it wasn't wrong, but started it up again and the light stayed on.
Having issues with the rear tail lights will not shut off when you turn off the car? This all happened at the same time but I'm not sure what it is???
1. The traction control dash light comes on and stays on.
2. The cruise control stopped working.
3. The rear tail lights won't shut off even when the car is off.
I have a 2012 Sonata for 4 years. In the past year I've experienced the ABS, Brake, TC lights staying on. Then had a bad battery and a headlight go out. Got all that done but after 4 months on new battery, it failed, and the 3 lights came on again. According to codes, dealer says the issue is a valve and they cannot give an estimate for repair but to tear down the valve and probe to find it, will cost me $132. That doesn't set well with me so I elected to drive on with lights on. They did say the battery & headlight issues were not related to the 3 lights staying on.

View 2 RepliesI just had my oil changed today and while driving home the red airbag light came on in the instrument cluster and the passenger airbag light on the dash started flashing. When I connected the passenger seatbelt the flashing light went off. While in the dealer also tightened some screws in the center console. I have an under the seat subwoofer that is VERY snug...could that have damaged something when the seat was slid back?

View 2 RepliesI have owned and driven a 2011 Sonata for the past 9 months (12,000 kms). In the last two weeks the eco light on the dash has delayed coming on until the car has been driven for five minutes or so - usually around three kilometers. Once it comes on, it will function in the normal manner and will come on the moment the car moves even after it having been parked for a while. My thought is a sensor problem or a loose connection but I am not sure.

Would love them to switch on automatically when i unlock the car, but only for like 10 seconds though. How to do this?
View 2 RepliesSo I ordered the fog light kit from Shark Racing and received it today. I took of the bumper and installed the lights. I also connected the hot wire to the battery and the ground. However, there's another wire that's supposed to be routed through the firewall and connect to the provided switch. Is there any way to bypass this? I just want the fog lights to come on when the lights are on. Actually, I don't even care if the lights are on, the fog lights can be on all the time. I just don't feel comfortable routing a wire through the firewall and also taking the steering wheel off to put the new switch on.
View 36 RepliesThe air bag light in the dash came up, and stays up. I checked for connections under the seats, and tried the battery disconnect thing. N/G. It's my son's car, and until he brings it in to get the code read, is there anything I can do in the meantime?
View 4 RepliesHad the 2011 Sonata 2.0T for two months. Was running perfectly. The today engine light stayed on. Disconnected battery then started again. Still on. Guy said check gas cap. Added gas AND disconnected battery again. Light stayed off on way home. Then started it again and it is on again. No overheating. Oil is ok. etc. everything else works just fine.

View 5 RepliesI have 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE V6, 72k. Out of warranty. Problem is parking lights does not turn off when I turn off the car and take the key out. I have to play with the switch from On to Auto many times in order to turn them off. Sounds like stuck relay. I also have "auto switch off" feature which is supposed to turn off everything when I open the driver’s door AND the key is out. This does not turn off the lights as well. Lately it is very difficult to turn them off, especially when the car has been running for some time. Brake switch as per the recall has been changed in the past.
I went to the dealership, paid $110 for diagnostics and they said I need to replace the junction fuse box in the engine compartment - I found such a box for less and replaced it myself. Problem still exist. After reading some more online, the forums said that the parking relay is integrated in the other junction/fuse box – the one under the left front dash (91950-3K560).
Can this box be opened and fixed? Is there another solution other than replacing the fuse box?
My 'check engine' warning light just came on after only 12,000 km on my 2011 GLS. What emission control part would be the first to fail? I ran my 06 Sonata 100,000 km+ and never saw any warning lights! And no, it's not a loose gas cap!

I just bought one used 2 weeks ago. lately in the very cold new england mornings i am seeing the battery light flash at me when downshifting on the highway. seems to go away after about 5 miles and doesn't happen every day. Belt and the tension look ok. My car is stock and has 52k on it.
View 10 RepliesSo I was told I had a brake light out? Went and bought new bulb and replaced. Turn on headlights and the single filament lights. so when brakes are applied the second filament should light up that give the brighter affect.
Well when brakes applied the bulb goes out completely? Take foot off brake and the single filament comes back on. The other tail light operates as it should. Even used bulb from working tail light with same results.
Got a new battery today but now the check engine light is on. Went to local auto parts store and was told it's the MAP sensor. I had the battery replaced 3 years prior to this and at that time the check engine light didn't turn on. Is that normal?
View 4 RepliesTPMS sensor has recently came in and stays on. However i checked all 4 tires and the pressures in them are at the appropriate values. I am assuming this could be related to maybe the system just not "seeing" one of the sensors or something. I heard if you use an OBD2 adapter you can see the values reported and it will show exactly what tire is reporting the problem.
